cops mug shots chauvin
This combination of photos provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, shows Derek Chauvin, from left, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao. Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder of George Floyd, a black man who died after being restrained by him and the other Minneapolis police officers on May 25. Kueng, Lane and Thao have been charged with aiding and abetting Chauvin. (Hennepin County Sheriff's Office via AP)

Oh look! Yet another media rando connecting police reform to…you guessed it…gun control. Another thoughtful, plaintive plea claiming we can’t possibly do anything about officer misconduct and police brutality in a country where civilians are allowed to walk around freely with firearms.

The real tell here that Mr. Thompson is nothing but a gun control talking point-spouting hack, however, is his embarrassing use of that long-ago debunked Bloomberg-touted “statistic” that 40% of guns in the US are sold without a background check. Please. That’s so five years ago. And such utter BS.

We should stop thinking about guns as just an acute threat, and start thinking about them as something more like lead poisoning—an environmental toxicity that builds over decades and leads to a host of social and cognitive problems. Gun prevalence increases civilian violence and officer shootings, which makes cops more concerned about getting killed, which in turn leads officers to bedeck themselves in quasi-military gear, escalate conflicts that don’t deserve escalation, and, too often, shoot and kill. “When police are involved in an encounter where guns are more prevalent in general, I wouldn’t be surprised that their level of anxiety were heightened,” says Matt Miller, a health-sciences professor at Northeastern and a co-director of the Harvard Injury Control Research Center.

The solutions are socially and politically improbable—but perhaps no more improbable than abolishing the police. They could begin with banning guns of war, requiring universal background checks, and instituting national “red flag” laws to keep guns from potentially dangerous people. These measures might sound small-bore compared with the challenge before us, but they could still make a difference. Deborah Azrael, also of the Harvard Injury Control Research Center, has found that 40 percent of gun owners acquired their most recent firearm without a background check. There are not many issues that easily unite police reformers and police unions, but reducing the social toxin of gun prevalence, especially in high-crime areas, ought to be at the top of that short list.

In a country where guns are protected by the Constitution and cherished by tens of millions of Americans, meaningful change will require a major social movement. Perhaps we’re seeing the seeds of that groundswell right now. As long as reformers are imagining the future of an unbundled police force, they have to be clear-eyed about the roots of civilian and police violence. Which means they have to talk about guns.

  1. Huh, so legal non-criminal citizens with guns is the problem!? Wonder why I didnt see that.

    • Since Gun Control is clearly rooted in racism and genocide America should see Gun Control as a racist and nazi based agenda that belongs in the crapper.

  2. Yawn. The gun control issue is dead for a good 5-10 more years. Nothing major will get passed. When the scumbag politicians are letting piece of shit prisoners out of prison into the streets of our neighborhoods, when the incompetent authorities are letting antifa and blm loot burn and destroy businesses, with no cops to be found, and they want to take away the right for civilians to protect themselves? HAHAHAHA GOOD LUCK!

    • There will be a continuing full court press for gun control until Bloomberg enters the netherworld and he will probably have funded efforts after that time.

    • Just because you didn’t see cops at the demonstrations in the videos, doesn’t mean they weren’t there.

      Big Brother is always watching:

      “But that was just one piece of a nationwide operation that deployed resources usually used to patrol the U.S. border for smugglers and illegal crossings. Aircraft filmed demonstrations in Dayton, Ohio; New York City; Buffalo and Philadelphia, among other cities, sending video footage in real time to control centers managed by Air and Marine Operations, a branch of Customs and Border Protection.
      The footage was then fed into a digital network managed by the Homeland Security Department, called “Big Pipe,” which can be accessed by other federal agencies and local police departments for use in future investigations, according to senior officials with Air and Marine Operations.
      The revelations come amid a fierce national debate over police tactics and the role that federal law enforcement and military forces should play in controlling or monitoring demonstrations. The clearing of demonstrators from Lafayette Park in Washington for a presidential photo op is still under scrutiny. The Air Force inspector general is investigating whether the military improperly used a reconnaissance plane to monitor peaceful protesters in Washington and Minneapolis this month.”

