“I have a very diverse district, and I understand there are a lot of diverse views in my district, and I listen to them and connect with them each day. I do my best to represent them. I voted the way I believe my constituents wanted.” – Colorado State Senator Evie Hudak, In Colorado, another recall effort over guns seeks GOP Senate control [at denverpost.com]
Her best ain’t good enough. You are the weakest link.
Goodbye.
The fact that she told a rape victim that she would have been raped/killed regardless of having a firearm or not is reason enough to kick this B out. Anyone without any empathy for a human being is not fit to be a leader of a girl scout troop, let alone a leader in government.
If an R had made that comment, they would have been vilified infinitum and their political career would have been over. The next day.
Exactly. Todd Akin, anyone?
Not only a lack of empathy, but a willingness to make dogmatic statements on the issue of self-defense. An issue about which she displayed her complete ignorance.
The woman is simply a troll of a human being. Time to send her back under the bridge!
The recall election will determine what her constituents wanted. If she wins, she was right. If she loses, she was wrong and therefore not able to represent her district properly. All very neat and proper. She should actively support the process.
Somehow, though, I suspect that she will be doing a lot of fundraising from people not of her district. And that cries of “recalls are anti-democratic” will be raised.
“Anti democratic”?
Well, thank God, America is actually a Constitutional Republic, so being anti democratic doesn’t really matter.
Republic, sure…Constitutional, not so much these days.
The government itself is a republic, but the election of the members of congress is a democratic process.
“Recalls are anti-Democratic”… Those “progressives” crack me up.
Recalls are a very important tool for any representative government. Sometimes a person runs for office on certain principles, but then ditches them as soon as they get elected and plop their ass down in that big chair. In that case, it is necessary to remove them from office, as they are no longer representing the views of their constituents.
Anti-democratic? Wow. There was no issue with them when it was the Republicans in Wisconsin being recalled. Fvcking hypocrites.
Or maybe they meant that only “Anti-Democratic” (with a capital D) recalls are a problem.
She’s about to find out what her constituents think.
As much as this recall effort warms my heart, I have to wonder if “we” might be pushing our luck.
Probably… same way those hotheads at Bunker Hill pushed their luck.
Let us not forget that the British won at Bunker (Breeds) Hill
Eh, I think it might just make it clear that guns control is a no-no in Colorado… which really shouldn’t have been that surprising to these ‘reps.’
Oh, what a stupid woman! I have an incredibly strong urge to tell her to just STFU and get her ass back in the kitchen…..and I don’t give a rat’s ass if people think that’s sexist or not. SMDH….
Tom
Just don’t forget, we have a lot of females who are major allies in the gun rights battle.
The antis use the woman angle because it elicits sympathy from men, who instinctively try to protect women. We have to do the same thing if we want to win; showing how a gun in the hands of a trained woman can stop a rapist dead in his tracks (literally)
Some issues/votes should be based on constituency, some, like the gun control issues forced on Colorado and other places, are simply unconstitutional, regardless of the whims of her constituents.
“Your best… Losers always whine about their best.”
-Sean Connery
Now get in there and fck the prom queen… Or recall her. Whatever fits.
“That’s a Smith and Wesson, and you’ve had your six (years in office)”
Voting to relieve your constituents of their rights is never a good idea, regardless of what they want….
Can somebody from here / there point out where to donate to?
And no, not to JimBobs personal account, an Org to get rid of this person.

Thank you. Going there now.
As a former Centennial state resident, I’ve chipped in my $20. Hopefully it will help…
Did anyone else catch what the democratic party’s strategy was if enough signatures were collected? They said they will push Hudak to resign so they can cancel the recall and appoint another (presumably anti-gun) Democrat to serve out her term. Talk about a FU to the voters!
What say you?!
Democrats and Bloomberg would try to circumvent the will of the people they so callously profess to represent?
Such heresy!
/…end sarc rant/
Resignation or not. This recall still matters for the ” long game “. Even if they replace her with another anti, it cements the “bad plan” message to future politicians who want to Californicate Colorado.
I also feel that them saying that they’ll ask her to resign and just replace her with another with the same views may just be lip service to lessen enthusiasm and reduce the signatures.
Gaffes aside, few statements in politics are disseminated without a reason. I am in CO but not in her district — hopefully the idea that she’ll be asked to resign isn’t demotivating anyone who is. Even if it is the truth, this message needs to be made crystal clear.
There’s always the chance that if asked to resign, she will refuse to do so. I’d not be surprised if she’s too arrogant to give it any thought.
I have no doubt that the idea was floated to Morse and Giron and they refused.
She’s doing what the party told her. Not what her constituency wants. Too little, too late. You best is laughable.
These recalls are renewing my faith in colorado
A decent society requires four rights to stand on — vote, petition, referendum and recall. I’m glad to see that Coloradans are fighting the good fight and utilizing all their rights.
Besides, Hudak isn’t a Coloradan. She’s a New York City carpetbagger dedicated to advancing New York City’s agenda while svcking on Bloomberg’s teat.
It’s the same Evie Hudak as here:
http://www.denverpost.com/ci_22731898/colorado-sen-evie-hudak-disrespected-rape-victim
I wonder why she wasn’t kicked out of office in the first round of recall elections
As I understand it, it’s because “we” don’t have the resources to collect signatures for more than one high turnout senate district (the number of signatures required to force the recall election is a function of the turnout in the election) like this one, or two low turnout senate districts (like Morse’s and Giron’s). An effort was begun in the last round but quickly abandoned when we realized could chose either Hudak or Morse and Giron.
Remember folks, being a native Coloradoan, I can say that for the most part Colorado is a red state except for Denver, Boulder, Aspen, etc. Arvada used to be a conservative western suburb of Denver. Also Denver especially Boulder have a California copy cat thing going on. i.e. we want to be cool and progressive like SF. Colorado Springs and Fort Collins did their own thing as did the rural areas of Colorado. If you like guns and have to work in a city Colorado Springs and Fort Collins are gun friendly. Boulder is Berkley East or tries hard to be
I spent 4 years at CU Boulder getting a degree. At that time is was very liberal and much different than the rest of the state.
