Arsenal’s taken their SAM7R and given it two hot new looks for summer. Think of the SAM7R-51 and SAM7R-65 as the same gun, just with an added pair of espadrilles and Bermuda shorts. Kinda . . .
(LAS VEGAS) – While the SAM7R made its initial debut this past winter with just one look, the rifle will step into summer showing off two style variations that offer sportsman and enthusiasts some added comfort. The SAM7R-51 adopts the US made, hammer-forged, machined trigger that features a wider grip to give the shooter more finger comfort. On the back-end, a Bulgarian Warsaw Pact buttstock replaces the rifle’s initial intermediate stock.
Additional (original) features of this 7.62x39mm caliber rifle include a milled and forged receiver, chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel, 14mm muzzle threads, muzzle brake, cleaning rod, bayonet lug, black polymer furniture, scope rail, one 10-round magazine, sling, oil bottle, and cleaning kit. On the SAM7R-65, the style changed applies to the front-end of the firearm only now with an attached FOUR-PIECE FLASH HIDER resized to fit the rifle. The intermediate buttstock stays on this rifle for the shooter who prefers some additional length.
Also a 7.62 x 39 mm caliber, it comes with the following (original) features: milled and forged receiver, chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel, 14mm muzzle threads, cleaning rod, bayonet lug, black polymer furniture, scope rail, one 10-round magazine, sling, oil bottle, and cleaning kit. These Configurations are exclusively sold through K-Var Corp at www.K-VAR.com or 702-364-8880.

I was looking a Arsenal and their AK derivatives recently. Being in the market for a solid US-made AK, Arsenal would have been the obvious choice pre-Sandy Hook. Now it’s as much of a distant object of desire as a China Lake Grenade Launcher: too expensive, maligned and rare for any possibility of ownership.
What do you mean? The prices for Arsenal AKs didn’t change significantly – one can still be had for under $1k on GunBroker today, and they were always expensive. Availability is pretty good now as well. And why would you care if it is “maligned” by anyone or not?
*Whistles* very nice. Good to see a modernized AK, now if only it had rails.
Raillzzzzz
There’s already one on the side, and you can add more wherever you want.
Arsenal hasn’t failed me yet.
They always have interesting stuff. Just can’t get my hands on any of it…
Arsenal/Saiga AKs are the absolute Cadillacs of AKs. The only downside is the slippery grip, easily remedied.
Get one while you can, because I have a feeling Uncle Fud wants to diddle with the 922r provision and ban these imported receivers once and for all.
One hopes that they forge the receivers before they mill them. If they actually do it the other way around, I’d love to see how they manage that.
Yea, I was thinking the same thing.
But hey, I have to be pragmatic: At least they’re not milled from “billet.”
That’s an improvement.
Hammer forged barrels, 5 hours of forging/milling on the reciever, kick butt flash hider, whats not to like? Rails? $100 ultimak gas tube, aimpoint micro co witnessed, and a haley thorntail light mount will do the trick. No need to go overboard.