      It is interesting that big brother thought obtaining video of internal protesters was more important then border security.

      No ‘eye in the sky’ creates a perfect opportunity for caravans of illegals to cross.

      • OMG thats hilarious. Do you think that DHS and the DOD have 1 recon plane between them and that they have to share it for everthing? You know what, you should take advantage of this opportunity hussle off the South America and organize a new convoy.

        • What ya mean AD? When I was in the Army we had one M16 and we by GOD had to share it. You think the Gov is made of money or something? You think Soldiers and Cops are more important than congress critters? They don’t have to share. There is only 1 Marine K-Bar…all others are copies and the Jarheads share that. The only thing Not shared is Crayons….Marines eat those…….lol

    • Boy, are you dreaming! If Biden is elected with socialist majorities in both houses, D.C will be all gun control, all the time, for many years. When there are absolutely no firearms or ammunition within the confines of the US, they will still be passing gun control. Until they are removed from office, forcibly, they will be passing gun control, more and more and more restrictive. It’s like a religion, completely irrational.

      • They will not stop with modern sporting rifles. Semi auto pistols will be the next action item. After 10 gun cases were denied cert, Roberts appears to want gun laws on a state by state bassist, the legality of those laws determined by the applicable circuit.

    • “The gun control issue is dead… Nothing major will get passed.” Man, IF ONLY that were the case, especially in ‘progressive’ enclaves like California, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, etc., not to mention hitherto gun ‘friendly’ states like Virginia and Vermont.

    • The latest from NY is that the 250 criminals they let loose because of the covid fraud-demic were arrested 450 times since their release. I guess they needed something to keep the cops busy. What hasn’t been said is how many were shot by law-abiding gun owners protecting themselves or their property.

  3. I can’t believe TTAG continues to promote the lie that George Floyd was murdered. He died of a Fetanyl overdose. The cop is innocent.

    TTAG is anti-white trash to misdirect the opinions of normal, white, conservative people.

    • Exactly….. this floyd dude did this TO HIMSELF…..
      He was a criminal and the world has one less criminal to deal with…..
      What is happening to these cops is a future glimpse into what the ruling class has in store for whites…
      I would advise that Americans (real Americans, not the animals running wild in the streets) get their heads on straight and start controlling these animals and taking down the ruling class….
      And that DOES NOT include enforcing the laws of the ruling class…. its time for a REVOLUTION!

    • You’re delusional. You don’t think that having a full grown man’s weight on his neck contributed to his death? Did you even watch the video?

      That was a bad action by a bad cop period.

        • Mercury:

          Yes, I’ve read the path report, and while I’m not an MD, I have a JD and have been extensively trained to read them in the course of my practice as an attorney and have discussed the report with a doctor.

          You want me to translate it into layman’s English for you?

          His heart stopped and he died because of neck compression and restraint. He had several preexisting conditions that made it more likely for him to die from having his neck compressed, including severe heart disease. The levels of fentanyl and amphetamine in his blood are not insignificant, but they are not causative.

          In sum: the report says exactly the opposite of what you claim it does.

        • I read it. You also have the reading comprehension of a first grader. The title of the report you posted is “CARDIOPULMINARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION.” Put into other words, he stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating with contributing factors of how he was treated during his arrest. Autopsies are findings of the physical evidence found in/on the body. What physical evidence does positional asphyxiation leave that is missing from the report? Even with preexisting conditions, he would have survived his arrest “but for” the officer placing his knee on Floys’s neck for almost 9 minutes and ignoring his declarations of distress.. Whether you believe it was 1% or 100% responsible, it was the spark that started the fire. The autopsy is only part of the final report. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner, whose autopsy report you posted, ruled the manner of death a homicide, meaning it was the result of another person’s purposeful actions. His other choices were been suicide (killed self), accident (unintended outcome), natural (body could no longer sustain life with not outside influences), and undetermined conflicting/not enough evidence for any of the other 5). The findings of cause do not mean crimes have or have not been committed. Shooting someone trying to kill you is a homicide death, but legally self defense with no charges filed. Letting a toddler under your care drown in a pool is accidental, but could be charged as criminally negligent homicide.

