Our recent post from a New Jersey reader detailing what happened to him when he watched a YouTube video about the Ruger Mini 14 on his public transit commute home one evening drew plenty of comment. And a number of people wanted to know what video provoked such horror. Well, the cursed commuter has since ID’d the offending vid for us. It’s this epic Nutnfancy production reviewing the venerable Ruger rifle. Be careful where you view this. And who may be looking over your shoulder.
GUN PORN!!! Nice…:)
Can someone let me know at what minute Nutnfancy beheads someone and salutes the German eagle? I don’t want to have to watch the whole thing…
I wonder if watching “Down Fall” would get the same reaction
Or Falling Down. (1993, Michael Douglas)
“I’ve passed the point of no return. Do you know what that is, Beth? That’s the point in a journey where it’s longer to go back to the beginning. It’s like when those astronauts got in trouble. I don’t know, somebody messed up, and they had to get them back to Earth. But they had passed the point of no return. They were on the other side of the moon and were out of contact for like hours. Everybody waited to see if a bunch of dead guys in a can would pop out the other side. Well, that’s me. I’m on the other side of the moon now and everybody is going to have to wait until I pop out.” ~Bill Foster
“That’s the point in a journey where it’s longer to go back to the beginning.
One of the oddest sentence constructions I’ve ever encountered!

LOL. For like, MINUTES!
I liked Mike’s father, Kirk, but I never could stand Mike Douglas.
“That’s the point in a journey where it’s longer to go back to the beginning.”
I’ve never seen the movie in question, but that’s not the definition of “point of no return”.
Point of no Return is not the point where return would take longer. That’s just a halfway point. It’s the point where return is no longer possible.
That NJ fellow forgot about never talking to cops. About the only words out of your mouth in a situation like that should be:
1. Am I being detained? (If no answer, leave. If they say you’re “detained,” then ask:)
2. Under suspicion of what crime am I being detained? (If they can’t come up with one, leave; if they do conjure up something, then say:)
3. I do not consent to any searches or seizures and demand to have an attorney present for any more questioning.
That’s all I’d ever say to one.
I am surprised that they didn’t confiscate his laptop.
True. Lucky it wasn’t the Dept. of Homeland Sekuritaz.

zerohedge FTW.
Of course, that action could have cost several thousand dollars for an lawyer which he may not be able to afford, some time spent in jail and maybe even loss of his job. I think he did fine. If things had started to go bad he could always have always shut up and ask for a lawyer.
Doubleplusgood!
Watch the whole thing and you qualify under the MrColionNoir standardized test as a “Gun Nut”!
My conversion to the Dark (rifle) Side is complete! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Why does his videos just keep getting longer. I mean seriously man wtf can he possibly need to say?
“Why DOES his videos”? C’MON, man!
I couldn’t stand his vids when they were 10mins, even worse if its 50mins. His voice is so annoying…
And they call US paranoid!
today’s fun fact:
A small number of straight-pull, bolt-action only Mini-14 and Mini-30 rifles were manufactured for sale in the United Kingdom. (wikipedia)
I don’t believe it matters where you “view this” because it’s no longer a question of who is looking over your shoulder.
A couple of days ago I pulled up TTAG and an ad for Amazon.com featuring toys was running in the side bar.
Every toy featured was a toy I had researched on Amazon for my grandson the night before.
Just minutes ago I pulled up TTAG to catch up on the latest.
An ad for J & P Cycles is running in the side bar.
Every product featured is a product I am considering at present.
The question is who is looking over your keyboard and when.
The answers are everyone and every minute.
Privacy is a condition of the past.

Looks like Bill Ruger struck back from the grave. Only screaming chicken in the vid was Nutn’s response letter from Bill back in the 90’s that he waved in front of the camera 🙂
Awesome. This video just convinced me to buy a mini 14.
I love nutnfancy. Guy does pretty dam good gear and gun review vids. Can get a little long winded on philosophy of use but it does make sense. Can get really long bout political philosophy but i agree with him most of the time. Anyway point is the guy is one of the best gear reviewers out there in my opinion.
I watched it when it came out, but honestly, why would anyone buy a Mini 14 when “Sport” AR 15’s are available? I mean, right now, if it’s all you can get, sure, I can see that, but under normal market conditions, is there any market at all for this firearm any more?
If what you’re saying is that a sporter AR is comparable to a mini-14, then it would come down to aesthetics. I, myself, would prefer a mini-14 over an AR any day of the week. I personally like the look of a mini-14 more than an AR.
If there was a Mini14 that accepted AR mags, I’d probably jump on one quick; but I’m not about to buy new magazines for another 5.56 … I like that there’s no buffer tube behind the action to dictate what type of stock you have to use.
Let’s face it folks, I don’t think it’s “normal” to get through an entire nutnfancy video. That sucker is 45 minutes and change!
Seriously though, I wouldn’t detain someone for that. Even BHO is ok with assault computers, so long as there is no 4th Amendment rights within 100 miles of the border.
You may or may not get kicked off a bus and go to jail for watching this video, but I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty if you watch any video by this guy you will get bored and/or go to sleep. He just keeps talking and talking.
Albeit I was in another country (the UK), but it reminds me of the time I was going through airport security with a couple of gun mags in my carry-on and airport security pulled me aside and read me the riot act for the “Violent Literature” I was traveling with and confiscated all my mags.
It really is scary when pictures of things can cause such a strong reaction out of people!
