5.56 always seems to have trouble with the windshields.
If you can find any buy some Federal Tactical. My first five Galil mags are loaded with it. I was twice invited to the range to shoot/test ammunition. This ammo expanded to 60 percent original caliber and retained near 100 percent weight in ballistic gelatin after penetrating everything from clothing to plywood and drywall. Except windshields. In that case, the “mushroom cap” was sheared away, but the core was intact with a little over half weight retention. 55 grain ball made an impressive hole in the laminated glass, fragmented and peppered the gelatin with spall and glass fragments. No significant penetration. Best hope is the eyes. Apologies to Heat.
Invited by Federal/CCI. They kept meticulous records.
Noted for future shopping thank you. Mostly I would probably use M855 for the purpose but your suggestion does sound like a better all around option. Great how a joke at old complaints of milspec performance can draw cool alternatives out.
SAFE, this ammunition is also built to be very reliable. Nickel plated case, sealed primer pocket and moly coated projectile. The 175 rounds I mentioned are all I have. A word of caution, you will discover this ammo hard to find and expensive if you do. That said, if you find some, and don’t want it, let me know. I’ll buy it. Even a single box.
Forgot to say. This is a bonded core bullet.

Guessing this might be a newer version than what you are talking about but in case it is correct it does seem to be for sale around a dollar per round. NY makes online orders difficult but I can’t imagine your state would mess with it if you are inclined.
Hornady TAP 62 and 70 gr did excellent against auto glass in tests I conducted. Little deflection.
Safe I’ve built several windshield platforms and shot ball and SP into hanging milk jugs behind them out to 100yds with less than 1/2” deviation.
What is it your having issues with?
Poking fun at how much attention the concept was given during training when the worst of anything we saw in practice was about what Gadsden described with some level of bullet designation for only the M193 and even then not often. We barely noticed deflection with armored glass when we were messing with ap ammo. It’s a concept we were trained extensively on that ended up being barely relevant with typical issued ammo and occasionally I see people get super into it later on and it is a bit amusing but occasionally produces gems of information.
I see
Lol
I needed a laugh! Had a terrible time putting my new gat back together last hour. All is well now🙂
Love my single shot H&R Pardner, LOL.
I gotz a H&R in 12 and another in 20, Damn, they work.
Biden Uses UNLV Handgun Shooting To Push National Ban On AR-15s. (or… Gun Free Zone kills again, mentally ill killer once again takes advantage of, basically, law guaranteeing them defenseless prey and once again police did not save those injured or killed. However, on that day nationwide a gun, including this event, was used in less than 0.5% of the violent crimes on that day nationwide and other weapons were used including knives and hand/feet and blunt objects).

Have you ever heard the joke about the Nun, a fortune teller, a fiddle, and a train?
Why no, I haven’t, possum.
Won’t you regale us with the interactions of the two characters, a musical instrument, and their method of transportation?
