“The social media presence of Michigan triple-homicide suspect Brady Oestrike shows a heavy focus on guns and gun rights,” mlive.com reports. “On his Facebook page, Oestrike’s main photo shows a cartoon character holding a gun and with a machine gun feed around her neck. In various posts, he champions gun rights. One picture shows a sheep armed with a type of grenade or rocket launcher.” That would be the picture above – which makes a point about liberty that mlive.com forgets to mention. But wait! That’s not all . . .

Oestrike also has shown a presence on AR15.com forums, talking about guns and triggers. He also is described as a “junior member” on Armslist.com.

Oerstrike’s Facebook photos show that he may have participated in some sort of medieval re-enactments at some point. He is shown with swords in one photo.

The photos also show a softer side. He is pictured holding a baby in another photo.

In one of the photos with him holding a baby, a handgun can be seen on a table next to him. [above]

Which proves . . . what? Did he shoot his victims to express his support for Americans’ natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms? I don’t think so. Equally, how many killers supported gun control (e.g., ex-LA cop Chris Dorner)? What did the mainstream media say about Dorner’s anti-gun diatribe in his manifesto. Nothing. Not one word.

As far as I can tell, Oestrike’s political views had nothing to do with his crime. mlive’s attempt to paint Oestrike as a “gun nut” and link that to his heinous act – Michigan triple homicide suspect’s social media presence shows firearms and gun rights support – is a heinous act. It emboldens those who make it difficult if not impossible for average Americans to defend themselves against brutal killers. Like Brady Oestrike.

  1. there are 80 million legal gun owners in this country odds are at least one is going to be crazy. trying to engage with the left is pointless they see the world fundamentally different from reality.

    • There are 400 million people in the US. To paint them with the same brush is prejudice. A certain monster in Newtown owned no firearms.

Crazy is crazy regardless of means.

Stop banning objects. Especially those that are protected explicitly in the Constitution.

  2. And this guy will become the left’s new poster child for anti gun agitprop in 3…2…1

  3. According to the comments (I have not independently verified) he also like a gay rights page and John Stewart.

And that has nothing to do with why he may have killed these people. Just like support of gun rights has nothing to do with it.

Some people need to find anything to confirm their own biases. The guy killed people. The end.

  4. Yep. I’m not perfect. And insanity runs IN. my family…or not Most people striving for righteousness are vexed daily by the lowlife criminals walking the street. I was reminded by the mention of Charles Bronson in the James Garner post. And yeah with many millions of POTG there’s bound to be a few crazy folk. It sure as h##l doesn’t mean I lose my rights.

  5. Ironic the gun grabbers make a stink about this but their deafening silence with respect to Leland Yee proves their efforts are purely political.

    • For all the ongoing coverage that stinkin’ Democrat elitist progressive Yee got, you’d think he’d died and fell into a fire pit never to be seen or heard from again.

If it had been a conservative pro gun rights Republican the coverage would have been hot’n heavy with follow up reports for weeks, and regular updates to remind everyone of the scandalous breach of trust and criminal acts committed.

E’ffing Comment Moderated a-hole Comment Moderated bigoted Comenterated Moderated Democrat Comment Moderateds that make-up the usually stupid leftist media. We’d all be better off without much of that crowd of biased editorializing idiots, even the liberals amongst us.

      /end rant/

  6. So what? Let’s just go ahead and stipulate that this guys believes in one person one vote, secret ballots, free speech, freedom from self-incrimination, and maybe a hundred other civil rights in addition to the right to keep and bear arms.

What does that have to do with the price of 7.62x39mm in China?

  7. mlive’s attempt to paint Oestrike as a “gun nut” is an act of sheer grandstanding and desperation to make a point, any point. A waste of electrons.

  8. He was also involved in some pretty serious fetish stuff, including putting a pregnant 18-year old in a piece of luggage and driving her home in his trunk to do who-knows-what at the destination. Makes you wonder what else the 18 year-old victim was doing. Prostitution doesn’t really make her as innocent as they make her out to be. But lets not look at that, instead lets point out he has posted on AR-15.com and Armslist.

And since when is a double homicide/suicide a triple homicide? I’m sure Oestrike will be on the list of “gun violence, as well as everyone on his Facebook friends list.

    I do like this comment:
    “Thomas Jankins 2 days ago

As a gun rights person who is affiliated with MCRGO, MGO and MOC, I have NO idea who this guy is or was and I LIVE in Wyoming. I saw nothing that lead me to believe he was a gun rights support in that video, just mentally ill. As someone else pointed out he is also “liked” Pride so why is MLIVE not labeling him a gay rights activist too? Seems as though someone has an agenda…”