      • Well none of us are a pathologist, I would wager, so his take on the incident is worth as much as yours.

        I don’t care if he died of testicular cancer, the cop kneeled on his neck for the length of time it would take him to asphyxiate. He died during that event, the cop is liable.

        We would be held to that or a higher standard, police should be held to the same, we need to get rid of this idea of some people being more equal than others, we got rid of our ruling class and should not be replacing it with politicians, the wealthy, and police. All I ask is they be under the same laws we are under.

        • He died of a heart attack after being strangled for over 8 minutes. Clearly not the cop’s fault. Say Whaaat?

      • I am an endocrinologist.

        People die all the time in police custody all the time because of drugs. Basically- some takes drugs and the drugs cause them to do something where they have an interaction with police, and that stress + drugs leads to a bad situation. A situation as stressful as getting arrested can cause incredible interactions with drugs. Stress is very powerful. Opiates are no joke. Opiates + stimulants + stress is a disaster waiting to happen.

        As a doctor, I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to comment specifically on what happened w.r.t how Floyd died, but it is worthwhile to note that the he was Covid-19 positive. I’ve been telling people on this board that Covid-19 is not just the flu. We know very little about it. Perhaps it was a contributing factor? We know very little about what it really does to the body- let alone in conjunction with a polypharmacy of self-administered street drugs. I have been seeing many patients who recovered from Covid-19 who have low testosterone and diabetes complications.

        That aside- I want to donate to the legal defense fund of Derek Chauvin. Is there a way to do that?

        • 8 minutes 46 seconds.

          On camera.

          In front of witnesses.

          With the victim and citizens pleading for the victim’s life.

          Seriously, you need to sort out your priorities.

        • Your points are well taken. Floyd had ingested drugs, was virus positive, and was not in very good overall health when he was arrested. Despite all these factors he’d probably still be walking around if he hadn’t been arrested for “passing” a counterfeit $20 bill. There are literally millions of counterfeit bill in circulation. Their quality is so good that it is common for people to use them without any knowledge that the $20, $50, $100 bill they’re using to buy something with is fake. Have you ever had this happen to you? Many of us have. Usually when a bad bill is found the cops don’t get call or, if they are, they just confiscate the bill, assuming correctly that the owner is not a criminal.

          For most people the paper currency we use is assumed to be good—until someone tells us at the point of purchase that the it’s fake. Floyd doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who could tell the difference between good and bad money. He was just a schmuck who ended up with a fake $20. Which raises the question of just why he was arrested by 3 cops? The bottom line in all this for me is that if Floyd hadn’t been arrested in the first place, he’d still be walking around.

        • “Opiates are no joke. Opiates + stimulants + stress is a disaster waiting to happen.”

          The one (and *only*) time I was given Fentanyl was a year and a half back in the back of an ambulance when I got my lower leg shattered in 4 places by a car’s bumper. (The hit was fatal to the road bike, it bent it’s frame).

          How he was upright and normal-acting while on that stuff is beyond me. The only thing I wanted to do was lay as still as possible. Oh, and it’s short acting stuff. An hour later at the ER they started dosing me with morphine until I was wheeled into the ER for the installation of a few pounds of metal…

        • If you’re a doctor then you’re a stupid one! There is already plenty of information out on covid, not to mention “whistleblowers” who have dropped the ball on the liars Fauci and Birx. I’m a biologist, with plenty of detailed knowledge of microbiology and immunology, and I knew from the start that the crap these two “experts” were stating was garbage.

        • When you kneel on someone’s neck for 9 minutes as they gasp for air and then stop breathing- and you still don’t get off them- you don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. When you do that to someone who is handcuffed and suspected of no violent crime, you don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. When you ignore your trainee police officer asking if you should move the suspect on his side into the recovery position, you don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

          This does not require an MD. This is very basic and it’s utterly unbelievable that a police officer who has been on the job for 19 years wouldn’t know it. Except he, at best, let his ego get in the way.

          If you wanted to fund the defense of one of the officers who had been on the job for like 3 days and had no idea what was going on (because no one does at that level of experience) then do that.

