Dammit Jim, I’m a shooter not an aesthetician! Just as well, really, ’cause the FN PS90 isn’t the most attractive rifle in the world. Still, the strangely-chambered bullpup has plenty of followers (so to speak). PS90 fans are just like AR-15 adherents (and my nine-year-old- fashion-crazed daughter): they like their accessories. So they’re gonna dig Damage Industries‘ extended optic rail which “makes it possible to mount accessories and illumination devices forward of the receiver while keeping them clear of your peripheral vision/target acquisition and inside the natural firing and manipulation positions” and “allows laser aiming modules to be mounted on the same axis as the optic for increased accuracy.” We recommend ear protection against comments from bemused People of the Gun. Either that or a little trigger time for the skeptics. Scotty! I need more bullets! [Click here for TTAG’s PS90 review.]
Sorry, but the previous post with the pic of the Israeli Army girls is much nicer to fantasize about owning.
Strange looking contraption. I would have to spend time on the range with it to give it an honest appraisel.
I disagree with your aesthetic evaluation. The P90 (not so much the PS90) is one of the most stunning looking firearms I’ve ever seen. I’d love to buy one someday if they ever offer it for civilian sale, and my daughter didn’t have to eat.
“But, is it art?”
You can convert a ps90 to a SBR.
Then it is identical to the P-90 except for select fire.
Damn! That sure is an ugly rifle!!!!
Dang it, Farago, watch the misleading headlines! I thought FN was discontinuing it. Don’t scare us like that.
+1
PS90 is on the list of “future” firearms to acquire… I thought this article was going to be about it being discontinued!
I like my PS-90, but this contraption looks like it puts the optic way to high over the bore axis – its probably not posible to get a cheek weld on the gun and still look through the optic.
Sigh… I got to shoot a P90 several times one weekend.
I can’t afford the gun (can’t even afford the PS90),
I can’t afford the ammo,
I still REALLY WANT ONE.
I want one, but I am very leery of buying a gun that uses ammo that is specific to two firearms on the planet.
If they made a 22LR version, I’d pick it up this afternoon. It’s a neat design.
+eleventybillion
22lr version would be awesome.
If it was 22 lr what would it have, a 200 round mag? That would be awsome as hell.
I think its appearance is very space-age.
Is it disruptor-only or can you set this phaser to “stun?”
The one thing that concerns me about these is that you have the thumb of your support hand in the same opening as the trigger. Any thoughts about that?
My wife owns (at my suggestions) the PS-90 SBR. Stunning looking weapon, and one of the most accurate firearms I have ever owned or shot. Flat trajectory, 50 round magazine capacity, compact, and EASY to take apart and clean. We have lots of rounds through the thing and it is just a pleasure to shoot. I buy the science behind the effectiveness of the rounds, and we absolutely love it.
This was not the wood I was looking for
