As youth pastor Jesse observes, life is random. Or, when wondering if you’ll really need your concealed carry gun on any particular day, in the immortal words of Brandt, “Well, Dude, we just don’t know.”
That’s why we carry on a daily basis. And why, as a good shepherd of his flock, Jesse carries a reliable concealed carry gun, Smith & Wesson’s M&P9 SHIELD. And that’s why his flock doesn’t worry about random wolves turning up at their door.
There are three types of people: wolves, sheep, and sheepdogs. The wolves prey on the sheep and are afraid of the sheepdogs. The sheepdogs serve the Shepherd and protect the Flock. The sheep just want to eat their grass and wish to be left in peace; but even though the sheepdogs are there to protect them – from the sheep’s perspective, the sheepdog still looks an awful lot like a wolf. This is why the sheep want the sheepdogs to have their teeth (guns) taken away. They see little difference between the sheepdogs and the wolves. But even if the sheepdogs pull their teeth and turn to eating grass, the wolves will not. Sheepdogs, do not give up your guns or your right to fight back, no matter how loudly the sheep may bleat.
Oh, and nice transparent phone.

Like Jesse, I’m an associate pastor. I’m retired law enforcement and have been a protector my whole adult life. Because God has not revoked this calling as of yet, among the many hats I wear in our church, the most important role is protector of the flock. I have trained our church’s security personnel and developed the church’s Emergency Action Plan. I regularly conceal carry s well! My EDC is my Springfield XD SubCompact .40 +2 mags, Sabre Red OC, Cold Steel Working Man folder, Streamlight ProTec and Leatherman Rebar.
M&P45 SHIELD – because large wounds are better.
my EDC is a S&W 9 Shield. 2 round Strike force extension on the 7 mag and 2x 8 round back up mags. loaded with Hornaday critical duty 135+P. I am neither a sheep dog or the wolf. I am become the force who comes from nowhere and when needed by the flock. Will bring down a great horror on those who would do harm to the innocence. Only to return to the haven until called upon again. Those who choose to be the protectors need not place a label upon themselves or others. Doing that which needs to be done is all that is necessary. Many have been called. Many more must join the cause. Safety of the flock from those that wish it harm is a honorable vocation and requires no accolades. Knowing the task was completed will suffice. Keep Your Powder Dry…
The Shield is a solid, dependable, compact, concealed carry gun. There are models with and without a thumb safety and in different calibers.
It is popular for a lot of reasons, including the low price.
I don’t have a plastic striker fired gun in my carry rotation, I should buy one myself!
