Whelp, file this solidly in the “I didn’t see that coming” category! But, I’m glad it’s coming. IWI US has announced the TAVOR TS12, a semi-automatic shotgun with a 15+1 capacity and some other, slick features. We’ll find out more next week, but in the meantime here’s the press release:
Introducing the TAVOR® TS12, IWI US’s First Bullpup Shotgun
The tactical-style, gas regulated shotgun features three magazine tubes for a maximum round capacity of 15 rounds plus one.
Middletown, Pa. (January 2018) –IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., brings innovation to the tactical shotgun market with their first bullpup shotgun: the TAVOR® TS12. This 12 GA gas regulated, smoothbore semi-auto shotgun feeds from one of three magazine tubes, each capable of holding four three-inch shotgun shells or five two-inch shotgun shells, for a total potential magazine capacity of 15 +1 rounds. The TS12 can be fed and unloaded from either side and configured for either right or left side ejection or operation.
“The TAVOR TS12 is our first entry into the home defense shotgun market and we held off until we had something unique and desirable that held the same characteristic quality and performance of the entire TAVOR line,” Casey Flack, CEO of IWI US commented. “The TS12 is it; compact, easy to use and maintain, and with a large magazine capacity, it is ideal for home defense, as well as a sporting shotgun.”
The TAVOR TS12 features a unique patented “Bullhead” bolt locking system, specific to the TS12. The 18.5-inch smoothbore barrel with a three-inch chamber is fed rounds through a tubular magazine system that automatically loads the next round when the tube is rotated in position. The muzzle threads are internal and compatible with Benelli®/Beretta choke tubes. One choke tube is included with the TAVOR TS12.
Compact in length at only 28.34-inches, the TS12 has a one-piece, full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail with M-LOK receptacles integral in each side of the forearm of the shotgun body, allowing multiple placement possibilities for the addition of accessories.
Available initially in a black finish, later versions will be offered in OD and FDE. The MSRP is $1399.00.TAVOR® TS12 Specifications:

TTAG will get hands-on at SHOT Show! Stay tuned.
I’m sure it’s just great. But modern bullpup shotguns have got to be the ugliest guns on the planet. Really, shockingly, ugly. They make Glocks look good. They make Hi-points look good. They are that ugly.
Ksg isn’t ugly.
KSG is an Ugly Mo Fo.
KSG so ugly even yo mama thinks its ugly.
KSG so ugly it scares blind kids.
KSG so ugly I tried to scoop it up off the lawn with a shovel.
Tell us how you really feel Kevin.
Ksg is the best looking bullpup shotgun and is one of the its so ugly its beautiful type guns. (and recoil is amazingly low with it)
You got that right! My KSG is awesome looking. Got one in the newer Navy Blue color. Absolutely love it and it looks bada$$.
I like the KSG, but I think this does qualify as an ugly gun – but mostly because of the ugly-ass Tavor handle/trigger arrangement that looks like it came from an electric weed-eater.
The significant real game-changer here is it’s semi-auto. It will surely sell sub-1K$ (little Kel-Tec pun;)…I’m in as IWI is as good as it gets and I never met a scattergun I didn’t like from single-shot to Fosstech and everything in between. God Bless.
Kind of like the A-10: it’s ugliness is it’s coolness.
Wow! We are now ready for Starship Troopers Infantry. Become a true citizen and buy this gun right away. Make sure to keep your bug out bag ready.
Would you like to know more?
I was definitely thinking the SyFy channel is going to get some mileage out of this shotgun.
Don’t you mean bug killing bag? You did see the movie I hope.
I want.
!!!
Whoa… my pants suddenly became very uncomfortable…
Keltec’s KSG can get kicked to the curb now.
🤠
Looks like an SRM 1216 and a Tavor had a child. Now chamber it for 25mm grenades.
I was going to saythe retarded love chiled between a ksg and a tavor
If it hits like Hodor I don’t care what it looks like!
The problem with Tavor and its design siblings is that they are made to fit into the Israeli perception of small arms utilization. As such, they integrate perfectly into their system. Unfortunately, they are as attractive as warthogs. Although, the military SBR version of x95 is somewhat not repulsive.
This has a Pancor Jackhammer vibe. Here’s to hoping it takes drums to complete the look.
wow. that is a turd, for sure. no thx IWI
Between this and the FK-BRNO from a few days ago, it seems like the upcoming trend is firearms that look like mocked-up guns from a scifi movie.
