Get off my lawn! And while we’re at it, why do you deserve to be safe? What have you done that earns you that right? Never mind that. Please point to the bit of the United States Constitution that protects your right to be “safe.” The right to keep and bear arms protects your right to defend yourself by force of arms. Or for your parents and others to defend you. But it does NOT create a right to be safe. Nothing can do that. You want to be safe? Show me some military drills, please. And put on some clothes. Jeez.

  1. The only way to ensure safety is to eradicate liberty. I’ll take danger over servitude.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
    – Benjamin Franklin

  2. Salesmen always talk about what you “deserve” when they don’t want you to think about the price. It works for motorcycles, it works for politics.

  3. First step in being safe is to not walk around near nekkid in public. How can you conceal a gun, knife, spare ammo, pepper spray and cell phone in one of those outfits?

        • I was thinking of buying one of those for a motorcycle jacket pocket / backup gun for my GP100 I carry, but I think I’m going to go with a Bond Arms derringer instead. A little heavier than the LCR and without a cylinder gap it should be a little more powerful. Not sure I’d enjoy my full pressure Double Tap .357s out of a 16 oz. revolver.

But yes, thank God for LCRs and derringers too. Women wear plenty of clothes as it is IMHO.

  4. DO SOMETHING

Just think how more effective this video of artistic high schoolers would be if at the end a LEO walked across the frame.

    • In the very last frame when they’re all lined up, the girls began contorting like they were going to spell out a one word message, with their bodies as letters.

For a moment I saw “DISARMALLMEN” or something.

  5. This is what we get when our youth have spent their lives listening to liberals telling them they deserve health care, they deserve food stamps, they deserve “affordable” housing, etc. ad nauseam.

    • +1 this and: These young girls are a perfect example of bad parenting and the current public education system in the U.S.. It would be interesting to actually find out how many of these girls were told that to stay on the dance team they could NOT refuse to participate in this action.

  6. “Well, shit, they started dancing. Okay, America, the jig is up; turn ’em all in.”

I used to be one, so I know teenagers usually have a hard time understanding the way reality works, but do these boneheads really think public policy is decided by the plot of Footloose?

        • Isn’t Ironic how Dirty Dancing was all about personal responsibility and class. Low and behold, it was Patrick Swayze who was the responsible one. He was absent from this dance routine….

      • Wait…32 is “old” now? Goddammit.

Well, they did remake Footloose a few years ago, because this newest bumper crop of idiots apparently can’t enjoy a movie if doesn’t include a bunch of gratuitous references to social media. But, as someone who still recalls the plot of Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo, I can assure the youth of today that dancing is a great method to save a beloved community youth center from being closed down by greedy land developers, but it’s not a valid way to advance the gun control platform.

    • You have to understand; these teens took the time out of their schedule to do what their mom’s already had scheduled for them at their normal place during the normal time. Ok, so it wasn’t out of their schedule, but they still had to work on this thing they were going to work on anyway. Well, they did have to find someone with a camera and the ability to put in a song. That’s a lot to ask of someone that has to worry about such important things as Bobby liking Susie, but Susie likes Jimmy, and Sally wants to date Bobby. Furthermore, these are teens, the best and brightest of our non-voting, minor-aged population.

      • “That’s a lot to ask of someone that has to worry about such important things as Bobby liking Susie, but Susie likes Jimmy, and Sally wants to date Bobby.”

That’s the least of their worries nowadays. Now they’re primarily concerned about getting that perfect selfie, racking up facebook/instagram likes, obtaining proper thigh-gap, making it past level 937 on Candy Crush Saga, having a newer smartphone than Sally’s, and figuring out a way to put some Plan B on mommy’s credit-card without her finding out.

        • making sure your legs aren’t too fat so that the thighs smoosh together when you are standing, or too skinny so that there is too much open space between them when you are standing (that makes you a politically-incorrect fat-shamer). Hard to be a proper teenager these days I guess.

  7. What they mean is they have a right to *feel* safe, and hey we have all those “Gun free zone” signs for that right? Like you I cannot find that right stated anywhere in the constitution, bill of rights, declaration of independence, emancipation proclamation, congressional record, etc. Next time they all have their hands up surrendering helplessly like that ask them for a cite, yeah?

  8. In this leftist uprising they bring out their greatest weapon: interpretive dance.
This is why they want to rid the world of all guns, then their interpretive dance will be the scourge of the battlefield and they can complete their cultural revolution.

