Pope Slams Weapons Makers as Controllers of the ‘Puppet-Strings of War’

83

Pope Francis on Monday blasted the weapons industry and its “instruments of death” that fuel wars as he made a Christmas Day appeal for peace in the world and in particular between Israel and the Palestinians. …

He called for governments and people of goodwill in the Americas in particular to address the “troubling phenomenon” of migration and its “unscrupulous traffickers” who take advantage of innocents just looking for a better life.

He took particular aim at the weapons industry, which he said was fueling the conflicts around the globe with scarcely anyone paying attention.

“It should be talked about and written about, so as to bring to light the interests and the profits that move the puppet strings of war,” he said. “And how can we even speak of peace, when arms production, sales and trade are on the rise?”

        • lots of arms manufacturers in Europe…especially eastern Europe…you thought all those AK’s were coming from russia and china?….

        • Ditto! The more I learned, the more I thought “This sh!t be crazy!” lol Can’t understand why so many STILL follow anything this particular “useful idiot” utters…

  1. Hmmm. I can get on board with the Pope to some extent. Eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex. Today, we can see Biden at the helm of that complex, shipping arms to Ukraine as fast as, or faster than, the complex can build arms. He has depleted stockpiles of weapons around Europe, in Israel, and here in the US. There are billions in profits available, gotta keep the wars going!

Problem is, the Pope and a lot of his followers conflate modern sporting arms with “weapons of war”. The small town gunsmith who produces a few dozen semi-autos annually are just as guilty of billions of deaths as, say, Raytheon, or Boeing.

      • Shucks pope the US should have saved blood and ammo and left Italy to worship the industrious nazis. Bottom line…Pedro’s Mustache is correct.

        • Due to the signing of the Lateran Treaty of 1929,The Vatican was considered a Neutral Country, and declared off limits to both Alllied and German bombing. Good thing that the pope had made a devil’s agreement with Hitler himself and the Brits and Americans were both afraid of excommunication should any harm befall any of those precious 122 acres.

  2. It’s all Colts fault because they make a rifle.
Has absolutely nothing to do with 1%ers playing posturing politicians against each other or funding nationally destructive policies and programs worldwide for fun and profit.

    • The universe was born from violence, and will die in violence. Where there is life, there is death.

“In the dimness of the shadows
      Where we hairy heathens warred,
      I can taste in thought the lifeblood;
We used teeth before the sword.”

      (Through a Glass, Darkly)

      • “Through the travail of the ages,
Midst the pomp and toil of war,
Have I fought and strove and perished
        Countless times upon this star.”

(Through a Glass, Darkly by General Patton)

  3. So, the Swiss Guard will be giving up their Sigs, right? Personal (plain clothes) bodyguards carry Glock 19s and H&K MP7s…

    • “So, the Swiss Guard will be giving up their Sigs, right?”

How ironic someone protected by guns, wants me to give up mine.

Practice what you preach, your Holiness…

      • Just remember that the Pope started 2020 by slapping a woman in the face for touching him, meaning The Pope has physically assaulted more people in public than the vast majority of American gun owners combined.

    • The pope is (possibly unwittingly) working overtime to awaken the Remnants.
Funny, in all the years going to a Catholic school (K through 8th) and Roman Catholic church (over 4 decades) the Remnants were never spoken of.

      I wonder why? -SARC-

  4. So Pope Bernie doesn’t believe people are inherently evil, and they were killing each other with rocks after they started walking upright!!

  5. This pope seems to be shaping up as a disaster for the Catholic faith. At least he’s being consistent about it.

  6. So the dude in a dress who “blesses” happy folk & who’s organization killed and persecuted millions of non orthodox Catholics hates gats? What a maroon. Or scarlet🙄.The new president of Argentina rightly labels him a communist.

    • The Church has committed many atrocities. Are you aware they threw half of Europe to Islam back in the day? Better that people be brought under the heel of Islam, than to be allowed to worship freely, outside the influence of the Pope. People free to worship a loving God was a heresy to the Church. There were reasons literacy rates were kept negligible throughout early Christian history.

  7. And Jesus said; Let him who hath no sword, let him sell his cloak and get him one.

Remember Jesus, Francis? Sure you’re not working against him?

  8. Says the satanist…He’s a mouthpiece for the deep state and demonic.

He’s the furthest thing from a ‘Pope’. “Spend less on Christmas and give to Ukraine”….Sure, so he can get his cut of the pie from the fraudfest. Also, what’s the deal with the Vatican snake room? Purely satanic. He’s a piece of Sh## and not too be trusted.

