“Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) announced today that it has resumed the normal acceptance of orders from its independent wholesale distributors,” Sturm, Ruger & Company announced. Today. “On March 21, 2012, the Company announced that its independent wholesale distributors had placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms in the first quarter of 2012, and therefore the Company had temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.” The gunmaker wants investors to know that catching-up does not mean falling behind. “Demand for our products is very strong, and the current backlog remains significantly above year ago levels. Our production and shipments in the first quarter of 2012 increased more than 50% from the first quarter of 2011 and remain very strong.” Just wait ’til President Obama is re-elected . . .
One million firearms in 3 months is absolutely AMAZING! I wish them well if they can keep the quality up to their traditional standards.
The fact that they stopped taking new orders bodes well for their commitment to quality.
What is the deal with the new trigger?
That’s a Galloway aftermarket trigger.
Did y’all do a review? I was seriously considering buying the LC9 as my first carry gun, but I hated the trigger when I got to shoot one. What’s the new trigger like?
Quick.
My buddy at work says if he buys anything else from Ruger it will be stocks hehe
good job ruger lets keep electing a Dem for PREZ and stimulate a part of the economy that needs it
I have had an sr 1911 on order for 20 months now. Gun shops in my area don’t have them, I have only laid eyes on one at a St. Louis gun show, they wanted 850.00 for it. Ruger tells me they are making hundreds a day. There is a major distributor in my area, but they cannot get them. Where are they going ? Bass pro in st. L. does not have them.
