PreventViolence.org‘s YouTube channel is posting gun control ads on a regular basis. Their aging website (last updated in ’07) confirms the video branding; they’re financed by The California Wellness Foundation. “Created in 1992 as an independent, private foundation, The California Wellness Foundation’s mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention programs.” The foundation was set up when Health Net switched from a not-for-profit to a for-profit health care provider, now listed on the New York Stock Exchange (HNT). No mention of guns on the CA Wellness site, but a 2010 report indicates the Foundation has some $100m in the bank. Meanwhile, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s spending a good part of his vast fortune on gun control lobbying. The fight to defend and extend American gun rights is far from over.

  1. So long as people have dishonest agenda’s, as the grabbers do, this fight will go on. My grandkids and their grandkids will be in this fight. So long as individual freedom is challenged it will go on.

This fight started before gunpowder and will continue long after the “plasma rifle in the 40 watt range” is a curio and relic.

There will always be those against liberty. bloomberg, difi, schumer, the clintons, mikeyb, hmmmmmm and the members of your own families preaching that guns have no place in society. These are the people against freedom and we have to continue our fight daily or we lose that freedom.

      • I include barry’s support for a new AWB in the dishonest category. With the proven lack of use of these guns in crimes why would you move to ban them if you were being honest?

  2. If anyone believes the fight will ever be over, they are naïve. This will be a tug of war that will last forever or until one side gives up or some event full of emotion finally tugs to one side or another. My biggest fear is that the way our youth is being taught that they will at some point choose to give up liberty for some false safety.

Having just been through storm sandy, I hope many see the limitations of government and their promises.

Judgment Day is November 6th, we will see how many will be silent and along what lines the nation is divided. Should one candidate win by electoral votes and loose the popular vote the next 4 yrs will be even a larger tug of war.

    The fight may never end.

    • Not if the surpreme court returns a decision that flat out says gun bans are unconstitutional. Probably won’t happen but it would be nice.

  3. From the looks of that video (admittedly with the sound turned off) it looks like a ad for car control with someone finally shooting the insane out of control drive before she ran over the biker. But that’s just me.

  4. Robert, You’re getting a little hysterical again.

“New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s spending a good part of his vast fortune on gun control lobbying”

Why don’t you try putting a percentage on that? The guy has a lot of money, you know.

    • Wait. You want me to use facts to support a statement? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours. (An indication of the sums involved are listed in the link provided.)
