Rex Alpha

TTAG has much love for the REX Zero 1, which has continued to prove its quality and reliability over the past couple of years. Chris will be writing the review on the threaded barrel-equipped, optics-ready Zero 1T very soon, and then we’ll get ours hands on the newest version of the REX, the Alpha. This bad boy is a ready-to-race competition pistol and it’s shipping now. Press release follows . . .

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED REX ALPHA PISTOL NOW SHIPPING TO DISTRIBUTORS

Las Vegas, NV – After its overwhelmingly successful release at SHOT Show earlier this year, FIME is proud to announce that the REX Alpha pistol is now shipping to distributors. The REX Alpha is the next evolution of REX Firearms. Built as an out-of-the-box 9mm competition pistol and designed for speed and reliability, the REX Alpha has already outperformed the competition in Europe and is now available to the US Shooter.

Improvements from the REX Zero series include:

  • Full steel frame;
  • Redesigned trigger guard;
  • Extended beaver tail;
  • Oversized safety;
  • Ambidextrous magazine release with extension;
  • Redesigned trigger;
  • Flared magazine well;
  • 5” barrel;
  • Lightening cuts on slide reduce weight, allow faster cycling, and minimize recoil;
  • Fiber optic front sight;
  • Fully adjustable rear sight; and
  • Skeletonized hammer.

The REX Alpha accepts the same magazines as the REX Zero series and ships with three 17 rd. magazines in the box. Given that the REX Alpha is all about performance, the trigger mechanism is factory fine-tuned for each pistol to deliver a smooth double action pull and a short trigger reset with an out-of-the-box competition grade trigger. In addition to the installed hammer spring, each unit is shipped with two additional hammer springs which allow each shooter to optimize their REX Alpha to fit their personal performance preferences.

Come by and check out the new REX Alpha which will be displayed at the 2018 NRA Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX in both The Featured Product Center and at the REX Firearms Booth #7251. The first distributors to receive shipments will be MSR Distribution and Hicks, Inc. with other distributors to follow.

  1. Well at least it’s got a steel frame, I like the extended beaver tail, and the controls look nice. I’d buy this firearm if it was a 1911. LOL,,,,, yeh I know

  2. damn thats a high bore axis. then again, so are sigs. would love to shoot one.

  3. Very cool looking gun. Looks like lots of potential. I would take a harder look at one if I didn’t already shoot (and very much love) a Shadow 2 in production class.

    Would still really like to shoot one.