Both are bulkier than they probably need to be, but I’m not about the claim they don’t look pretty badass, ’cause they do.
I am good with the scifi look. It makes carrying during Cosplay less suspicious.
Shoot a nuke down a bug hole, you got a lot of dead bugs.
Is shotgun I want.
Skeptical, but interested.
What the hell does this mean?
“Magazine: Tubular system, 15-rounds total capacity (five 2.75″ or four 3″)”
There are 3 magazine tubes. Each hold 5 (2.75”) shells. When you empty a tube, rotate like a revolver to the next full tube. Repeat when empty.
Well thank you sir.
I wonder if it will feed the mini shells?
Historically semi-autos and minishells don’t get along, because the minis don’t have enough punch to cycle the action.
Since this will accept 3″ shells, it’ll probably also have feeding/tumbling issues with the minis.
Fixing the cycle problem with lighter springs is probably doable. Making the action smaller to help control the shell is another question entirely. If it’s like the Mossberg pump, a chunk of plastic will take up the slop. If it’s like the Remington pump, it won’t.
This is the first Bullpup that I’ve ever saw and thought “maybe”, let’s see if it runs.
Holy heck, Batman! Put a suppressor on it, and it’s ideal for home defense! Short enough for maneuvering inside.
Always hard keeping the shottie fed, but this solves the problem.
Can you select magazine tubes at random? Buck/slug tubes?
With chokes tube threading… There might be a few turkey hunters interested. Offer a longer barrel, and it’d almost be able to do a full round of clays with a single loading. Would magazine extension tubes be possible?
How about rifled slug barrels?
I know: “why?!” Who cares why, why not?
I’d sell my Wilson Combat to pony up the funds for that.
* gets garbage bag full popcorn *
You can put that Wilson Combat in your garbage bag when you’re done with your popcorn…
why is there so many buttons? two buttons on the stock it looks like, one under, a “trigger” for the mag tubes in the trigger housing, just no, no, no, no. and for gods sake what is that massive bulge on the sides of the gun?? im guessing thats a shield/dust cover where the barrels rotate? good god its unbearably ugly and probably a bitch to wield. that dustcover looks like it sticks out about 4 inches and it hit everything in the world. and don’t forget the gas setting lever!!! way to many damn controls for a shotgun jesus. they got this ass-backwards. this is probably the most complicated shotgun ever to use.
I like but having held a Tavor no thanks. How is this better than an SRM other than being from Israel and not moose-lim Turkey!?
Who needs pretty firearms?
The real question is, who the hell has a drop ceiling in their bedroom?
I mean, aside from the basement dwellers.
“Would you like to know more?”
No.
And the first complaint will be….. “its too heavy”
*Drools*
Holy frijoles! I gotta try that out . . . .
Going to start selling rifles and pistols I seldom use. This will fit in perfectly with my Tavor 18 in the simplify philosophy of self defense. Meanwhile, they will be released and in 6 months the price will start coming down.
Bullpups are not for everyone, I thought they were butt ugly, too heavy and HOW could that thing be ergonomic? Then, I picked one up at a gun show, with a salesman standing there who explained how the ergonomics really worked.
Hooked.
I’m liking it. Seems like it could be a very capable home defense weapon. Can’t wait to read the reviews. It looks like something out of an XCOM game.
heavy plasma rifle?
I am sure that this shotgun will quickly become a Hollywood favorite due to it’s unique appearance.
I love my X95!
If I were to buy a shotgun, I’d strongly consider this one.
Not everyone wants some old west coach gun, or something you’d see outside an English manor, or to own the same thing as your local cops.
Looks pretty cool to me actually, and you certainly can’t argue with the capacity.
Just from looking at it, it would appear that you have to manually cycle the magazines, which would make it a fast-loading 5+1 semi.
What’s freaking wrong with giving it a nice simple box magazine?!?!
Someone resurrect the H&K CAW please. Not only was it less…..bulky but it used a box magazine! Though please make it run with normal shotgun ammo, not all brass.

If your looking for a work of art, go buy a painting and hang it over your shoulder. What are we looking at here? A WEAPON! What does a weapon of this caliber do?
It equalizes ones defensive capability to prevent the loss of your or another’s immediate loss of life, period! It’s not a fashion statement or a wanna look cool moment. Death is not cool or sexy. When that dreaded live or die moment suddenly stares you in the face, ugly is what comes next. The best reliable and easy to employ solution is what’s most important. I do not want to become ugly.
RS. DAV Vietnam conflict. Have a safe day.
