Over the last week, TTAG has been making things “better” for our readers. My grandfather used to always tell me “if it’s not broke, don’t try and fix it.” Well, in this case, as many of you have noticed, I broke things on a couple of occasions. But as our maximum leader had explained to me over the weekend, sometimes you have to break things in order to make things better. Now that things have been ironed-out and the proverbial baby has been put to bed, things have definitely improved for the better . . .
Robert and I wanted to let everyone know what had been added/expanded in Robert’s quest carry TTAG’s message to the masses… Hmmm… That sounded a little like some politicians we have heard in recent years. The difference: we are doing this to educate those in this country that have been lead to believe by those in power that the 2nd Amendment that so many of us love is the root cause of all the violence in this country and the only way to “fix” things is to ban them all. You have to love the logic. I digress…
Changes
- The TTAG site has been migrated to multiple server redundant environment
- Traffic is now load-balanced between multiple web servers to better handle large traffic spikes and more posts/comments
- All images, documents, videos, etc. that have been posted to the site have been moved to a content distribution network (CDN) to provide better page load times and a higher level of quality of service
- WordPress has been modified to provide fail-over capabilities for those hopefully rare cases of server failure, to continue to provide the high level of services that everyone has grown accustomed to
With these changes in place, we have the infrastructure necessary to handle more visitors in our constant effort to educate the masses and show the politicians what “speaking truth to power” really means.
I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for their patience during the last two weeks with the hiccups that have been experienced. And yes, I’m working on the *&(^*&^(* iPhone app. Simplicity is complicated shit. Don’t you know.
TTAG used to load in mobile view on my phone, now it doesn’t… can you fix that?
I second Seabiscuit’s comment…mobile view via iPhone is barely functional. Presentation is awful. 🙁
I’ve got my man working on it. He needed a break after a solid week of tweaking. Wait, that didn’t come out right . . .
I am actually trying to get that working as we speak, so give me a bit to figure out what is wrong.
Mobile is back. At least on iPhone.
Working on all mobile platforms, android included for me.
A fine job, lad!
Woo hoo! I say woo hoo to you! Thank you Stephen.
Much better!
Glad it’s working for everyone… Like my wife always tells me, I may be slow, but I do quality work!
Happy Blogging…
Future iPhone app? Please don’t forget Android!!
The Droid version of the site is up and running. Any good?
