Your government at work: VA Actively Depriving Veterans of Second Amendment Rights – “Although I’ve vociferously spoken out against the VA being able to strip individuals’ Second Amendment rights, in all honesty, until today, I had not seen a case where a veteran had actually been denied in the absence of an actual involuntary mental health commitment or formal adjudication of incompetence. Today, that all changed. While past stories discuss denying a veteran, where the veteran elected to have a third-party handle his/her financial affairs (and of course, I have to question how someone who is deemed to be ‘incompetent’ can execute a form competently…but I digress), my client’s denial is far more egregious – as if, I ever thought I could see such a situation.”

Female shooter to mullahs: GFY Indian Shooter Heena Sidhu Refuses To Wear A Hijab, Withdraws From Airgun Competition In Iran – “India’s ace shooter Heena Sidhu has made a bold statement by refusing to wear the hijab for competing in an Airgun competititon in Iran. The tournament, Asian Airgun Shooting Championship, is slated to be held in December in Tehran. Heena, who is the defending champion, has withdrawn from the meet because of Iran’s insistence on female contestants adhering to the dress code according to which it is mandatory for female participants to wear the ‘hijab’. ”

No ambiguity here: Saying goodbye to guns – “While one has to parse every word uttered by Mrs. Clinton to find where she really stands, her position on the individual right of Americans to ‘keep and bear arms’ is far clearer than she might like it to be, which may explain why in a recent national poll 38 percent of Americans listed an attack on their Second Amendment rights as their ‘greatest fear.’”

Don’t be surprised to see guns at New Hampshire polls, officials say – “With tensions running high ahead of next week’s election, state officials in New Hampshire said they have been getting questions about whether it is legal to bring guns to the polls. The short answer, according to state officials, is ‘yes.’ ‘As far as New Hampshire election law is concerned, there are no specific prohibitions on bringing a firearm into a polling place,’ said Assistant Attorney General Brian Buonamano.” And don’t be surprised when nothing at all happens.

Philippines’ Duterte rails at U.S. ‘monkeys’ for halting gun sale – “Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte chided the United States on Wednesday for halting the planned sale of 26,000 rifles to his country, calling those behind the decision ‘fools’ and ‘monkeys’ and indicating he might turn to Russia and China instead. Duterte’s tirades against the former colonial power are routine during his speeches and he said on Wednesday he once believed in Washington, but had since lost respect for what is the Philippines’ biggest ally. The U.S. State Department halted the sale of the assault rifles to the Philippine police after U.S. Senator Ben Cardin said he would oppose it, Senate aides told Reuters on Monday.”

Masked teens with BB guns charged with criminal mischief – “Three teenagers who knocked on the door of a College Station apartment while wearing Halloween masks were arrested Monday night after several windows were shot with a BB gun. Damian Navarro, Latearrance Hamilton and Derrick West, all 17, were charged with criminal mischief causing between $100 and $749 of damage, a Class B misdemeanor. West was also charged with disorderly conduct — display of a weapon or firearm. According to the police report, the men knocked on the door of the Holleman Drive apartment around 9 p.m. and said ‘trick or treat.'” Next year stick to TP and eggs.

Russian cosmonauts packed some serious heat with this pistol – “The Russians have been packing heat in low Earth orbit for decades. Along with fishing gear and a first aid kit, the Granat-6 survival kit in every Soyuz spacecraft has a Makarov PM semi-automatic pistol and plenty of ammunition.”

  1. I’ve worked a lifetime in jobs that had health care benefits so I wouldn’t have to turn to the VA.

Looks like my mak in that Russian bit.

    • But you didn’t enter the US Federal Property Post Office… your rights end at the door, of course.

  2. Latearrance. Must be a young Irish lad…hey we had what had to be 17year old “”trick r treating”. No guns(that I know of!). Cubs up 3-1!

    • The Cubbies are looking good in game 7, I’m surprised how many Chicago fans are in the stands.

      Now 5-1, Chicago!

The real question is how much violence and destruction there’s gonna be in Chiraq when they win this thing.