Obviously they haven’t heard the Gorillaz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gonPVgjIF6w

    • And there you have it. I cannot think of a better way to illustrate the difference between Progressives and sane people. In the face of violent spree killers: Progressives turn to interpretive dance — sane people arm themselves.

  9. BRILLIANT! A psycho mass shooter shows up, you’ll going to bore him to death with interpretive dance.

  10. Millions of us ARE doing something tangible to keep our loved ones safe, despite the efforts of ignorant people who want to make us helpless.

  11. Yes….we all want peace and safety.
But without layer upon layer of sleepless security and without men and women dedicated to do the dirty work to stop the aggressors of our time…..we simply will never have real safety.
So channel your concerns and dont ask me to do something FOR you….I’m busy protecting myself, my family , my friends and nieghbors if the need should present itself.
I simply suggest that you DO the same.
I know if there is another hijacking of a plane in this country…id bet real money that even grandmas are going to war with the idiots.
Well…time to go at active shooters as well….all good people in our country should just step up the response to these morons.bring it to them!

  12. So, you want safety? First things first children. Quit sexualizing yourself by wearing skimpy clothing. Pedophiles seem to love that crap.

  13. People who walk around believing they have a right to be safe don’t deserve to be even if such a right did exist.

  14. “Please do something! We deserve to be safe!”

Lol. Then don’t drive vehicles on public roads. Don’t eat refined sugar. Don’t walk on sidewalks. Don’t engage in sports. Etc. In fact, just stay at home and never leave the house … You deserve to be safe!

Me and mine deserve to be free.” And we don’t want to eat your force fed safety BS. We don’t want safety, we want freedom.

  15. If it wasn’t for their mention of Tuscon I’d believe that their meaning of ‘do something’ was to get rid of ‘gun free zones’ since all the other shootings occurred in defenseless victim zones. Not sure what they’re getting at. Wouldn’t want to misinterpret their dance.

    • See, the message I’m getting from their dance is that the doctor had to pack their skulls with cotton so the tiny, pink jellybean growing from their spinal cord would stop rattling around in there. Isn’t is wonderful how postmodern art is so open to interpretation?

  16. Very little that is more silly than a group of teenage girls (except perhaps girl dancers).

Girls you are safe at school. What “more safe” then ask your teachers to carry.

Columbine was April 20, 1999. You girls weren’t even BORN and you claim tramatized?

Sell out your dance instructor who planted/choreographed this drivel. Who is abusing young skulls full of mush in this way?

    • Too late already done…..

They are 18 right……. you can make underage girls get nearly nekid and prance around on video as long as it’s anti gun….. wooow now I get it

      • “Nearly nekkid”?

That’s ten times as much cloth as they’d wear at a beach or swimming pool.

  17. Fast forward ten years when they have families and young children of their own. Armed? You better believe it.

    Pawns.

  18. All i can think about is west side story. Sharks and jets.
    Officer krumpky.
How would they tackle this problem?

  19. The next time someone is breaking into my house in the middle of the night I’ll make sure to call a group of teenagers to flail their arms around in my lawn.

    • LOL! Some of the youtube comments are good, too.

“Well you waved your arms around and swung on a swing set. I’m sure that will result in a huge reduction in gun crime.”

“You ladies want safety, eh. Then why don’t you… I don’t know… take self-defense classes, buy a weapon and learn how to use it. Dancing and whining ain’t gonna do anything.”

  20. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? OK OK that is in the Declaration of Independence, however,,,,,,,,,

  21. Their timing is way off, maybe their Ritalin or Prozac is not working well. Once they get out on their own they will realize that the real world is not a safe place no matter how hard you wish upon a star. Or move to NY, they have the SAFE Act, it has to be safe there.

  22. You are either deliberately straw-manning this, being reactionary, or simply reading into this. I think you’ve been in the trenches too long.

Nobody said anything about a Right to be safe. Nobody said anything about a Right to deserve to be safe. They simply said “deserve to be safe”. I can’t really disagree with that statement – not where the average non-criminal is concerned. Anyone conducting themselves in society in a civil manner, anyone not initiating violence, or denying the Rights or Property of others, can reasonably be said to be deserving of safety.

    • I thought about it a bit, and I think you have a point. To the extent that “deserve” does have anything to do with it (see “Unforgiven” reference below), I would say they don’t, to my knowledge, “deserve” to be in peril. But the fact is that, in this vale of tears in which we live, we are all in peril of some threat to our lives to a greater or lesser extent.

  23. You ladies want to be safe? You are absolutely not safe from the 1,163,146 violent crimes reported last year throughout the United States according to FBI statistics.