          But if you can’t understand how the position Floyd was put in would contribute to his death then your medical license should be pulled. And since there was no need to put him in that position, you should stay in your lane if you think there’s not criminality there.

        • Had about 8 overdoses in the ER last night here. Narcan for everyone. We had to tube two of them despite giving them a ton of narcan. None of them could breath. No one knelt on any of their necks. Without medical intervention all would have died.

          Floyd probably wouldn’t have died if he had not had a police encounter. He also probably would not have died if he had not overdosed on drugs. It took the two things combined to kill him but neither thing by itself did it.

          Don’t do drugs and don’t fight with cops and it will increase your chances of a long and happy life.

          .

    • Even if you believe the OD narrative, that would have been an OD during the 9 minutes that the police had him restrained and provided no medical assistance. But they’re still completely innocent.🙄

    • Gotta say I’m pretty anti-white trash. Whenever it rains they go tearing down my road digging it all up tossing Bud Light tall boys out their windows.

      • “…tossing Bud Light tall boys out their windows.”

        Who buys long necks, anyways? The sixes are heavy as hell…

        • Home brewers will keep and re-use the bottles.
          Good beer stays fresh longer when it’s refrigerated in a can, though. The only time I really buy bottles is September-October timeframe because you can’t get imported German Festbier in a can.

  4. These people are the ruling class….. you will obey…. because typical gun owners are completely powerless to do anything about their over reach….. that is by design….. their design…

    He is right about one thing….. to make any changes in their plans, typical gun owners will have to gather in large groups to defend their rights….

    When will this happen? When will someone come forward to begin to organize gun owners (true Americans) so we can fight back?

    • “When will someone come forward to begin to organize gun owners (true Americans) so we can fight back?”

      That kind of fire is usually spontaneous combustion. You never know what straw will finally break the camel’s metaphorical back…

  5. Deborah Azrael provided the statistics for this article. Co-author Fred Beelzebub was unavailable for comment.

  6. The places where that “ground swell” is happening, are the places where the most gun control already exists…. I think we’re seeing the fruits of gun control, not the seeds.

    • “Jury Nullification. It only Takes one.”

      Someone needs to launch a kickstarter to rent billboards all over America that say :

      “Unjust laws. What can we do? Jury nullification. Google it.”…

      • Geoff …“Unjust laws…..Google it.”

        And the irony is completely lost on you;

        Not a hint of self-awareness.

  7. The Atlantic is a Communist inspired, Leftist financed, Antifa loving trash rag and I suspect without incoming funds from Soros/Bloomberg/Steyer billionaire leftists they would fold up and disappear.

  8. The Atlantic is subversive. They don’t care about black people. Their black writers are hand picked shills. They are dangerous and out to get me. Them and The NAACP. I need help.

    • It always cracks me up when I hear the minority Ivy League journalists and overpaid talking head shills scream about oppression. They experience more privilege in one week than an average white person experiences in their entire life. Now imagine them having a successful career that isn’t based on oppression. They have to justify their existence.

  9. This article gives some insight into what we already know. The out of touch left wing ideologue BELIEVES that guns are the problem. It’s part of their “religion” to just accept that. This is what happens when kids are taught to believe in an ideology instead of being taught the skill of critical thinking. If you think it’s bad now, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Media, academia, and Big Tech wasted no time in jumping on the BLM propaganda bandwagon. Kids are now being taught that your skin color determines your inherent righteousness.

    Any free thinking person, not held back by ideology, can plainly see the solution. Just substitute the word criminal where he says guns:

    “We should stop thinking about ‘criminals’ as just an acute threat…”

    ” ‘Criminal’ prevalence increases civilian violence and officer shootings…”

    The first step in solving a problem is identifying the problem. Unfortunately, this isn’t what’s being taught anymore.

    • Controlling the population is problematic when said population is armed. Why else would these Commie bastards want to disarm you?

  10. Ok so release the predators and cannibals which leads to the biggest increase in gun sales in the history of the world and then try to protect the predatory mob and initiate a plan to take everybody’s guns while simultaneously expecting public support? The lefty mob isn’t noted for thinking ability.

    • “release the predators and cannibals”

      You bet, I have some great recipes for barbecued long pig.