My guess will be 3 cop cars burned and 25 shot…

      • Nah…it ain’t west/ Southside basketball “fans”. Cubs up 6-3 after a bonehead Maddon switch?

  3. (1) Of course the government wants to disarm vets – they were trained to fight with them and pose the greatest threat to totalitarian rule.
    (2) I agree with Duarte that our government is run by fools. Why would any foreign nation trust them?

    • Duarte is a despot, and the Chinese apparently love him since he just told the US to pound sand.

The ChiComs tossed Duarte a bone by pulling off of Scarborough Shoal (at least for the time being)…

      • The ChiComs (Chinese Communists) in China are more trustworthy that the ChiCom (Chicago Communist) in the White House.

  4. Question however is that as many towns use schools for polling places, will the Gun Free School Zones act effectively prohibit carrying guns to the polls?

    • I believe that it depends on the state (e.g., Utah). My polling place is a community social hall, so no problema there. I _may_ have pocket carried when I lived in MA….

    • No, just the Americans. After all, we’re just hitchhiking to the ISS since there is no NASA manned spacecraft in service.

  5. I’d want a gun in space too. I suppose 9×18 also wouldn’t be a bad choice if you did have to use it in a space craft. Aliens might be far more advanced but I’d at least put up a fight and try to put a few of them down before they had their way with me.

    • Hank, nothing deters terrestrial or extraterrestrial aliens like a 45 A.C.P, I carry one and have not been abducted or accosted yet. ??

  6. Soviet Mak gun has nothing to do with ET, aliens, or space–cosmonaut space vehicles parachute down into wild empty deserts on recovery. They have the Mak as a small light survival weapon in case of danger or need if their pickup is delayed. DMD

    • Thanks for reminding people of this. We Americans think “Oh, they’re landing on water – because we do.” Wrong. They bring their re-entry vehicle down on land. There has been at least one cosmonaut who died because their chutes failed on re-entry and their capsule burned up and then landed like a ball spiked in the end zone.

      • There was a Russian space mission (I believe it may have been one of the early ones?) where their re-entry didn’t go as planned and they put down on a frozen lake bed. the capsule melted right through the ice, which froze back over top of them. The cosmonauts were stuck on the lake bed in the capsule for like a day or two from what I recall before the rescue team could locate them and retrieve them.

  7. I applaud the Indian air gunner for giving “modesty laws” the bird. Remember when you could criticize the Middle East’s treatment of women and it wasn’t considered “hate speech”?

  8. No wonder Heena Sidhu is a champion shooter. She’s got some kind of bionic arm that bends the wrong way.

  9. As long as the Russians don’t shoot anyone while in low earth orbit, I don’t care if they have a gun.

  10. As others have said, the gun is for protection when the cosmonauts return to earth
The Russians have already had one cosmonaut menaced by wolves before he could be recovered
Although I must say a Makatov seems like a small caliber for protection from wolves or bears

  11. Its a double whammy under Obama care, company or union held insurance plans are more expensive, deductible increasing, also medicare! Vet care is not free unless you are a 100% in a case I know of a wife wanted more money as care taker of her husband she got it and he lost all his guns, her greed cost him his 2nd amendment rights with no appeal. all a head doctor has to do if you have PTSD is declare you risk and before you blink you eyes you no longer have Constitutional rights!
First off the corrupt Democratic Party is literally destroying our country, you can no longer trust the FBI as they are now just a political tool like the KGB, Don’t forget the Politicization of the IRS, Land Management, ETC
Second they are out to destroy the Constitution any way they can with strings being pulled by the puppet Master Soros
As far as the Philippine Dictator goes he’s trying to play both the US and China for bigger benefits!
The PC”s in the Philippines always had the authority to pretty much do what they wanted: example; public executions especially with gun control under Marcos!
What a refusal by an Iranian women to follow the Law, hope she doesn’t loose her head over it!

  12. So the story of Heena Sidhu reminds me of 2 quotes:

“…I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. …Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks.”
    Thomas Jefferson
