    • I guess we will find out in November.

      It all boils down to whether or not a LOT of voters oppose government harassing lawful firearm owners and whether or not those voters will show up at the polls.

      Personally, I am deeply concerned about Progressives gaining a lot of ground. They are adept at lying, accusing, smearing, and exploiting emotion — versus conservatives who usually limit themselves to “fair” fights. As we have said on this forum many times, there is no such thing as a “fair” fight. And anyone who limits themselves to a “fair” fight will often lose.

      • You have to remember that the treasonous MSM is essentially preaching to the choir. Their goal in 2016 was to shame & discourage Trump supporters (aka “patriots”) by calling them deplorable, unwashed, uneducated, racist, sexist, terroristophobic…and that they should save themselves a trip to the polls since Trump and his “hairdo” didn’t stand a chance of beating HRC, the worst SOS in the herstory of America. A woman who was very qualified to be President, because she was married to an impeached President, and because the DNC had promised her the office if she’s just sit down, shut up, and let the Wookie win…I mean let the monkey win…I mean Obama…
        But guess what? The MSM only convinced the LIBERALS not to bother voting. After all, Trump didn’t stand a chance, did he? Why, HRC was leading Donald by DOUBLE-DIGITS IN EVERY STATE even on election night. What happened?!
        The Demwits will try the same tactic again, although I’m sure it will cost Soros even more money to import felons, Illegos and other ineligible voters. But Trump and TRUE CONSERVATIVES will prevail. If not, better ready yourself for another civil war…except THIS time the “rebels” will be the Blue States.

        • I live in Texas where state wide elections are a foregone conclusion. The MSM had me nervous enough that I believed I needed to go out and vote.

          It turned out to all be a lie, but what if it hadn’t, and I had stayed home or voted third party in protest?

          Point being, it’s funny how things can backfire.

      • Why don’t we just give them California? Do a property swap between the few conservatives still in Cali and the snowflakes that want to flock there. Extend the wall to include California. They can all live happily together with the illegals they care so much about. No guns, knives, screw drivers, ice picks, or metal forks allowed.

    • Have not missed a vote since I voted Reagan in 1980. Don’t plan too either. I’ll be out in Nov 2018. Those who sit home and don’t vote places your own self-interests at risk. No thanks. 2A too important to sit at home. Democrats or the leftists nowadays will ruin your rights, your life and run this country into the ground if given the chance.

  2. I’ve been wrong about politics before, but if the Demoncrats think they can win in a reinvigorated economy on gun control and Stormy Daniels I just can’t see it going well for them.

        If I am wrong, my prediction is they’ll forget all about gun control and move straight into the impeachment proceedings, which will be entertaining. Maybe they’ll be able to dig up some more over the hill porn stars the President slept with 20 years ago. It will be fun watching all the faces of the liberal twits when they realize they just made Mike Pence president. Probably a lot like when they realized HRC had just lost.

        • The problem is that Pence won’t be POTUS for long. Maxine Waters has given us the playbook.

          If they can convict Trump on basically nothing (you don’t have to like the guy to realize that he’s done nothing truly impeachable) then Pence is next.

          Once that’s done then the Speaker of the House becomes POTUS. That’s called a “coup” and it means a weaponized impeachment system where any party that controls the House and the Senate also controls the White House regardless of who wins an election for POTUS.

        • The only problem with your theory is that you’re assuming that Pence won’t appoint a new vice president. Although I’m assuming the senate has to confirm the appointment, but that would be really awkward even for Demoncrats to be prosecuting another president while simultaneously blocking the appointment of a new vice president so that Nancy Polosi could be president. I’m thinking that would destroy the Demoncrat party.

        • I’m not saying that they’ve thought this through. I’m telling you what they’re saying they want to do.

          You think it will destroy the party but has it occurred to you that, having seized power in such a manner, they may not have any plans on continuing to hold elections? Or that they might go the way of Mexico and rig things to the point that no matter what happens they can’t lose for, oh, say 70 years?

          Caesar said he wanted to fix things as dictator and then return power to the people. He was assassinated so we never got to find out if he was telling the truth but history shows that after his assassination his intentions became irrelevant as power was never returned to the people (not that they ever really had much more than an illusion of power) because Rome slid into a series of dictatorships. There is no reason to believe that cannot happen to our Republic.

          Caution, as always, is the watchword because these people are powermad fools and God only knows what they’ll actually do or how it will play out. At best it’s mice, men, best intentions and all that.

        • If they try to impeach Trump, they will get a civil war as the entire DNC compliment of both the House and Senate wake up with severe cases of lead poisoning.

        • All this talk of impeachment…recall they’ll need 2/3 of the Senate. Establishment GOP will vote with Dems on big spending. On falsely convicting a sitting GOP president? Much less likely I’m thinking.

          They didn’t have the Senate votes to convict him.

          It will be the same for Trump.

          If we lose the House in November, we had better immediately get the Senate to kill the filibuster and ram through everything we want with a simple majority.

