If you don’t own an UpLULA magazine loader, turn your computer off now – I mean right now – go out to your nearest gun store and buy yourself one. I said NOW. Yes, they’re that good. I got mine when I bought my M&P9. Smith & Wesson was nice enough to include one with the gun. I’ve owned a few magazine loader thingies before. They’re mostly plastic rectangles with a little priapic piece used to push the rounds down in the magazine. By comparison, the UpLULA is like a SL63 AMG compared to a Smart Cabrio. They both do basically the same thing, but one does it much more beautifully, powerfully and comfortably. Maglula has just announced a new loader, their Range BenchLoader for USGI and PMAGs. It’s not cheap, but if you shoot much, this thing will safe you tons of time and some seriously bruised thumbs . . .

The Range BenchLoader™ loaders is a heavy-duty industrial 5.56 / .223 cal magazine loaders made to load a magazine in a single hand stroke. • I would load only 3-5 rounds at a time at the range. While reloading you take a break, get a new grip on the firearm, reassess what was right or wrong along with your shot placement, and start over fresh. It doesn’t only make the ammo last longer.

  1. Anyone loading colt-pattern 9MM AR magazines is seriously doing it wrong. The maglula is no joke, I just only wish I had bought one far, far sooner. This looks like a must-have as well, even though standard AR mags are not thumb killers.

Dan, check out the new S65 AMG Coupe… first Merc I’ve driven since the SLR that really got my attention.

  2. I’m not a black rifle guy, but that’s pretty handy. I’d probably need to be choking down a pretty hefty ammo sum to where the time saved by this thing would warrant the price tag.

  3. He’s not joking. If you don’t own an upLula mag loader, go get one like right now. I have one. They ARE that good.

      • The year I discovered them, I gave one to everyone I knew for Christmas. Ok, I didn’t really… but I should have! They really really are THAT awesome!

  4. Really? I have been using stripper clips and guides ala US Milspec, storing the product in bandoliers, cost is around $20 for enough to store 800 rounds ready to speed-load into magazines. Don’t really feel a need for more. For another question, how did those BBs get into that loader? To have 60 rounds ready to load into magazines, do you need to buy 2?

  5. For a $165.00 I’ll load mine by hand and use the money for more ammo..unless the Zombie Apocalypse happens.. then I’m all over it.

  6. This takes pleasure out of loading mags the night before a day of plinking.
Good movie, an ammo can full of fresh reloads, 40-50 empty mags, hand inspection of every round and magazine.
    Good to go!

  7. I will be in the garage trying to make one of these out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands, if you guys need me.

  8. I find the HKS speed loaders to be a big improvement over the maglula style. But I never see anybody talk about them. I wonder if it’s just me.

    • Yes I do believe it pretty much is just you. Most folks greatly prefer the Maglula. Not to mention it’s much more universal so the single unit can load basically all of your centerfire pistol mags, whereas the HKS speedloader things are made for specific models…

      • The HKS is faster to load with and doesn’t need to be pressed against anything while using it. And its about 1/3rd to 1/4 quarter the price of uplula. But yes, it is does need different versions for different magazines.

  9. Let’s see, I have three mags, and they are ten rounds each (and California won’t let me have anything bigger). So why do I need this exactly? At $165, that’s like 500 rounds of ammo, amiright?

  10. Really? With all the single stack nines coming out, they ignore that and go with a $165 zombie mag loader? Sure you can use the double stack nine on a single stack – or trim a .380 big enough like I did. But a dedicated single stack nine mag loader in the face of the biggest CCW sales in decades and they ignore that for the upscale 3Gun shooter?
Will it load the new 60 round Magpul drum mag?

  11. The thing I don’t get about a lot of these AR “speed” loaders, you have to load the speed loader and then mount it on the magazine and then stuff the magazine. Is that really any faster than stuffing mags from a pile of bullets? If you get into a good rhythm I find that unlikely.

The only exception to this is if you have a lot of ammo on stripper clips, the StripLula is 1000x better than the metal spoons that come in the box with strip loaded ammo. Anything that needs to be loaded before you can load the magazines is stupid. Like Tom in OR said up above I just like stuffing mags, it’s cathartic, and no tools to keep track of.

    • It may not be faster, but it’s much more comfortable. You’re using far more gross motor skills here, less repetitive motion, less force, etc. If your rounds aren’t randomly organized (as they are in the video), but instead lined up all in the same direction, it’s as fast and simply dumping them in to the tray.

Far less fatigue using something like this if you have to load a large amount of magazines.

  12. It looks handy, but given the volume I load I’ll stick with my trusty UpLula.

What’s with the music? It sounds like what gets played on TV when the winning lottery numbers are selected.

  13. I used to be obsessed with having a million magazines for all myguns that i could load very quickly but after nearly being bankrupt by my ammo bill, I now like to load slowly and even use those politically correct 10 round magazines.

  14. I found loading ammo into 9 mags was a royal PITA by the time I get to the fifth or sixth round, with my big fat fingers being pinched, etc. The MagLula was just what I needed, piece of cake now. I’ll mos def check ’em out for the AR platforms as well. Highly recommended by your northern Vermont correspondent, where it is a balmy 14 degrees today.

  15. They did it for the wrong mags. The stripLULA is plenty fast for mere mortals. AK and Galil mags, which have no useful stripper clip system, are the ones that need this kind of system.

  16. Turn my computer off? to buy something? what are you effing nuts? This is 2015!.

I buy nearly everything online now. And, I broke my online gun virginity a while ago. OMG! guns! from the internet! and no one has been murdered!!

btw I have the uplula pistol loader. meh.

    • Yeah, but until Amazon has “Drone Delivery” you’re still waiting for your purchase. I think the sentiment here is “You need this in your possession RIGHT FRIGGIN’ NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  17. Geez, I have a 50 round loader for AR-15s: the Caldwell Mag Charger. You can load a 30 and a 20. Or, if you are in certain states, five 10 rounders.

50 is “way more better” than 30!

  18. Looks like a nice product.

The audio on the video was horrendous. It reminded me of a cross between the audio found on an old Japanese Super Nintendo game and that of a porno.

  19. Some of my 22 round glock .40 mags are a nightmare to get the last round(s) in. I’d probably buy something to load those. 30-40 round .223 pmags are a cake walk compared to those..

  20. I can’t believe how cheap people are….is $165 really going to put you in the poor house? If so, get another hobby or get a 2nd job. Yeesh!

  21. I bought one today. I was in new Hampshire and saw it at the sig sauer store. I paid $150. I have not used it yet but playing with it at the counter convinced me it is worth every penny it cost. I’m sure my kid and friends will be over using it too once they see it.

  22. In this article, I will teach you steps to make videos over a computer in three different ways:.
There is no need of bringing in a specialist to help increase computer
performance as possible done easily by any individual.
Good practice is additionally to not leave your mini
laptop already there, especially if you have children, as to them
it’s going to resemble an extremely interesting toy to experience with.