  9. I’m just here to remind people that the first written record of the Catholic Church’s official policy of turning a blind eye to pedophilia by its priests and moving them around instead of reporting them to authorities is from the eleventh century, meaning that they have known and done nothing to protect people from themselves for nearly a thousand years.

You know, just in case you ever thought the popes were ever moral authorities that we should listen to.

      • Yeah, but now it’s okay again (in many big cities they no longer prosecute several violent crimes (non-crimes?), you know history repeats and all that…

    • just in case you ever thought the popes were ever moral authorities that we should listen to.

      Never had that problem…

  10. I dont care what a old man in a funny hat says.
Support your local gun shop and your favorite firearms maker.

  11. Guys, he isn’t exactly wrong. Let’s add some nuance. There is a war lobby. I don’t buy my weapons from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, or General Dynamics, etc. I’m fairly certain I’m not supporting the war lobby when I buy from Ruger, S&W, or Wilson Combat.

Francis…has said that wars today, in Ukraine, in particular, are being used to…use up old stockpiles.

Bingo! Francis is right. General Mark Milley’s following comment makes sense in the proper context. Trump said Milley told him we should leave everything behind in Afghanistan because it would be cheaper than removing it. He obviously told the Puppet’s team the same thing. Has anyone noticed the revolving door of high ranking military and DoD officials with the defense industry? There’s a reason for all things.

Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin (Pulled from wiki):

Immediately after retiring as CENTCOM Commander, Austin joined the board of Raytheon Technologies, a military contractor, in April 2016. As of October 2020, his Raytheon stock holdings were worth roughly $500,000 and his compensation, including stock, totaled $2.7 million

    • Austin – the 1970s vintage WooPoo quota baby? And Woketard Milley.

The commie pinko Fauxpope has not been right about ANYTHING while in Rome.

You need to find some better rolemodels.

  12. For those that have not been paying attention. The Africans are essentially moving in the direction to break away from the European Catholic Church. And form their own separate sect. Because they are tired of these white Europeans destroying the great religion of Catholicism.

Yes that’s right I said it. They are sick of the left wing liberalism, that has infected the churches in the west. And that infestation has been rejected by the African Christians.

Even the american government send vice president harris to africa, to promote h0m0sexuality in the african states. Which they completely reject. The current Pope is a communist.

As far as guns go. They are just as difficult to get as they are in the jewish state of israel.

  13. LOLOLOL

I was raised Lutheran, and was told Revelation had already happened and the pope was the anti-Christ.

    • well, if you would take tome time and read the history of the time period from about 10 BC through abount 80 or 9o AD there would be no question that EVERYTHING John wrote in his revelation of Jesus Christ HAS indeed happened. In detail, and to an impossible to fake level of accuracy.
As to da pope.. no he is not “the antichrist” The concept of one antichrist kingpin who will do this or that, its all a false construct coming from Darby and Scofield in the early to mid 1800’s. Read John’s first two letters where he tells us all the bible has to say bout antichrist. It is very simple;; Jesus said “he who is not with ,e is against me”. ohn defines those who deny that Jesus has come in the flesh are “of antichrist”, that is, against Christ. And there are many of those… certainly this creature referring to himself as “the vicar (placeholder) of CHrist is of the spirit that is against (or “anti”) CHrist. This critter does NOT know Jesus, else he would not be saying what he says. The pope is sup[osed to be “the vicar (place=holder) of CHrist. Nope. Jesus is big enough He does not need anyone to hold his place or even represent Him. We who follow HIm represent Him. Milions of us. Probably even billions. And this one guy is deluded enough to think HE is “it”? Nah…….
this comong from a guy who was raised in that church and was faithful for the first forty years of his life.

  14. The original military industrial complex complaint. Was against small firearms manufacturers. Because during World War I both sides, US and Germany, were using the same weapons. I believe the US paid a license fee for the Springfield mauser copy. Or you had foreign manufacturing companies operating inside enemy countries. But selling weapons to their opponents.

Also, you had Ford auto company plants in Germany during WW2. I was told once that the american government paid reparations to the Ford motor company. When the eighth Air Force bombed those plants. I don’t know if that story is true or not.

  15. Pope Francis ought to sick to religion and not worry about “weapons of war” (every gun ever made was at one time or another a “weapon of war”).

    • along with rocks, slings, spears, swords, clubs………

the boob also seems to have lost the addressess of quite a number if instances where God had ordered His people to FIGHT.. make war n various enemies over a few thousand years. Weret those wars “illegal”? He is about as consistent as my chicken is when she wanders about the yard looking for “things of interest’.