  11. I’m the son of a decorated combat veteran. I’m a Air Foce veteran. My son is a combat veteran (101st airborne). So it’s like this if, they want my AR-15 let them try to take. Our country is motivated by media. That’s where revaluation should start. They use the first amendment to take away my second amendment rights.

  12. I don’t expect cops ever to improve as long as they are unionized and immunized. Get rid of the cop unions and qualified immunity and police forces can be reformed.

    • “Get rid of the cop unions and qualified immunity…”

      The qualified immunity may be on the chopping block.

      It will be interesting to see how people react when no one wants to be a cop any more… 🙂

    • You cannot have policing without some form of qualified (not full) immunity in America with our tort system. You are advocating for depolicing like what is happening in Seattle except you don’t want to have to admit it.

      The only way you could get rid of qualified immunity (and unions) without ending police would be to change the whole legal system in the US to prevent lawyers from taking spurious cases in hope that the defendant cannot afford to actually defend themselves or that you just get lucky every fifth case. And while I don’t think that would be a bad idea, it would have to come first.

      • Civilians don’t have immunity. We have to keep our heads and do what’s legal, moral and right. Cops now see what we have to face should we defend ourselves.

      • Bvllsh!t, Hannibal. SCOTUS first introduced the qualified immunity doctrine in 1967. How did we ever exist as a nation before 1967? The mind boggles!

  13. We having guns have nothing to do with what’s going on, there was no gun involved in this mess, and no way will you get Americans guns, what’s going in this country we all better be armed and ready, these blm, antifa, and others are all terrorist organizations and need to be treated like what they are, Terrorist, sorry these people blacks lie there lips off there are more rich blacks than ever before, and the tv is loaded with blacks, they even try pushing mix races and we all no this is not good, God made us different for a reason not to mix it up and cause more problems than needs be, I have nothing against anyone working trying their best to have a life, the men well they let these hateful women try and make them little cry babies, these disgusting women need to let our men be men, not breaking Them into little freaks, so they can feel like a man that they will never be.i do believe some states have went way to far with tanks and military grade weapons they are cops not military, needs corrected immediately

      Just too many rich black folks? Must really bum you out, seeing black folks with money while you have none, of course it’s their fault, right?

      And now the blacks are pushing mixed races, the horror! Gee, I wish God would speak to me and tell me exactly who I should be sleeping with and which positions are sky daddy approved.

      Another goodwill ambassador for the people of the gun, winning hearts and minds through gentle persuasion and the merits of their position.

      • Miner “Gee, I wish God would speak to me”

        Its doubtful you will ever speak with him, (Especially the way you distort the KJV for your own selfish ways) but you will likely hear from someone who used to talk to him.

        • “Especially the way you distort the KJV for your own selfish ways”

          What I find especially fascinating is the way king James distorted earlier texts for his own selfish ways.

          That’s why they call it the king James VERSION…

        • “the men well they let these hateful women try and make them little cry babies, these disgusting women need to let our men be men”

          So the hidden subtext it’s becoming clear, your use of the term “disgusting women” is telling.

          It sounds as if you want an environment without women, where ‘men can be men’.

          Fascinating.

  14. ‘They could begin with banning guns of war, …’

    ++Begin with is right … An assault weapons ban along with a ban of mags holding more than ten rounds will be the first order of business IF Biden & Kamala Harris win. That’s why a focus on AK and AR type guns and 7.62 and 5.56 ammo has been a thing. Doing well with these is a given. Have already done well…

    ++Also consider that a Soros-Funded Group Is Part of the “Defund the Police” Movement + Uneducated Leftist Lunatics Tear Down Statue of Union General Ulysses S. Grant / [so fact is Leftist Lunatics are in control and are running wild]

    ‘Gun prevalence increases civilian violence and officer shootings, which makes cops more concerned about getting killed, which leads officers to bedeck themselves in quasi-military gear, escalate conflicts that don’t deserve escalation, and, too often, shoot and kill.’

