Taofledermaus has filmed chain reaction experiments before, but they’ve happened so fast that it’s been difficult to get a good view. This video is different because of the way he’s able to slow the reaction down to 10,000 frames per second. Things still happen pretty fast, but this gives a clear idea of what the chain reaction looks like.

IIRC (I don’t have sound here so I don’t know if they mention it) it was to see if there was any truth in the idea that you shouldn’t use pointed bullets in a tube magazine because recoil could cause them to chain off. I thought their result was pretty compelling.

Seriously, stop with the goddamn autoplay vids. We didn’t want it when it was popup ads, and we don’t want it when it’s the “thumbnail” image for an article.
