“Police say the man entered the hotel on Livingstone Road in Petersham (Sydney) at about 8.20pm on Saturday armed with a sawn-off rifle and threatened a security guard and patrons,” 9news.com.au reports. Impossible! Australia is a gun control lovin’, gun-free paradise! The recent Sydney siege that claimed two lives was an outlier! Or, well, you know. “The guard followed the man as he walked through the hotel then pushed him out a door and attempted to lock him out. The man then fired a shot through a glass panel but no one was injured, police said. The offender then re-entered the hotel . . .
and after engaging in a scuffle with the security guard he fled the scene.
The offender is described as being Caucasian, of thin build, tall, and with blond facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black top, a black jacket, dark long pants, and a black and green bandanna.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
I have some information! When an unarmed populace face armed criminals and/or crazies, the chances are good that bad things are going to happen. Again and again. And anyone who thinks that stricter gun laws equals less armed criminals is seriously delusional. Do something with that coppers.
There you go making trouble, again, Farago. 😛
“He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black top, a black jacket, dark long pants, and a black and green bandanna.”
Yep! That’s what I would wear to commit a crime! In-cog-nito!
…well, kudos to Mr. Guard-With-A-Pair that tangled with Mr. Intruder-With-A-Gun not once, but twice! And won!!!
This wouldn’t have happened if the US would get on board with global gun banning
I bet people are smuggling guns in from Virginia and Maine.
OMG! Australia has been attacked by a Johnny Cash impersonator!
It wasn’t a ‘siege’. It was workplace violence.
The guard followed the man as he walked through the hotel then pushed him out a door…
Now I don’t have any sort of expertise in armed robbery, but I’m pretty sure the industry accepted technique is for the armed robber to follow the victim, so he can better control the situation and more easily maintain a threatening posture with the weapon.
It’s been so long they’ve forgotten how to do it right.
Hey, at least gun control’s working (the part about a false sense of security, anyway).
This just has to be a fairytail. I mean after all there are no guns in Australia. They have all been banned. Impossible, could not have happened.