    ++Effective Jonesing for a assault weapons ban [they will include a long list of banned guns in the bill or the executive order]… quasi-military gear = assault weapons Not sure why ‘quasi’ was added to ‘military gear’…

  15. Some people refuse to admit gun control doesn’t work,
    if it did all the thugs and lowlifes wouldn’t have any guns now

    that’s what their gullible voters want to hear.

  16. and we all [know]no this is not good, God made us different for a reason not to mix it up and cause more problems than needs be …

    __Wonderful and intelligent comments you’re making here Diane… Please ignore the trolls here [Miner49er and others] that will try to suppress your 1st amendment rights. Some call what you refer to as ‘race mixing’, lol, as opposed to the concept and idea of ‘racial purity’>that being God’s intention perhaps? Man has strayed far from that by now. … race mixing>not good>cause more problems than needs be… Perhaps you’re right. All this above is what others sometimes say or THINK, but not me of course, lol, who am I to judge… But interesting comments Diane …

    • “Wonderful and intelligent comments you’re making here Diane”

      Yes, let’s celebrate our ‘racial purity‘!

      Fascinating.

  17. The amount of guns certainly has an effect on the way police train and use force.

    Gun control will have no effect on this. Criminals do not follow laws. The only way gun control could have an effect is if it was complete (i.e. no guns allowed) and lasted for generations so that the supply could dry up. And given the capability to manufacture firearms at home or simply bring guns into a porous border, it probably doesn’t matter. You are never going to disarm american policing. You might have some dumb people who go out there and call themselves police without being armed, but they’re not going to actually police anyone.

  18. blm, antifa, and others are all terrorist organizations and need to be treated like what they are, Terrorist

    __I could not agree with you more Diane. DJT will have more ‘flexibility’ to deal with them after the election.

    Black males make up about 8% of the U.S. population but commit 53% of all the murders in the U.S.. In 2018, there were ~4,800 African-Americans killed – 93% of them were killed by fellow African-Americans, so be careful Diane.

    sorry these people blacks lie there lips off

    __Like Al Sharpton and other ‘race’ and ‘poverty’ pimps. for example? Lies are just one tool in the devil’s tool box. There are many $$$ involved and rable rousers make a good living doing what they do. Politicians lie too, as you like your plan you can keep your plan and your health insurance will cost less.

    there are more rich blacks than ever before,

    ___Well yes, and while DJT has been POTUS they have done well, very $$$ well indeed. But we must do even more for them – yes?

    and the tv is loaded with blacks,

    __They must keep a certain number of blacks on tv at all times by rule. Like Al Roker he can stay on as a weather man for the next 100 years if he lives that long.

    they even try pushing mix races

    __They feel improved with ‘cream in the coffee’ and yet, with even one drop of black blood – they still be 100%black, like Obama. You see, in this way and by this the white race will, in effect, disappear – eventually. The government, in general, favors this as well as the way forward. But lighter skin color blacks look down on darker skin color blacks. The ones as dark as coal suffer the most prejudice.

  19. I have nothing against anyone working trying their best to have a life, the men well they let these hateful women try and make them little cry babies, these disgusting women need to let our men be men, not breaking Them into little freaks, so they can feel like a man that they will never be.

    ___They’re beaten down and ‘whipped’ as cuckolds. Many of them are like dogs kept on a short, very short, leash. They do want to feel like a man so often times they will live action role play LARP, for a brief time, before their leash is pulled by their masters. No doubt many of them are here at ttag. but they would never allow anybody to know how pu$$ whipped they are.

    __Oh YES. spot on and on point 100% … all the thugs and low lifes will, of course, ALWAYS have guns… they just steal them or get them on the black market, no problem… No amount of new gun laws, restrictions, or back ground checks will change this. Right now you’re on your own as society has broken down almost completely. In ATL now you call the cops you’re just SOL, lol. We’re getting to be like it was in the Mad Max films, or will get there soon.

    Mad Max is an Australian dystopian action media franchise/began in 1979 with Mad Max, and was followed by three films: Mad Max 2 (1981, released as The Road Warrior), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). a sequel is in development, with the working title of “Mad Max: The Wasteland” Definitely a Wasteland out there right now… Good Luck.