          Like the way they rammed that shit-sandwich health care law down our throats with cloture.

          Wall funding. 50 state carry. Hearing protection. All of it.

          All of it. Before the new representatives are seated in January…

        • Just because something has not happened recently doesn’t mean it won’t.

          I would also point out that with proper use of gerrymandering vote fraud becomes something that is either unnecessary or can be done at low enough levels that it’s hard to detect but still effective. This HAS happened before.

          Besides the Democrats have used voter fraud at lower electoral levels for a long time. Lots of groups have. It’s part and parcel of local and state machine politics and has been for at least 150 years.

    • They have no interest in “understanding” anything.
      They are only interested in ideology, as in far left ideology; some even admitting they are communists. The others don’t yet realize what they are.

    • Bump stocks can not be classified as machineguns based on the current definition, or by the description given in the interpretation.

      the user is still ‘pulling’ the trigger, by pushing the rifle out against his static finger after recoil. It will not work without this active input from the user.

    • If it was a single pull, then a revolver is a semi auto, the only difference would be being mag fed.

      • I suppose you know that Rollin White’s patent model for the bored-through cylinder included a box magazine AND a cylinder, making it a box-magazine-fed revolver. . . the box magazine fed cartridges into the cylinder, which rotated them into line with a single percussion n*pple and barrel.

This why we need to go out and vote for every republican who is running for office no matter how much we don’t want to……..I had hoped to be able to protest vote in the next few years, vote libertarian or some other party, but doing that, now, would just give democrats the power to destroy the 2nd Amendment. We need to vote Republican to keep them from taking the Senate…if they take the Senate they will block every single judicial nominee Trump puts out….that means no replacing ginsburg and kennedy, and no protection if Thomas retires….you may hate Trump, you may hate Repbulicans, I understand….but now is not the time to protest vote or to sit this out. If they manage to take the House, 5 minutes after the polls close they will impeach Trump…no doubt about it….then the democrats in the Senate will use the impeachment to steam roll Never Trump Republicans and squish republicans into not voting for Trump nominees and not letting the nominations out of committee…..Any vote for a democrat is a vote to end the 2nd Amendment…..we need to stop and block the blue wave they say is coming…..if we don’t, they will take all the guns…..

        • Thing is, I doubt that more than a handful of new readers read past 2aguy anymore. I sometimes do if it looks like something that I haven’t seen him paste dozens of times before. Yesterday or so, I thought he had something thoughtful and different enough to read though. He is accomplishing nothing, as his right, when he pastes in the same thing he has for weeks or months.

      • I’m “cursed” with only having incumbents who have a good track record up for re-election this time. No point to primaries and not much of one in the general either. Not that that is going to stop me from going out and voting. (I go to a couple of the polling places frequently anyway. It only costs me the time of actually voting to vote).

  9. This Ashford fellow is a former one term Congressman whi’s never received more than 49% of the vote. He won 49% to the GOP incumbent Lee Terry’s 45.7% in 2014. Then he turned around and lost in 2016 with 47.7% to the GOP challenger, now incumbent, Don Bacon’s 48.9%. Trump wom Nebraska that year with 60.3%.

    Congressman Bacon has much more money onhand for this race, too, than Ashford. That should allow him to get the message out about Ashford being a Hillary-type gun grabber. It will be close, but I think Bacon will win.

    • The best thing to ever happen to the Democrats was having a Democrat president not veto the Republican passed Civil Rights Act. If it had been a Republican president, blacks would still block vote Republican. If blacks were to block vote Republican, Democrats would not have a chance of controlling the national debate.

    Every candidate running against a Democrat should try to emphasize the repeal as part of the Dem’s platform.

    Although history is against it, it might turn out to be another November 2016 for the Dems (heres hoping for “groundhog day”).😀

    Please continue the course. Please continue to call for the repeal of the Second Amendment. The progress you are making will change our nation for the better. It will lead to safer streets, neighborhoods, and schools. The crime rate will plummet and the number of violent gun deaths will also decline. But you must keep up the important work you are doing.

    That way, we can completely remove you from the conversation because all of you and the DNC will be decimated in November. Please keep up your Socialist efforts. That way voters know exactly who to vote against. You will NOT prevail.   20. This whole ‘argument’ as to how to define an ‘assault weapon’ would be like trying to define what an assault vehicle is. Mentally disturbed people/terrorists have used trucks, vans, passenger vehicles to accomplish the same objective.

    I’m just growing tired of the senseless bickering going back and forth from extremely narrow minded people to justify their beliefs, no matter what the facts support.

  26. Complacency is the only thing that can kill The 2nd Amendment. We can not just sit on our hands and watch the liberals take our Constitutional rights one by one. We need to not only vote in every election, but we need to campaign, help put up signs, and whatever our pro 2A candidates need. I have seen this work with the motorcycle community for years. We help get OUR candidates elected, and they help us.
