As I was at the 2017 SHOT Show last week, last week’s podcast didn’t happen. But I’m back this week to talk a bit more about reloading as well as the highs and lows of SHOT including a discussion of “The Fix”, Hudson’s new H9, CADEX’s Kraken, and my success at getting other people to pay for my food in Vegas.

  1. What do you think about the notion that this year’s shot show contained relatively ‘less’ innovation, due to the consensus of the expected political environment (POTUS Hillary)?

I.e., designers expected to be entering a constrained legal environment, where significantly more gun control measures were on the table.

Now that the opposite environment has appeared ?, next year should inspire some truly innovative products testing the ‘new boundaries’ of the NFA……..thoughts?……..

    • Well, it *has* been kind of a golden age of development for five straight years, after all…it’s not like that can be maintained/accelerated forever. We’ve seen the entire industry embrace AR18 clones based in aluminum/polymer with modern modularity features, as well as shroud-locking striker fired polymer pistols inspired by the Glock. What is next? Who knows, probably silencers, if Trump wills it…

  2. Parting with boiled chicken? WTF?

Anywho, I’m interested in the charge master II. Priced way better than the original. Guess I’m too old school. I use an electronic scale with a powder trickler.

I’m working on a bit of a detailed article on how I do load development. Very similar to yours.

Guess I should look into that Kraken rifle. Or just pony up for a Blaser R8.
(Or if Kevin would integrate an R8 style bolt to the “fix”…. Then it really would be the “fix”!)