  21. Remember, you don’t need a gun because:

    * Justin Volpe
    * James Frascatore
    * Derek Chauvin
    * Scott Peterson
    * Tony Abbate
    * Mohammed Nur
    * Jon Burge
    * Alvin Weems

    will “protect” you.

  22. I kinda look at it this way , cuffed and placed in squad, maybe he would’ve lived. Knee on back of neck for 8 minutes =bad for anyone. Ambulance comes checks pulse with to fingers , no CPR tried at that point of video. No CPR = bad for anyone.

  23. My answer to ALL POLITICIANS is found in the back of a dollar bill. In God we trust. This whole nationwide thing right now is nothing more than a plot for gun control. I won’t waste my breath or time telling of genocide all the way back to Biblical times up to Hitler and Castro disarm the populace to gain complete control. Why bother you can’t pound common sense into a liberals head with a jackhammer.

  24. The question isn’t really whether more gun control laws will be passed. The question is will anybody listen to them? No bail for non-violent crimes. No stop and frisk. Blue Flue worse than ever. Nah. You can pass all the laws you want at this point. Nobody with any sense is going to follow them.

  25. Police reform?? How about a little Defective Citizen Reform….and we won’t need so much Police Reform. Anyone else never see any personal responsibility on the Black side of this issue. Greatly reduce your probability of becoming DRT, assuming atmospheric temperature if:
    -don’t knock someone to the ground, straddle them, and pound their head into the concrete;
    -don’t perform a strong arm robbery at local convenience store to get your Cigarillos to make dope blunts; walk down the center of the street; don’t slam patrol car door on officer; lean through window fighting for officer’s gun…discharging it; don’t run from cop; don’t bum rush officer;
    -don’t pass counterfeit $20 bills; don’t do drugs;
    -don’t fall asleep in fast food drive thru lane from drinking; don’t break away from cops handcuffing you for DUI arrest; don’t fight with two officers; don’t take their TASER; don’t fire TASER at cop; don’t run away;
    ….and on and on and on ad nausea.
    I practice not doing those things…and, know what? I haven’t been shot and killed by cops yet.
    Forest Gump nailed it. “Stupid is as stupid does.”
    Take some personal responsibility.

    • And tell the class what crime Kathryn Johnston committed to deserve to be murdered by the Atlanta PD?

      What crime did Michael Pleasance commit to deserve to be murdered by the Chicago PD?

      What crime did Patrick Dorismond commit to deserve to be murdered by the NYPD?

  26. We can hope Mr. Thompson practices what her preaches (unlikely since “the Left” are hypocrites) and finds himself at the mercy of one of those violent multicolored “urban” mobs so popular these days but then again he probably lives in the suburbs.

    I would wish Mr. Thompson’s family becomes victims of the Bolshevik death squads (Democratic Party stormtroopers) but like all of his kind their reaching their “expiration date” earlier than expected would have no impact because his selfishness and the agenda of stripping the law-abiding of their means of defense takes precedence over everything else including his so-called “loved ones”.

    It might be time to create online accounts in Mr. Thompson’s name, post inflammatory comments targeting certain communities and campaigns then let nature take it’s course, let’s see how he likes the same terror other Americans have faced when it suddenly appears on his doorstep.

    • “It might be time to create online accounts in Mr. Thompson’s name, post inflammatory comments targeting certain communities and campaigns then let nature take it’s course“

      I like it, I like it! Bearing false witness to cause pain and grief to others, superb!

      Thanks,
      The Lord of lies, Satan

  27. In the white privilege doesn’t end even if you are charged with murder:

    “Eight Minnesota correctional officers of color have filed a discrimination complaint alleging they were barred from guarding the white former police officer charged with murdering George Floyd, a Black man.

    The eight minority officers assigned to the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center in St. Paul complained to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights that the decision to segregate them and keep them away from fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, and the entire floor he was being housed on at the jail, was based solely on the color of their skin.

    “I am not aware of a similar situation where white officers were segregated from an inmate,” reads a statement in the complaint from a Black officer that was anonymously filed on Friday with the Department of Human Rights through his lawyer.”

  30. Read that as: “if you expect politicians to have the necessary power to make you safe, you have to give up all the ways you currently keep yourselves safe.”
