Over the last couple days I’ve been given the opportunity to hang around at SIG SAUER’s training facility and test out a lot of their new stuff. On the rifle side, SIG is finally close to completing their MCX rifle and are on the verge of releasing the MPX. For handguns, the new modular P320 is now shipping with more varieties to come. I’ll have a full write up of everything as soon as I get a spare moment, but until then enjoy the snaps . . .

  1. So… is there anything about the design that precludes Sig eventually making a version of the MPX in .45 ACP?

(The guys at Sig have to be aware that many Americans have an irrational infatuation with that caliber)

  2. Oh! I suddenly wonder if I can get a semi version of one of those MPX’s as a pistol and stuck a sig AR brace on it. 😀

  3. Ok, what kind of licensing and tax stampage do I need to get one of those MPX’s? And I do mean full auto.

    • Not produced before ’86 = not for civilians. Basically means the only way you’ll get to play with a full-auto model is to join a police department and convince your chief to issue you one.

      Or move to another country.

    • You can’t, unless you have the right kind of business that actually sells to government agencies of some kind. And they do check up on your business at that point to make sure it’s not just your access to fun toys.

Private citizens can’t get any full auto that wasn’t in the NFA registry as of 1986.

      • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Fine, I’ll just get the pistol version, slap a SIG brace and a Taccom 3MR trigger on it, and one of those weird fuel-filters-that-are-in-no-way-a-suppressor.
The ATF can suck my COMMENT MODERATED

  4. I’ve never been too much of a Sig fan personally, but 1) The X5 and X6 variants are sexy and 2) now that SBRs are legal in WA I think that integrally suppressed SBR MPX is at the very top of my “want” list. No question. That’s sick.

  5. What is that interesting looking belt-fed fun maker in the first picture? I see the remains of some recent aromatherapy off to the right.

  6. Excuse me. I must go to another room so no one sees me turn absolutely emerald green with envy! Damn it! Jealousy is SO unbecoming..

    • Well, they did a 551 SBR and 551 pistol, though I believe they’re going to be replaced by the 556xi. The 553 is made by Swiss Arms in Switzerland instead of SIG Sauer in New Hampshire and there’s not going to be any more of them. This makes me sad.

  7. Are we supposed to be awe inspired, or scared, by the ammount of fouling inside the cutaway suppressor?
