My 16-year-old daughter spends hundreds of hours playing Call of Duty. Rachel doesn’t like firing real guns and recently scored three As, three A stars and two Bs in her UK GCSEs. So we have some anecdotal evidence that violent videogames are not restricted to testosterone-crazed teens. That they’re not the harbinger of the death of modern civilization (even if that’s their favorite scenario). Still, what are we to make of killashanos’s casual attitude towards gun-related combat? Nature (genetics are all) or nurture (game-inspired)? Meanwhile, he’s not wrong about avoiding sniper fire.
