“I work for a private security firm and we are very interested in your product, but I do have some questions. Are they suitable for self defense and home defense? What kind of wound vectors do they produce? As you know, keeping eco friendly in these times is very important for all of us and we are trying to become as eco friendly as possible.” Undisclosed customer enquiry, quoted in Flower Shell’s inventor on his need to spread seeds with a shotgun [via wired.co.uk]

  1. For some reason, videos have been rendering with a long black tail recently and covering everything under them. Casio G’zOne Commando 4G running Opera Classic browser

  2. Being eco friendly is not on my list when looking for self defense shells. Depleted uranium would be good if i could get it in slug and buckshot.

    • They’d be great right up until you had to explain to the judge and jury why you shot the bad guy with a radioactive and toxic heavy metal. Granted, the alpha particles emitted by Uranium are rather like Ford Prefect’s description of the Earth (mostly harmless) while outside the body, but once you get an alpha emitter inside near the sensitive squishy bits its a rather different story.

Now waiting for a nuclear scientist or radiologist to explain anything I mucked up in the above description.

Disclaimer: Everything I know about Uranium I learned from http://theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Elements/092/index.s7.html

  3. Of course when you fire 5 or 10 blasts, your neighbors will splatter diarrhea and a tactical tidal wave representing a dozen different agencies will roll up.

  4. We need to take this idea and run with it. Just think how fast
you could plant the back 40 using an M252 mortar! Even
better, you could use a M777 to plant fields from 14 miles
    away.

  5. Sheesh… Why are the progressives always so violent and loud with everything they do? Always having to introduce guns into everything… I am a gardener and when I plant wildflower seeds, with which I enjoy the same desire for randomness and natural effect as the inventor, I just use my hand. I’ve found that works pretty well and doesn’t scare the shit out of everything and everyone within a quarter mile of me.

  6. Did anyone else read the article and notice how the writer subtly insinuated that protecting oneself and others is evil?

  7. A couple gems gleaned from the article:

He’s apparently opening up factory-produced shells and swapping out the lead with seeds, instead of making his own.

He expects the average garden to take 20 shells. You’d better hope for some extremely tolerant neighbors, otherwise it’ll be like BillF said.

  8. The website for flowershell lists the different 12 different seeds available in the loads including…wait for it…“Columbine.” Hmmmmm…

    • It’s actually a very beautiful flower (he says sheepishly) and is the state flower of CO. it is an odd thing though…

  9. Good afternoon, in order for our world to be better, you don’t need to use weapons, it’s better to give flowers and smile at each other, because flowers bring only positive emotions, if I have questions about which flowers to give, or if you please your loved one for no reason, we have for you a good site for flower delivery this site you do not need to go to a flower shop, here is a large selection of flowers.
