“So ultimately, I would respond to Ms. Sanders with a question of my own: If the scholarly research proves that firearms are the best way for people to defend themselves, and there is no evidence that ‘gun control’ reduces gun violence, why does she keep advocating for it? Does she really want to endanger all of us? Please, help me understand.” – Christopher Kierkus in Response to Ms. Sanders: Why guns make America [at tennessean.com]

  1. They either consider themselves OK to own firearms or live in a security bubble. Gun control is about denying Those People guns.

  2. The Anti-gunners fear what they don’t understand & don’t want to understand.

“Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.”
    – Boondock Saints

    • The idea that one’s enemy is pure evil is a scary concept to embrace, like those who believe behavior is ONLY genetic or biological in nature, it means one’s fate and enemy is already predetermined and completely out of one’s control.

And if that be true, the scary part lay in the fact that no one can fix or alter the “problem”, so the only option is being rid of the person/people. Simply translated, death and subjugation is justifiable.

I’m not saying we have befriend enemies, rather, I am saying we need to stop calling them “evil.” Once we call them “evil”, there is little need to understand the enemy and their behavior or motives. Which a vital key in winning a war, and the ONLY key in winning a culture war.

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
      – Sun Tzu

      • The Christ said that to love ones neighbor is relatively easy; but to love ones enemy does true glory unto G-d.

When a person lives that truth, one can do what’s needed to stop the depredations of those that are ones enemy, without becoming them.

But that comes with the understanding that there is evil in the world; just see the actions of the Communists and all of their spawn in the hundreds of millions murdered in the last hundred years, or the mass rape, torture and beheadings of the fundamentalist Muslims.

So the challenge is to embrace the idea to love the sinner, but not the sin. And to act accordingly. So if I need to stop the evil actions of some spiritual brother or sister attempting to committ mass murder against their fellow human beings, regardless of their justifications, I’ll do so without hesitation, but without hate.

        • I accept the notion that there is evil in the world. However, calling one’s enemy the embodiment of evils is how, I believe, evil people deceive good people into doing evil things. So, I will not accept that notion in my world view.

I am not divine, so I cannot determine which actions were based on pure evil or which were based on cultural, genetic, and environmental circumstances.

I believe in 2 things main principles in my spirituality – 1) There is a higher power 2) I am not it.

        • I think we want the same thing..To not become that against which we fight. So what ever method we use to accomplish this is what we are talking about..

          Because that means evil wins.

  3. Many project their own fears over personal safety. Some have a statist agenda. That’s what it boils down to.

  4. “Please, help me understand.” – Christopher Kierkus

    Mr. Kierkus,

Ms. Sanders wants you forcibly disarmed because it FEELS good to Ms. Sanders. Any overarching principles of absolute right or wrong are irrelevant in her world.

In fact any overarching principles of any nature are irrelevant in Ms. Sanders’ world — only FEELINGS matter.

  5. In their view anyone brave enough to buy a gun is a potential criminal if not mass shooter. Unlike the cops who work for the State.

  6. Uh, we already got it, her’s were loaded questions. You’re not unusually bright Mr. Kierkus.

    • On the contrary. He probably does understand where she’s coming from. He’s asking rhetorical questions for the benefit of anyone who might have read her screed and been confused by it.

      • Of course, he understands, that’s why he asked a similarly phrased loaded question in reply. My point was that pretty much everyone is at least that insightful.

  7. Many people do not have the courage to even attempt to defend themselves. This makes them feel bad about themselves. They become jealous of those people who have the courage to defend themselves and that jealously makes them feel even worse about themselves. Then the Unicorns come and tell them that the only way to feel better about themselves is to make it so no one can defend themselves and everyone is the same. These feeble-minded cowards never figure out that Unicorns, as a species, are lying demons who are plotting to take over the World for themselves.

Now that you understand the truth, go out and hunt down and kill every Unicorn you can find, then bitch-slap every feeble minded cowardly Human you encounter until they fight back, then tell them, “See? You can do it! Now, go and cower no more!”

Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.

    • Yes, that is indeed a very large part of it. Much harder to fully control the peasantry when they are as heavily armed as Americans.

  8. “Gun control prevents gun violence!” Is a circular argument if there ever was one.

  9. Oh I know….Because walking to work is better taking your lunch when the sky is green on Thursday. But if you jog in Monday, the library taste better with butter when there’s a full moon. Only then when there’s no wind can you have fun polishing trees. However none of that matters if on Friday dogs ate your pancakes.

  10. Once they take your guns, they can take anything else they want very easily. Your property, your money, your dignity, your life.

Just ask the disarmed Europeans. Any policy the elites wish to impose is good to go. Massive immigration? No problem.

After all, what are you gonna do about it?

    • Don’t get too esoteric here, if it doesn’t jive with Fox News headlines it is likely to be ignored and/or attacked.

  11. Because they are either evil or ignorant. Evil if they fully understand that the first step in facism is the disarming of the populace so as to eliminate the ability to resist. Ignorant if they are weak minded and have bought into the “for the children!”, “guns are evil!” trope. It’s one of the two or a combo of both.

  12. Can we get “The Truth About Blue Force Gear”. There is a significant amount of linkage to their site.

Maybe this was previously addressed and I missed it.

  13. there all evil I trust none of them look at what happen during the german war they disarmed a bunch of people and gave them a train ride to the gas chambers

  14. Only one responce is even close,,,, The only reason they want gun control is so we the people can’t fight back. The Founding Fathers put the second Amendment in the Constitution to protect the public from a tyrannical government. We the people are the militia.
