Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be a wanna-be gangsta. Domonic Gaines is apparently proud of two things: his baby daughter, Paradise, and his gun. Well, his BB gun, actually. Anyway, Dom thought he’d establish a little street cred by posing for a pic with the tyke and the pistol, then posting the pic on his MyFace page. His wife’s mom, though, is technologically adept enough to have seen the pic and was less than amused. Alarmed for the safety of her granddaughter, she called the local 5-0 and now Gaines is facing child endangerment charges. We’d love to show you the offending pic, but haven’t been able to locate it. Nor were the sleuths at myfox19.com. “‘It’s really been blown out of proportion,’ said Gaines’ father, Wilson Dykes.” We don’t know how the criminal case will go, but can imagine that Thanksgiving dinner at the Gaines house may be a little awkward this year.
The Grandmother better have a good Lawyer as I doubt she will ever be allowed to see her grandchild again after calling the cops on that.
Thanks
Robert
You can say I’m judging the book based on the cover but based on th neck tattoo, I’m guessing he’s posing with a BB gun because he can’t buy a real pistol….
I suppose the most important and unknown piece of info in this story is: was the weapon pointed at the baby?
uhg, wanna be gangsta idiot.
Just another example of why it pays to watch what you post online.
Especially with how this country is trending towards Britain.

I’m wondering if we’ll ever get to see it. I think it’s effing insane that he’s being held without bond over a photograph.
“Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be a wanna-be gangsta.”
“Dom thought he’d establish a little street cred”
What’s the evidence (or point) of either of these statements?
So was he pointing it at the baby’s head? Cuz I’ve taken pictures with my son in my lap with a rifle across his wearing his best baby woodsman outfit. I’m nit sure if this guys and a$$hole or someone about to be railroaded.
…someone about to be railroaded.
When wanting to make someone an example, and make a behavior generally unacceptable, one of the initial steps is to start out with someone who’s generally an unsympathetic character, and make sure they don’t have any money. You can now associate that which yo wish to regulate with people your target market already doesn’t like.
Were this a cute, white, middle-class mom, no DA would touch it with a ten-foot pole.
But now, they have created a new talking point for the Lardassian/RealRetards/TheVapid/whatever watchers.
Nope, the BB gun wasn’t pointed at the baby according to this story on the same event: http://www.wlwt.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/Man-arrested-after-posting-FB-photo-with-baby-gun/-/13550662/18305226/-/10crb1l/-/index.html
This story also mentions the fact that Gaines is currently divorced from the baby’s mother. I’ll let you decide if you think that might have anything to do with this story potentially being blown out of proportions.
Wow!! Glad I haven’t posted any pics of my GF’s 11 year old daughter shooting her pink and stainless .22lr we bought her for Christmas!! My God the Dept of Himan Services woul have me under the jail for terroristic grandiose blatant child endangerment with a firearm!!! /sarc off!!
Isn’t there any common sense left in the country? Well at least he didn’t show a bubble gun, he would really be in trouble then.

Obituary of Common Sense
Today, we mourn the passing of an old friend by the name of Common Sense.
Common Sense lived a long life, but died from heart failure at the brink of the Millennium. No one really knows how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He selflessly devoted his life to service in schools; hospitals, homes, factories and offices, helping folks get jobs done without fanfare and foolishness.
For decades, petty rules, silly laws and frivolous lawsuits held no power over Common Sense. He was credited with cultivating such valued lessons as to know when to come in from rain, the early bird gets the worm and life isn’t always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn), reliable parenting strategies (the adults are in charge, not the kids), and it’s okay to come in second.
A veteran of the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, and the Technological Revolution, Common Sense survived cultural and educational trends including feminism, body piercing, whole language and new math.
But his health declined when he became infected with the “if-it-only-helps-one-person-it’s-worth-it” virus. In recent decades, his waning strength proved no match for the ravages of overbearing federal legislation.
He watched in pain as good people became ruled by self-seeking lawyers and enlightened auditors. His health rapidly deteriorated when schools endlessly implemented zero tolerance policies; when reports were heard of six year old boys charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; when a teen was suspended for taking a swig of mouthwash after lunch; when a teacher was fired for reprimanding an unruly student. It declined even further when schools had to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but couldn’t inform the parent when a female student is pregnant or wants an abortion.
Finally, Common Sense lost his will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, criminals received better treatment than victims, and federal judges stuck their noses in everything from Boy Scouts to professional sports.
As the end neared, Common Sense drifted in and out of logic but was kept informed of developments, regarding questionable regulations for asbestos, low-flow toilets, smart guns, the nurturing of Prohibition Laws and mandatory air bags.
Finally, when told that the homeowners association restricted exterior furniture only to that which enhanced property values, he breathed his last.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son Reason. His three stepbrothers survive him: Rights, Tolerance and Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
Here’s the pic http://www.dailydot.com/news/dominic-gaines-baby-gun-facebook-arrest/
-1 for trigger discipline.
Look again. His fingers are wrapped around the grip under the trigger guard.
Finger off the trigger, pointed away from the baby. Nothing to see here.
OK, the kid was stupid for posting the pic, and probably showed sub-optimal judgment for not putting the BB gun down so he had two hands for the baby.
This is some DA trying to send a message.
This is me DCOA’ing a 1911 with my 1.5 year old.
Technically I guess you could say he is holding a gun.

Other than the wannabe thug motif, I really don’t see a problem w this. BB Gun, not loaded, not pointed at the baby, finger off trigger… SFW!
As the years go by, I think either I’m getting wiser, or the world is getting dumber, or both. More and more I’m amazed at how stupid things get. Granted that it’s not best to pose with baby and gun, but how in the world is that picture evidence of child endangerment?
How about giving the sarcastic “OMG OMG OMG” titles a rest?
