The latest cache of documents released in the Trayvon Martin shooting is yielding more interesting nuggets. “Telling the FBI that he was concerned that people inside the police department were leaking information, (Sanford Police Officer Chris) Serino cited Sgt. Arthur Barnes, officers Rebecca Villalona and Trekelle Perkins “as all pressuring him to file charges against Zimmerman after the incident,” an FBI report said. ‘Serino did not believe he had enough evidence at the time to file charges.'” This, on top of the news that the FBI found no evidence of racial bias on Zimmerman’s part. And there’s more . . .

…from miamiherald.com:

The summary of Serino’s statement does not mention the race of the officers who allegedly pressured him, but sources told The Miami Herald that Barnes and Perkins are black, and Villalona is married to an African-American man. All three, the source said, had been called in by their supervisor and questioned about leaking information in the case.

But the Martin family attorney’s shouting LA LA LA LA!

“Our position has always been that there’s something going on in the Sanford Police Department,” said Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Trayvon’s family. “All of this is window dressing. What’s important is George Zimmerman’s statements, which are inconsistent and factually impossible.”

Nothing to see here folks. It’s a Saturday. Move along.

  1. Racism, in all its diverse forms, varieties, origins, and directions is still alive and vibrant within the USA. IMO, in some ways racism has diminished and in some other ways increased. Ten years ago, in San Francisco, a white female co-worker told me that “reverse” sexual or other types of discrimination by any minority is impossible to occur in a male (white male implied) dominant culture. Go figure.

  2. Well.. your friend won’t be able to say that for long.

“(The Root) — Recent census data reveal that, for the first time, racial and ethnic minorities make up more than half of all children born in the United States, with 50.4 percent of children under age 1 identified as Hispanic, black, Asian American or members of another ethnic minority group.”

Looks like whites will soon be the new minority.

    • Perhaps that is what will occur. Whites will become a minority.

Then again, back in the early 1970s demographic experts predicted that soon American Jews would assimilate and mostly disappear. Liberal Jewish families are assimilating into mainstream American society yet the devout Orthodox are gaining new members and are having a baby boom.

      We live in unpredictable times.

      • Demographics are destiny. EuroAmericans will have to copy Orthodox Jews or Muslims to thrive in post-racial America. Internal justice systems, mesirah, taqiyya (lip service to liberalism), high investment parenting, and elitism will be the name of the game. Working-class EuroAmericans are the wild-card given that no party represents them. Honestly the future is so exciting that Lu Zijian’s regimen for longevity is a must for history buffs.

  3. Why am I not surprised?
Maybe I’m just too cynical to expect anything but “reverse racism” anytime it is possible. Is this a matter of Antisemitism, since Zimmerman is half Jewish? Is it anti-Hispanic, since he has an equal claim in that regard? Or is it just anti-White, in general?

  4. They are going to have a very, very hard time finding a jury to send him to jail, all we need is one no, and he is a free man…………..

  5. Not having enough evidence to file charges is not evidence that no crime was committed. One officer felt that there wasn’t enough evidence, many others thought that there was, and they made their feelings known – I don’t see what’s wrong here? Do you really want one low ranking beat cop to be the final arbiter of filing serious charges like this?

Having said that the murder charge was very, very stupid and I see no way for it to stick, unless the NAACP gets to hand pick the jury!

They should have gone in for something more attainable, like manslaughter IMO, but we will see how it all plays out.

    • I agree, being found not guilty isn’t the same as being innocent. Many criminals go unpunished simply due to lack of evidence. That tree fell in the forest, but no one was around to see who knocked it over. So the courts have to let them go.

I try to be as unbiased as possible, and no i’m not african american. I just like to call things the way i see them. I have to agree with the Crump lawyer on one remark. Zimmermans statements are inconsistent and do seem unusually far fetched. He makes himself out to be some kind of innocent saint passing out bibles as he’s walking down the alleyway and martin jumped out of nowhere to kill him for absolutely no reason at all. I believe martin DID attack zimmerman, but as a preemptive strike to a stalker with a hostile voice and demeanor, with a menacing stare down. This is where zimmerman screwed up, he should have diffused the situation by saying who he was instead of “nah, i don’t have a problem with you”, even though he followed him and glared him down for the last 10 minutes.

      • Excellent!

Someone who knows *exactly* what happened that night.

Could you please tell the whole story so I don’t have to waste any time listening to the actual facts when they come out in the trial?

This is gonna save me so much time!!

      • “I believe martin DID attack zimmerman, but as a preemptive strike to a stalker with a hostile voice and demeanor, with a menacing stare down. ”
Trayvon thought this was a better plan than going into his Dad’s house? Bad idea. And he paid for it.

  6. Where did Crump get his law license? My guess is one of two places. A cereal box or Harvard Law School, since the outcome is the same.
