You an AK-type pistol honk? Me neither, but Arsenal thinks the newly redesigned muzzle brake they’ve popped onto the end of their SLR-106UR will change your mind. They say it significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle jump. Check the press release and video after the jump to see how little that little gun with the new brake appears to shake, rattle ‘n roll . . .
(LAS VEGAS) – In an effort to allow greater ease and comfort in shooting, Arsenal Inc. has redesigned the muzzle break for the SLR-106UR semi-automatic pistol. The new style will lessen the impact of felt recoil and provide a more enjoyable experience for sportsman and shooting enthusiasts of all sizes.
This redesign puts Arsenal’s muzzle break among the most efficient within the firearms industry and stays in line with the company’s long history of quality, superior products. The SLR-106 UR, imported from Arsenal of Bulgaria, is a 5.56 NATO caliber, stamped receiver with an 8 1/2 inch chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel. The pistol is also outfitted with a scope rail, black polymer furniture and comes with one 5-round, one 20-round magazines, sling, oil bottle, and cleaning kit.
Muzzle brake. I’m sure Arsenal doesn’t want their guns to break.
I was about to say the very same thing though with far less wit.
Looks like it is based off the Russian SRVV Brake.
Wha? It’s a TTAG article, just for me! 🙂
I was actually just about to order a HOBO brake for my SLR-106 SBR…but I may now have a change in plans.
Bet it’s loud as hell, though.
If I pick one up, I’ll be happy to send a follow-up review, for the two other SLR owners on this site.
All both of you guys?
What can I say? Our ranks are swelling!
This TTAG’r only has a pair of SGL’s not SLR yet. Yet, of course, being the operative word.
I shot one of these several months ago with the older ‘Krink’ style faux flash hider, and this looks *much* more functional. Be sure to use double hearing protection!
I love mine with the original muzzle break. It is loud but oh so fun to shoot.
RIFLE IS FINE.
