Press release: [viaAmmoland.com] Meprolight Ltd. – a member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, self-illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications – expands its MEPRO RDS family with a new version of its MEPRO RDS PRO (also known as the MEPRO M5) Red Dot Sight.
The new version has a Bullseye reticle that allows extended operating time while using a large display window.
According to Benny Kokia, VP Marketing and Sales, “Some of the most popular optical sights with a display window and Bullseye reticle consume high levels of energy and, therefore, require frequent battery changes.
“We have met this challenge with our new Bullseye version’s exceptional energy-efficiency that significantly extends the operation time, while using a large transparent display window for rapid acquisition of targets.
“This is a unique sight that poses a new challenge to our Tier 1 competitors, and we expect it to become very popular among our military, law enforcement, and civilian customers.”
The MEPRO RDS PRO is an energy-efficient, compact sight that provides thousands of operating hours while utilizing a single “AA” commercial battery. Featuring battle-proven LED technology and rugged MIL-STD design, the sight assures reliability under the harshest environmental conditions.
With its large display window and clearly-defined Red Dot aiming pattern, the MEPRO RDS PRO ensures rapid target acquisition with both eyes open. Offering 12 day and 4 night brightness positions and numerous easily switchable reticle brightness intensities, the sight suits every tactical scenario.
To facilitate night operations and long-range target engagement, the MEPRO RDS PRO is compatible with GEN II and GEN III NVGs as well as with magnifying scopes.
Its human engineering allows positioning of NVGs and magnifiers close to the sight’s optics with no decrease in the field-of-view and without compromising the convenient switch operation. The sight is available with red or green reticles, and in multiple reticle patterns including Dot and Bullseye.
The MEPRO MOR is a compact, rugged, multi-purpose, multi-activated red and green dot reflex sight with integrated laser pointers. Designed for quick, instinctive, accurate shooting, it has a 30mm diameter lens, ensuring rapid target acquisition with either one or both eyes open, and quick transition between long-range and close-quarter encounters.
MEPRO MOR’s large field-of-view enables effective operation in all weather, temperature, and light conditions. The passive self-illuminated system provides integrated day/night operation, LED for extra bright modes, two laser pointers – visible (red or green) and IR, and multiple mounting options.
The sight is suited for use with 5.56 mm caliber light weapons and 7.62 mm caliber light machine guns, and is available in 3 configurations: IR and red pointers, IR and green pointers, and red and green pointers.
Mr. Kokia added, “We learned from feedback received from the field that many users prefer the green dot since, according to them, it is more clearly visible when the arena is illuminated. We developed the green option to enable our customers to select the configuration that works best for them.”

Wow thousands. So how many specifically?
I love my Mepro RDS. Replaced an EOtech with it and have been running it nonstop through dry summer heat and freezing winter rain. Still has the first AA battery in it. The claim is 10-15,000 hours of run time. The auto shut-off and auto-on features work like a charm.
One of the things I really like about the RDS is that there are only 4 settings. Those 4 have been fine for pitch black, dusk and dawn, overcast and full sun as well as NV. I’m kind of bummed they added so many more to this PRO version. I like the reticle options but not all the brightness options. Less is more.
I’ve got a couple of Mepro Tru-Dots and have been quite pleased with them.
Picked the first up just to try out and really loved the large viewing window. When the EoTech thing came about I picked up another one for my wife to replace her EoTech as she preferred the large viewing window on the Mepro vs using one of my ML3s or PROs.
When are these coming to market?
