Talk about non-typical. Scoring the rack on a buck like this isn’t exactly straightforward. In fact, it took a five-and-a-half hour measuring session and 18 months of consideration to officially score the “Butcher Buck” with a gross score of 343 4/8 inches and a net score of 321 3/8 inches, making him the second largest in bowhunting history and the fourth biggest ever recorded.

  1. Opened the referenced article, and saw pictures of the headgear. That’s a set of assault antlers if ever I saw one.

The government should institute a program of de-horning young bucks so that they cannot wander into areas occupied by humans, and suddenly “snap” and engage in a mass-stabbing.

      • My routine is to take whichever animal that is legal that first presents itself. I’ve passed on a sure kill hoping for better only to not see another.

    • If bagged in Idaho, maybe, with all that Hanford plutonium dust in the soil… 🙁

  2. That looks disgusting to me. Maybe a trophy worthy record setter but nothing I would want to consume.

    • Silly possum, deer don’t drive…..

      Hunters do drive deer though….

      Beep Beep!

    • You must have never seen any 6/4 sawn lumber. Some things are measured differently and not broken down to the lowest common denominator.

      • My first day stacking Cants I suddenly realized how the name was derived.
You cant hardly pick them up and you cant keep from smashing your fingers when you put them down.

  3. Country Boy, antlers are always measured to the 8th inch. No reducing in the fraction.

  4. TRUE ; I QUITE EATING DEER MEAT , TICK FEVERS , OTHER CONCERNS , YEP CHECK THE AREA WHERE THEY GRAZE , AND WATER THEY MIGHT DRINK .

    • That’s why I wont eat homemade chili at anyone’s house.
      “Guess what, it’s deer meat.”
Yep and your dog just ate my bowl of it.
I’m not retarded, I knew it was something like a forest rat.

  5. Ah, the rare Fukishima buck. Most were drowned in the tsunami, but this one managed to swim to Kansas.

  6. A half-demon deer.

The scariest part is that his full-demon deer dad may still be out in the woods. 😮

  7. Reading comments about deer water radiation, what not. Something may be up in that part of the country. If you google “girl shoots big buck in Kansas” you’ll find another buck similar to this was in 2020.
As I’ve said before Kansas is no place to be, dont believe the deer hype, it’s a trap to get you here. I’d be shy of Missouri too, that Hound Dawg Dave moved there and hes not posted on TTAG since.

    • You don’t have to worry about me moving to Kansas. Weather sucks and you can watch your dog run away for 3 days.

Only fun thing to do in Kansas is cruise the roads in an F150 and rack up possum kills.