        • 24, “lukewarm? You would not think that is you didn’t know many Catholics. Many and I do mean MANY of us oppose this delving of his into political affairs that have nothing to do with faith and morals.

  16. I don’t think that they spent nearly 200 years waging ” The Holy Crusades ” armed only with King James Bibles to throw at the
    ” enemy “.

  17. Actually, with the pope’s hypocrisy aside, if that’s the entirety of the vatican’s armory, I’m rather disappointed.

    • I realize that they are guarding hundreds of $ Billions in wealth, but even if the entire population of nearly 750 stormed at one time, the Guard would have to be careful to keep all shots within the 1/5 mile contained within their border, so as not to trigger an accidental war with Italy.

    • I just to work with a guy who for years prefaced statements with “Just between you, me, and the Pope…”

Religious icons in his office. A calendar 2 years out of date because it had a picture of the Pope. Anytime anything about…you-know-what…came up, he would say “welll, you have to remember that…”

Pictures of the pope. NONE of his wife and 2 daughters. I worked with him almost 19yrs, and I have no idea what his wife looks like.

In retirement, he’s now a deacon.

      • I worked with a guy whose “captain obvious” question was “does the pope shit in the woods ?” I guess he had previously determined that bears were catholic.

  18. This is what happens when you put marginally competent and frequently corrupt old people in charge and then let senility turn them into someone only an idiot would follow. Sorta like the Dems are doing with Joe Bribem.

  19. More people and entire civilizations have been murdered in the name of the Pope and the Catholic church. Than for any other reason in the history of humanity. Including the involvement of Pope Pius XII in remaining quiet about the slaughter of 6 million Jews by the Nazi’s. In order to keep the Vatican and all it’s riches, from being taken by Hitler.

      • I was studying history when it actually taught in schools. Entire civilizations in Asia, South/Central America, Africa, Europe and the United states. Were eliminated all in the name of the Catholic church. You certainly either failed history or were never taught.

  20. The problem is not and never was guns. None of this posturing means anything mire than an emotional appeal. We could achieve peace if we could remove killers and criminals from our society. We can do that but it doesn’t look like anyone actually wants to.

    • “We could achieve peace if we could remove killers and criminals from our society.”

      No mention of the manipulators?

        • And the least used. Ergo – recidivism! Those that exclaim that the Death Penalty is not a determent have never had it properly applied to them.

    • we’ll always have bad people among us…just the nature of humanity….blaming an object is fruitless…

  21. The papacy has little to no relevance since the Council of Avignon which effectively approved s3x offenses committed by clergy. And then the centuries of cover up and victim blaming and shaming.

  22. Yes, obviously. People fight wars because some people make weapons, not the other way around. It’s so clear now, how did I never see it before?

  23. The Catholic church destroyed millions…maybe billions of lives…and continues to do so.
Careful when you live in a glass house, dude.

  24. The opinion of the scumbag who leads the world’s oldest and largest organized pedophile ring…means absolutely nothing to decent people.

  25. Wonder if the Popes recent edict about people in same-sex relationships is what led to the same-sex (two Marys) Nativity at a Catholic Church in Italy… Gonna need a lot more popcorn next year…

Italian priest defends same-sex nativity scene

STORY: “In our parishes, we see more and more children from the new types of families that exist and are part of our society, children of separated and divorced people, gay couples, single people, young mothers,” Della Sala told Reuters.

Nativity scenes are popular in largely Catholic Italy, but in recent years they have been increasingly mired in culture wars as the country has become more secular and multi-cultural.

Father Della Sala, known in Italy for sympathizing with LGBT and left-wing causes, says his attitude is in line with that of Pope Francis, who this week, in a landmark ruling, allowed priests to bless same-sex couples.

But conservatives are up in arms, with the Pro-Vita & Famiglia (Pro-Life and Family) group calling it “dangerous, as well as shameful and blasphemous”.

  26. Ah yes, the Vatican. I’m sure there’s no blood at all in its ledgers. It’s so advantageous that they would never have to open those ledgers up since they made a deal with Mussolini for sovereignty.

  27. “And thus I clothe my naked villany
With odd old ends stol’n out of holy writ,
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.”

  28. The entire premise of Left-Wing gun control is that evil people automatically become less evil if you take their guns from them. If it also leaves the law-abiding defenseless, tough toenails.

The Pope’s logic is even stupider than that.

  29. he can take his bs and shove it where the sun does not shine.

he thinks his words hold any power to people of other religions believes is amusing, especially after the way his murderous religion has killed so many over time.
