Yeah, I know, not my “Area of Operations” for the day. But this photo op was just too good to pass up. The NRA President, flanked by the NRA Treasurer, Wayne LaPierre, and Larry Potterfield of MidwayUSA (probably having something to do with the $6 Million check he has in the background there to the NRA) delivered a speech about how awesome the convention is going to be, and then cut the ribbon to open the convention.
LaPierre then stuck around to shake hands, sign autographs, and admonish the crowd that “all of this is because of you, the members!”
