Every day, readers email The Truth About Guns links to articles for possible blog posts. While I appreciate the links and welcome the editorial submissions, I’ve got to say Uncle. I’ve got 724 messages in my in-box. I can no longer answer every email and Dan and I can’t blog fast enough to keep up. So I’m starting this Instapundit-like feature to provide pre-screened linkage to the best of the gun stories we can’t blog. (Send links to: [email protected].) Make the jump for today’s Daily Digest. Readers remarks in quotes. As always, thank you for your patience, patronage and passion . . .

businessinsider.com claims to tell THE TRUTH ABOUT GUNS IN AMERICA: If We Want To Be Safer, We Need To Change The Constitution. Good luck with that. Not. At all. Ever.

“The libs look the other way while a major internet retailer sells crack pipes by the 36 count.” Amazon sells crack pipes but 30-round mags are evil. Go figure.

“Yes, there are some dumb statements, some complete FUD, however our side gets in some solid hits.” Almost civil debate on Sandy Hook and Gun Control, at npr.org no less.

“Tucson Councilman Kozachik, along with his new best friend, Karen Uhlich, are calling for repeal of ARS 13-3108, the firearms preemptions statute. It seems Kozachik would like to regulate firearms without regard to Arizona’s Constitution and state law.” azstarnet.com

“It’s also mildly amusing/disturbing how closely all the nerdy, medicated, spree-killing geeks resemble the progressive pundits who are caterwauling for unilateral disarmament of the citizenry.” A list of spree killers and their meds at takimag.com

And here it is: the NRA’s National School Shield. No details yet. Like any other bureaucratic boondoggle I expect this program to get bogged down big time. I hope I’m wrong.

Is that what you call it? Billboard Pays Tribute To School Shooting Victims @ wbur.org. John Rosenthal, the man paying for the anti-gun agit prop, is the same gun grabber I debated at my local Fox affiliate. I forgot to ask the self-professed gun owner if he has an LTC.

“With all the sturm und drang about Wayne LaPierre’s suggestion that we should put cops in schools, where’s the anti-gunner outrage over Barbara Boxer’s proposal to put National Guard troops in schools?” touch.latimes.com

Here’s something that gives a little hope. I certainly don’t agree with everything G. North has done but there is no argument he is one insightful dude.” Why the Gun Control Movement is Doomed @ garynorth.com

  1. If they ban the 2A then they should also ban all the other amendments and the constitution, because they’ll be no better than used up toilet paper.

    • I enlisted in the Marine Corps to protect the Constitution, not watch it destroyed with the Patriot Act, the Enemy Combatant designation, and gun control laws. I won’t do anything illegal because I’m better than that but I will use every legally availible avenue to fight to restore the Constitution. This crap needs to stop.

  2. TTAG readers suggestions are great, but they need to be out there responding on their own.

I don’t care if your hack political rep is a God cursed communist, write anyway. Then call, and email. Not once, but as often as you have time for.

RESPOND in forums. Fight in newspaper editorial comments sections. Anywhere where commenting is available. Post again, and again. Wear the bastards down. As much as time and energy allows. Run out of things to say? Recycle you old comments.DO NOT let the gun grabbers control the battle-space.

Make all this a habit. Do SOMETHING every time you are logged on Yes it’s tiring. It’s less tiring that a swat teams bullet in your head when they come for your guns.

Not a good wordsmith? Use somebody else’s who YOU agree with. Use MINE. I seriously doubt many on the pro-gun side gives a damn about copyright or attribution in this fight.

    WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Someone to rally you? Some pivitol pro-gun leader to inspire you? YOU are an individual with rights, granted by GOD codified in the Constitution and bill of rights.

    ACT LIKE IT.

    Do it like the Marines:

DO IT RIGHT. DO IT FAST. ABOVE ALL, DO IT NOW!

And stop expecting someone else to do it for you.

  3. Think your missing it FR, your doom and gloom dont help! grassroots activism like I saw in your W. VA video today and hope to see in Texas soon. If we are to win we as gun owners and true believers in freedom and the real American Dream must talk be vocal online and every other way. And we can win this. Look on how that black guy said and used logic in that video you just posted how sain and factual he was. Shows we got more support tan you think and not from just what the media says are “normal” gun owners we need to unit and win Thats what we need enough blame on a speech you might not like and or panic buying and not uniting all gun owners unit we will win.

