Nightforce Optics is rolling out a new reticle for their scopes. While other optics companies seem content with standard metrics on their scopes (Mil Dots, MOA, etc) Nightforce is producing custom reticles for individual firearms and loads. Hand them your caliber, the ballistic coefficient of your bullets, and a confirmed muzzle velocity and they will provide a scope with distance markings precisely calibrated to your rifle and ammunition. They’ve been doing this for scopes out to 600 yards for a while now, but the big news is that they’re going to be producing a 1,000 yard version soon with markings every 100 yards between 400 and 1,000. These reticles will be available for their 5.5-22x NXS and 3.5-15x NXS models, pricing to be announced later (probably not cheap). Who’s got a .50 BMG rifle they want to lend me?
I guess this is what keeps Nightforce Optics ahead from the rest of the lot. They constantly improve their standards by introducing better technologies to improve user experience. It’s been sometimes now that I got NXS 3.5-15×50 F1 and am happy using it.
