There’s an event coming up in April called the Silencers are Legal Shoot which is shaping up to be a gigantic gathering of suppressed shooting in theΒ  Dallas area. Most of the big names have signed on as sponsors including Silencerco, Advanced Armament, Surefire, Osprey, YHM, Gemtech and more. Attendees are welcome to bring their own guns to have some fun (and ammo vendors will be onsite to help you feed the beast), but be aware that you won’t be allowed to fire unless you have a can. Needless to say I’ll be in attendance (so drop me a line if you want to grab a beer). The only question at this point is whether my silencer will be ready in time. Make the jump for more info…

Silencerco and the American Silencer Association is putting on the first annual Silencers Are Legal Shoot in Dallas Texas on Saturday, April 28, 2012. 1. Nothing but mafioso silently whacking each other to the sound of soft “pfhht pfhhts,” count me out.

    /sarcasm

  2. I live near here, and if it were not for the time getting a weekend off, I’d go. I’ll pass this on to others that may well be able to attend, especially one in my academy class that just happens to have a can and no stamp yet (paperwork is taking forever). Thanks Nick, get me hooked on these too.

  3. Silencers are legal?

Are they trying to make a point? Is this a protest?

What’s the point? No one’s gonna hear them.

  4. The organizations name should be silencersarelegalexceptinMassachusettswhereowningoneisafelony.com

  5. Someday Massachusetts, New Jersey, California, New York City, Chicago and Washington DC will be brought back into the Union and have the rights of their people restored under the Constitution. Not really sure how they managed to silently secede in the first place…

  6. A point of correct terminology: They’re really called “suppressors.” They don’t “silence” a gun, they merely attenuate the peak sound level, especially when one is using supersonic ammunition.

  7. “Saturday, April 28, 2012, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm”

crud, being poor really sucks. would have been a great way to spend a birthday but i can’t afford the trip.

  8. I’ve had tix for a few months now. A buddy and I are planning on driving up from the ATX. A visit to the Czech Stop is planned as well. πŸ™‚

  9. I’ve got my invitation and will be there ready to learn. Can’t wait to “hear” what they sound like.

  10. Like the exhibit coming up, hope to be able to attend the silencer party! I have one ordered!!! In my 5th month, what a slow process!