  4. Those who don’t want trained armed guards, be they staff (best) or police (absolutely horrible, but better than nothing) care more about bankers’ profits (they don’t mind armed guards at banks) than school children.

Those that want to keep military arms out of the hands of law abiding citizens need to read the Declaration of Independence and discover just how un-American they really are.

  5. UGH! If they increase security in schools (and they probably will) they will do it Barbara Boxer style with surveillance cameras, metal detectors (and wanding kids at spread eagle at every beep), barbed wire and who knows what else. They will only make public schools government indoctrination camps more prison-like than they already are.

  6. The only way to change minds is to challenge anyone that is openly anti-gun by being rational, calm, and polite in response.

Don’t argue. Don’t yell. If they become loud, obnoxious, and “violent” then simply call them out on their hypocrisy and move on. In fact, record it if you can and post it on Youtube.

Gather and record your gun-loving friends and family and record their reasons for owning guns and post that as well. Perception is everything.

    To the anti-gunners:
All you have to do is look at history and you’ll realize humanity is simply divided into two groups. One side that wants to live by a set of rules that benefit everyone, and those that don’t live by those rules that are only out for themselves.

The thing that anti-gunners forget is in order to live by a society governed by the rule of law is those laws need to be enforced by whatever force is available that can stop those that don’t live by those same laws from hurting the law-abiding in society. It just so happens that guns are that force.

That is reality folks. Until someone invents a freeze ray that is non-lethal and 100% effective at neutralizing bad guys, guns are at least going to be around for another couple hundred years.

And the reality is bad guys have them. So disarming the good guys is last thing you want to do.

    • The antis are on a witch hunt. Facts, reason, and politeness are lost on people who are calling for the heads, literally, of all gun owners and are blaming us all for the actions of a very few ill young men in which we had no part.

      • It also strikes me strange and disturbing that all the hateful and violent comments are posted by “peace-loving” anti-gunners.

        • Peace is a word. Peace-loving is an action. I’ve never known those who love peace to actually need to tell anyone such but some of the things I’ve read in papers and online tell such a tale it is as though “peace” is something that guns don’t have a hand in. So…if you look at it that way, it justifies being hateful.

No less ignorant and closed-minded but I suppose that’s the going logic for flaming the average gun-owner who is vocal about his rights.

  7. Robert, what you’ve done here is an EXCELLENT idea. Please consider making this a permanent feature on TTAG.

Mr. Reynold’s Instapundit format and content make it, in my humble opinion, the best news aggregator out there. TTAG could be #2. 😉

  8. Drawings Of Weapons Led To New Jersey Student’s Arrest.
    http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2012/12/19/superintendent-drawings-of-weapons-led-to-new-jersey-students-arrest/

A teacher noticed drawings of what appeared to be weapons in his notebook. School officials made the decision to contact authorities.

Police removed the 16-year-old boy from Cedar Creek High School in Galloway Township Tuesday afternoon after school officials became concerned about his behavior.

The student was taken to the Galloway Township Police Department.

Police then searched the boy’s home on the 300 block of East Spencer Lane and found several electronic parts and several types of chemicals that when mixed together, could cause an explosion, police say.

The unidentified teen was charged with possession of a weapon an explosive device and the juvenile was placed in Harbor Fields.

  9. I can’t imagine the logic behind banning the Second Amendment only because it logistically does not make sense. How can you let the wrongs of a few people determine the rights of so very many people as a whole? It’s unconscionable.

    • How can you let the wrongs of a few people determine the rights of so very many people as a whole? It’s unconscionable.

No, it’s America. The same America that interned its citizens and stole their property because their skin was yellow. The same America that violently breaks into people’s homes at gunpoint only to find that they’re in the wrong house. The same America who uses the family poodle for target practice. The same America that spends billions on security so that it can put it’s hands down an old woman’s panties. The same America that spends hundreds of billions on police and then insists in court that it has no responsibility to keep anyone safe.

It’s as American as cherry pie, my friend.