There were 137 mass shooting victims in 2013, Your chance of being involved with one of those pales compared to the chance of being robbed, raped, beaten, assaulted or kidnapped which is a massive eight thousand, two hundred and ninety-three times higher (8,293).

    https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/violent-crime/violent-crime-topic-page/violentcrimemain_final

So go on, tell people who can do math why you want to be disarmed and unable to defend yourselves against much more likely events.

  24. I suppose you do deserve to be safe. I’d be glad to help keep you safe, but thanks to a bunch of people who just had to do something (anything…even if it’s stupid…), I can’t.

Heck, I own some of the best life-protecting, defensive tools humanity has ever invented (hint: we call them “guns”), but if I brought one within 1,000 feet of your school (or my kids’ school), I’d be an instant criminal. And I don’t want to break the law.

So you, and my own kids too, will have to keep on being helpless, unprotected targets for publicity-craving lunatics when you’re in the government’s care. (At least my wife and I can protect our own kids as we see fit when they get home…but your “do something” crowd would take that away too if they could.)

So good luck with that safety thing. Talk to your schools and your legislators, because as much as I’d like to, I can’t do a damn thing for any of you. Sucks, but that’s the truth.

    • Get your state’s carry license and you are exempt from the federal school GFZ law in “your” state. Hopefully you don’t live in NJ or someplace awful like that.

      • I do have a concealed-carry license, and I put it to good use. Unfortunately the state I live in, although otherwise mostly 2A-friendly, has enshrined schools as magical gun-free zones in state law.

Where I live, there’s a single SRO who divides his time between 5 schools. Fortunately violent crime is incredibly rare here (our last murder happened in 2005), but violence was rare in Roseburg too…until it wasn’t.

    • “So you, and my own kids too, will have to keep on being helpless, unprotected targets for publicity-craving lunatics when you’re in the government’s care.”

You know, you can do something about that as well. To put your kids in that situation is a choice. I know a lot of folks don’t like to hear that stated that way, but it is.

You don’t HAVE to drop them off at the Gun Free Indoctrination Center every day. You choose to.

  25. They can have safety (relatively) and we should do something…something like making firearm safety and marksmanship a required part of elementary education.

  26. I’m pretty sure that all of those girls are already statistically extremely safe from “gun violence”. None of them appear to be gang members or drug dealers, demographics that are responsible for (and recipients of) the vast majority of “gun violence” in this country.

  27. Careful where you tread fellows. It appears that you are ready to attack anyone including teenage girls who, according to me and my guns, are strictly off limits. No comments. No ogling. Nothing. Let them be or suffer the wrath of an angry gun tot’n father!

    • Thanks for the input Doc, but the 1stA is at least as important as the 2ndA. If teenage girls are goo to participate in anti freedom propaganda, they are not immune to the criticism for doing so.

  28. Of course they deserve to be safe.

That’s why their parents have the right to keep and bear arms — to work at keeping them safe.

EVERYONE deserves to be safe. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) we don’t always get what we deserve. Usually, we have to work for it. So after your dance sessions, get your bodies down to the shooting range and practice a sort of exercise that will actually contribute to safety: arms extended, good grip, aim, pull…..

  29. Don’t we deserve to be safe from mind numbing, dumbed down social engineering disguised as a grass roots movement?

    • Reminds me of that terminally-creepy vid that came out when Obama first ran for Pres–titled something like “One afternoon in a neighborhood in [somewhere or other]”…all these brie-and-chablis libs gathered up their kids in a house, with an appropriately ‘diverse’ choir director (female Asian), where the kids lined up and sang a pean to Obama:
      “Obama’s gonna change it
      Obama’s gonna reeee-arrange it…”
We’re talkin’ like 8 to 10 year-olds here. Supposed to be a spontaneous gathering. Utterly soul-chilling.

  30. Safety is an illusion we create to have a sense of security.

Even in the fictional utopia of Star Trek it was impossible to guarantee safety. Hundreds of millions died in most of the movies. And thousands of people in each series.

  31. I live in Oregon, and every day since the “incident”, in the Register Rag (Register Guard), as well as the local TV news, there has been a lot of “feel good” sessions, much crying and hugging and sorrow. Every one is running around tripping out on grief!
I get this, but what pisses me off is there’s hardly a word said about how to prevent the next “attack”. The letters to the editor section in the local Rag prints four times the letters from anti gunners, as they do from POTG’s.
Can you actually believe the school security officers were “unarmed”, and now that they have had a major incident, they still will be unarmed!
If ever I have seen an example of an ostrich sticking it’s head in the sand, this is it! You can’t fix stupid!
