This isn’t exactly new, but it’s a variation of the standard Triage knife that would have come in handy a few weeks ago. I was cutting the clothes of a drunk driver we were in the process of backboarding and the only thing I had on hand was the same pointy knife I used to gut that deer in Texas. I was constantly afraid of slicing into the guy instead of his clothes. This knife, with the blunt tip, would have removed my concern and the hook would have really helped with that pesky seatbelt. MSRP is somewhere around $100, so not cheap but not the most expensive thing they make.

  1. I would love one of these, but I’m a sucker for knives. For many of the purposes you describe, you might consider a Boker Cop Tool [review on my now-defunct blog] as an affordable alternative. I’ve been carrying one for years.
