IWI’s Tavor SAR rifle won our Reader’s Choice award for Best Rifle of 2013, and they’ll be receiving the award later today. But for now, enjoy this cutaway model that shows all of the operating parts.

    • Not from the factory. It would require some kind of gun smith work to make it MD legal. The reason why is the longest version is still 1/2 inch to short.

      Thanks

  1. the sacrifice of one for the pleasure of many (weep…) they can’t hurt you any more tavor…(weep)

  2. Steve in MD,

They currently do not make one that is MD legal. Which is why I bought two last year, one for me and a lefty for the wife. Prior to 1 Oct 13, I was able to buy them without the MD State Police check, since they were so new they weren’t on the regulated weapons list. So walk in, NCIS check, walk out, pew pew.

      • Lefty conversion puts in a different bolt that ejects brass to the left instead of the right, and moved the selector switch and charging handle to the other side. The Tavor can be fired with either hand, but it can be set up to be more comfortable for a lefty shooter. Apparently, that’s a big deal for lefties.

  3. Sure FateofDestinee has a whole video of the 9mm conversion and all TTAG get’s is a picture of the cutaway….

    Weak Sauce.
