America’s Gun Violence Represents A Failure Of Leadership, Not Laws – Well duh . . .

Everything that happened in Florida that led to the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is a lesson in leadership, or the lack of it. And solutions that focus on laws instead of leadership are bound to fail. The disgraced Broward County sheriff, Scott Israel, whose office repeatedly ignored pleas to arrest the killer before the massacre and told officers at the scene to stand down, deserves much of the blame for the mishandling of the Parkland shooter.

The school resource officer who refused to do his duty and protect the children in that school when he heard them being gunned down was Israel’s responsibility. But Israel passed the buck. The deputy sheriff who told officers not to charge into the building to stop the shooter was Israel’s responsibility. He passed that buck, too. His office was repeatedly told prior to the shooting that the individual responsible was a violent threat to the community. Israel ignored that as well.

Gun Control: Why the Response to Parkland Was Different – Unlike the NRA, they were staged and ready to go . . .

The other thing that has helped keep the issue in the spotlight is infrastructure Moms Demand Action, its parent organization, Everytown, and Giffords have spent the last several years putting into place – a vast network of supporters, legislative experts, PR professionals and large amounts of money available to put behind the students’ spontaneous efforts.

The day after the shooting, members from the Tallahassee chapter of Moms Demand Action were already on the ground protesting at the state capital. The next day, Everytown had rolled out a five-point plan to remove NRA-backed politicians from office. Days after that, Giffords had rolled out a six-figure ad buy targeting Governor Rick Scott for his coziness with the NRA. (Scott signed the new restrictions in law a few weeks later.)

Most importantly, though, almost as soon as the Parkland students began planning their march, Everytown offered their support to help spread the movement across the country. They went on to create an open source tool kit anyone could download to plan a march in their town and pledge $2.5 million in grants to offset “operational expenses” of more than 400 marches set to take place in every state around the country.

California Democrats Intro Bill To Stop 2nd Amendment Groups from Raising Money – The next step in California’s attempt to fully disarm the state . . .

That’s right – if you think things couldn’t get any worse in California, Los Angeles Assemblyman Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) just introduced a bill that would outlaw any organization from raffling firearms.

AB 3199 would prohibit an authorized raffle conducted by eligible organizations (which Gun Owners of California and many like-minded groups are) from offering a firearm as a “prize.”

This is clearly a case where Democrats are doing everything they can to defund – and to eliminate organized opposition to their anti-gun policies.
Regardless of their intent, this will have no bearing whatsoever on crime in California. It is a punitive measure aimed directly at the thousands upon thousands of grassroots individuals who are members of organizations dedicated to the protection of the 2nd Amendment, hunting, firearms safety and training.

Arnold pawn shop owner shoots, kills attempted robber – Your feel-good story of the day . . .

Arnold police are investigating after a pawn shop owner shot and killed a man trying to rob the store Thursday afternoon.

Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey said the incident happened at Pawn King on Jeff Co Boulevard at around 4 p.m.

Shockey said the armed suspect came into the shop and attempted to rob the business when he was shot and killed. The owner was not hurt.

Advice from a Russian: Never Give Up Your Guns – Know your history . . .

For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the U.S. 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever-darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or homemade bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or “talking to them;” it is a bullet in the head. That is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.

The excuse that people will start shooting each other is also plain silly. So it is our politicians saying that our society is full of incapable adolescents who can never be trusted? Then, please explain how we can trust them or the police, who themselves grew up and came from the same culture?

No, it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives – leftists – hate guns. Oh no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step to their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in the hands of those whom they have slated for a gun barrel to the back of the ear.

  1. It’s easier to survive and fight back against being assaulted with a knife or a baseball bat than being shot.

Dying from a stabbing rampage or an assault with a blunt instrument is extremely as people can just simply surround the attacker and give him a heck of a beatdown.

And this website proves it is nothing but a puppet of russia since russian was found to have donated money to the NRA.

    • You ain’t from round here are ya? Also it would be much easier for me to fill him full of lead. Ya know. How it works here.

    • You’ve never been attacked by a knife or baseball bat, obviously. Unfortunately for you… so you could prove your point.

    • I do not agree with you and simply never will. There is no need to justify myself to you either. Have a nice day.

    • “It’s easier to survive and fight back against being assaulted with a knife or a baseball bat than being shot.”

The statistics on a stabbing vs. a shooting suggest that the GSW is more survivable than the stab wound.

Also, having actually been in a knife fight, where I didn’t get the pleasure of having my own knife, I assure you that it is not easy at all to fight back against a knife. Doing so is actually insanely dangerous and comes with a high likelihood of being fatal to you unless you’re trained to fight and have friends to back you up. Fighting back with a high chance of success requires multiple people willing to kill someone with their bare hands or their own knife/improvised weapon.

