  1. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn penned a missive dealing with this type of tyranny:

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

    • Gulag Archepelago is one harrowing book to read. I’m only about a third through it and I had to take a break from it. If anyone’s on the fence as to why fighting is so important, read up on what the Russian government did to it’s people under Lenin and Stalin. “It can’t happen here” is such a weak-ass view.

  2. Ct is lost, time for those who care about their gun rights to try and leave. Unless the state is completely retarded, they’ll just charge people when they’re found out, not start SWAT teaming people just for their guns and magazines. In this way, the gun culture in that area can be successfully limited. Very few Amerikans are willing to actively fight and organize against the state and their worshiped, uniformed thugs. After all, it’s March Madness baby!

    • Doomsayers used to say CA was lost, flee. One court decision is all it takes to change that. Would you flee your house if someone came in to steal from you?

      • Good point jwm. The tide IS turning and the last thing we POTG do is gnash our teeth and rend our hair in righteous but uselesss frustration while pointing fingers at our fellows in The Occupied States™. In fact, following the Soviet regime example cited above, we should expect the StateRunMedia™ to spout yhr Party line…just as MSNBC and CNN and NYT “unexpectedly” advance identical Talking Point Memos…like Pravda in the 80s. We should also expect disinformatzia techniques like the taxpayer supported Nudge Team under Cass Sunstein and that undoubtedly includes trolls paid by the click. Just read the Breitbart and WAPO comments for a couple days.

      • Exactly. All any of this takes is one court decision, either way. Except when it’s the Supreme Court. Then it’s one and done in their favor. The demographics are not in our favor. The drama will drag out for maybe another generation or so, but don’t be fooled. The dependancy hordes are ascendant.

They promiscuously support any candidate promising freebies and goodies aplenty. The problem is, as has been said before, that a government capable of giving you everything you want, is capable of taking away everything you have. We’ve already passed the tipping point. America as we know it cannot survive. It will most likely degenerate into something best described as the United States of Detroit, before collapsing completely.

The last clear chance for radical reform working within the system was last decade under Bush. Unfortunately, in his selfish, foolish pursuit of trying to become a great President astride the globe, he squandered his chance actually to be a great President by remaking America in Constitutional terms.

        • he squandered his chance actually to be a great President

I remember first hearing the term “nuclear option” in reference to Congress under him, when the Republicans held both houses. I also remember wondering at the time why they wouldn’t use it and advance their agenda, thinking the dems would the first chance they got.

Turns out, the dems did, the first chance they got…

    • (borrowed/altered quote … seems appropriate)

“We’ve made too many compromises already. Too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They destroy entire states and we fall back. Never again. The line must be drawn here.”

Retreating each time a state gets too oppressive is no solution. It is surrender. If we keep on retreating, they will continue to be encouraged to attack the rights of everyone across the entire country.

    • No tex grebner is; 1.not from Texas, 2. I think he is too busy doing uhhhhh…. stuff

      • Yeah, I never understood the Tex, but not being from Texas thing…

        “Hey, I’m Germany Sam.”

        “Are you from Germany?”

        “No…”

        WTF, over!

  3. I’m thinking about doing this with an Obama mask on… Full on suit and everything, no one steal my idea before I can do it.

  4. CT resident here.

CT may be a blue state, but there are more gun owners here than you would think, and we are just as dedicated as you are. We have not given up the battle. I have not given up the battle. You should not give up this battle either. Not for Connecticut, not for California or Massachusetts, not for New York or New Jersey, not for Hawaii or Maryland or Colorado, not for ANYwhere that people’s Constitutional rights are being infringed.

For those who would say I should move- NO. I will not move. Connecticut is my home and I will not abandon it over one bad law. I am an American, and I refuse to be driven away like a helpless refugee. I will stay and I will fight for my rights.

When I say I will fight, I don’t mean that I will whine on the Internet to other like-minded people. I will make my voice heard where it matters. I was at the Hartford rally last year, and I’ll be there this year. I donate to the organizations that fight our unconstitutional laws in court. And whenever a gun law, good or bad, comes up in the legislature I write in. I may be ignored, but at least I have done SOMEthing.

More importantly, I spread the word. A whole lot of CT gun owners are ‘in the closet’, they only talk about guns to other gun owners. This is not the way to win the fight. I take my friends to the range, and I tell them to bring their friends. I teach these people how to safely handle firearms, and I explain what the new laws regulate. Most people (and I’m not just talking Republicans or conservatives) immediately grasp how dumb the new laws are. These people may not all become NRA members, but they ARE inoculated against the usual anti-gun FUD.
I do this not just because it’s fun, but because it’s essential. Gun control supporters are full of misinformation and FUD. But your average anti-gun person is full of ignorance and misinformation, and is WILLING TO LEARN if respectfully approached. Abraham Lincoln once said, “Do I not destroy my enemies, when I make them into my friends?” This is how we will win the fight.

So I ask, do not give up the fight for Connecticut, because we have not, and we WILL not surrender our rights without a fight. We must stand together. And I mean ALL of us- liberal, conservative, Republican, Democrat, gay, straight, black, white, and everything in between. We have more in common with each other than we do with the Bloombergs of the world who would take our rights away. We must not forget this as we go forward.

“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” –Ben Franklin, at the signing of the Declaration of Independence
