Tracing back a link to TTAG from a forum that I won’t name, a member whom I won’t identify listed his ammo stock [pasted below]. It seems excessive, but who’s to say? Truth be told, I find myself fighting MHA (Must Have Ammo) on a regular basis. My carry ammo above.

.22LR (various types): 7,350 rounds
.22 WMR: 1,700 rounds
.308 Winchester/7.62 NATO: 780 rounds
7.62×39: 1,000 rounds
.223 Remington: 760 rounds
.303 British: 140 rounds
.357 Magnum: 300 rounds
.38 Special: 300 rounds
12ga (birdshot, buckshot, slugs): 480 shells
.410 (birdshot, slugs): 135 shells

Total: 11,845 rounds stored in two safes.

  1. It doesn’t really seem that excessive to me.

On more than one occassion, I’ve burned through a 550 round box of .22 in a day.

So 7000 rounds of .22 could be considered a two-week supply.

I’ve taken a couple of rifle classes before that would have each used up 1/2 of his supply of .308.

So two rifle classes would have totally exhausted his supply of .308, and in those two classes, I shot a bolt action, not a semi-auto.

If anything, I think he needs to shop around for a deal on .303 British.

    But that’s just me.

  2. Looks like a nice supply, but it depends on how many different firearms he has. Also, I wouldn't consider .22LR ammo in ANY inventory of mine. I have 750+ rounds of 40-gr HV .22LR in 250-round bricks, very little of which would be effective in a SHTF situation. Looks like he only has 600 rounds of pistol ammo. I have 1500+ rounds of .45ACP alone, then again in a time of crisis, I'd wish I had more rifle ammo.

  3. Excessive? Man, I’d be nervous if that was all I had! I don’t think I’ll be able to even. start to relax until I have 10k rds… for EACH caliber. No such thing as “too much ammo.”

  4. IMO Farago is using that numbering system that the neighborhood watch guy (Zimmerman?) and his wife used to trick the Florida courts, to keep his bail lower. They reduced everything by a factor of 10! LOL

Either that or RF is a beginner… just like he thinks he is a Playah… lmao

  5. In California that would probably get him put in prison for 25 years to life. Here in Texas, we call it a starter kit.