How many knife fights have you been in? How many times have you kicked someone in the head repeatedly? How many times have you filled out a police report after you just beat someone to within an inch of their life because they wouldn’t drop the knife and kept screaming that they were going to stab people to death? How many people’s faces have you beat to fucking hamburger because they decided to get drunk and high on some sort of upper and they wouldn’t drop the damn knife? How many times have you stopped to check to see if you’ve been stabbed or cut because the cops asked you about it when they arrived on scene?

I’m guessing exactly 0 times because if you had been through what I’ve been through you wouldn’t say the dumb shit that you do. Or, more likely, you’d be dead.

    • “And this website proves it is nothing but a puppet of russia since russian was found to have donated money to the NRA.”

Not only did a Russian donate money to the NRA, but the NRA was actually founded by Russia, to control the American government for nefarious purposes.

      #NRAisPutin’sBitch

      • Russia, Russia, Russia ! Russia is behind wanting to get the U S disarmed and then all the nut cases like BLM, the rag heads, Somalis, and other illegals will start destroying everything. Old Nikita said ” we will get you from within “. Self destruction.

    • There were about 3000 people in the World Trade Center that would disagree about the dangers of blunt force trauma…

Blunt force weapons are responsible for twice as many homicides as rifles. Bare hands are responsible for three times as many.

    • He’s back. His kind self-pleasure over these events. It took this long for the satisfaction to occur.

If you ever wanted to meet one of the new Red Guards, we have one here. Eager to denounce others and extract a confession, along with fingernails and teeth. And he longs to be part of the “Final Solution”.

And knows nothing about knife wounds and blunt force trauma, aside from Hollywood. The difference between a fatal knife wound and a non-fatal knife wound is very small. It doesn’t take much for a fatal bleed-out wound to occur. And as for a baseball bat, you will be lucky if you can use your major limbs again. Powdered bones cannot be reset. Concussion is not something you can walk off. The effects can last for months, years, and even be permanent (ask retired NFL players).

Da, and we are secret KGB agents trying to influence running dog USA to have more rights and liberties for American citizens. This is detrimental to decadent Western nation.
Joseph Stalin has shown brilliant path led by glorious Communist Party for Rodina.
Oooops…. is time to go to Soviet Tractor Factory in Stalingrad.
      Baka Komrade.

    • Nice, France. Happyland Disco. Oklahoma City. Waco. Bath School. Brussels train station. Iraqi suicide bombers. 9/11.

    • Really? You need to keep up with the prograd meme. They claim the Ruskies are trying to cause political turmoil. That would indicate they are funding the MOMs and the assorted antigun wackos. Funded thru that pinko Soros would be a logical conclusion.

    • 260 million people were murdered by various regimes in the 20th century. Get the guns out of the hands of governments, and then we can talk about civilian disarmament.

  2. Hey TTAG, how about blocking the Russian troll farm bot? It seems to be stuck in some Pelosi-esque loop again.

Oh, and you likely meant “lightning,” as in quick. Not “lightening” as in reduced weight.

  3. Never Give Up Your Guns

… until The Powers That Be — government and/or corporate — simply make it financially and socially impossible for you to own a gun. You will then voluntarily surrender your firearms.

  4. I like Russia, and Putin. We fucked up by supporting China, a communist country. A stronger allie we could not have then Russia.

    • I try, but here I sit using a cell phone. Even the Amish failed. My tinfoil hat tells me in the near future ,100-200 years, whats left of mankind, will be under the thumb of a ruling class computer controlled government. My tin foil hat also tells me that the far future 300,000 years, will be devoid of homo sapiens.

  5. “Arnold police are investigating after a pawn shop owner shot and killed a man trying to rob the store Thursday afternoon.”

I’ve never known a pawn broker who *wasn’t* packing. I never intend to rob anyone, but if I did, a pawn shop would be very, very low on my list of potential targets.

  6. Everytown For… is a foreign funded domestic terrorism organization whose goal is to overthrow the U.S. Constitution.

  7. Why do gun grabbers and politicians always attack the hardware ? An AR 15 cannot load itself, aim and fire. It’s the wacko using the weapon. So there will be another assault weapons ban which will do nothing. I have no idea how you identify and stop the next mass shooter but that’s where they need to start. I at first thought just get rid of these types of guns. But now I will not deny any one’s 2nd. A right to own anything they want.

  8. “Abolish the NRA”

Why do these morons think you can abolish a private organization? Or do they think it’s part of the government?

  9. Great idea re: the Citi card. I have an REI Coop card, and I _was_ going to cancel it (and my REI membership). Now I’m going to buy gun stuff. Thanks!
