“Here at Yellow Jacket, we know from first-hand experience what is needed in a violent situation to escape danger. We have designed our iPhone 4 stun gun case to be easily deployable with one hand. In less than two seconds, both safety mechanisms can be deactivated and the Yellow Jacket stun gun is ready for action. Compare this to a regular stun gun which can take five to ten seconds to find and deploy. Our iPhone stun gun case is capable of stopping an aggressive attacker. The 650K volt of electricity flows from the electrodes and into the assailant upon contact providing a potential victim with the opportunity to escape danger. Unlike other phone cases, the Yellow Jacket iPhone 4 case gives you the ability to defend yourself. Android models coming soon!” PS: home carry, people. Home carry.
Looks like a nice tool to have in the toolbox.
It is another tool for the toolbox, sure,
and it does have it’s uses, true.
They are great at intimidation.
Most stunguns though must be held
in contact with flesh for several seconds
to acheive incapacatation.
That’s several seconds at contact distance
with someone who is doing their
level best to kill or harm you.
Pepper gass affects vision instantly.
and gives you distance.
A knife can incapacitate faster.
A gun gives you range,
and fast incapacitation.
You just have to choose the right tool, or tools, for you,
and your situation
Unless the thug is someone like me, that can eat raw Habanero peppers. Pepper spray stings me mildly and is annoying.
Pepper gas needs to be shook and used in an area that is not enclosed and not windy.
At the range that pepper spray would be effective I would rather use a pistol. Hand-to-hand it would be that stun gun or my knife.
The stun gun would have one advantage–in a place with security they aren’t going to give a smartphone case a second look unless it’s a courthouse or police station. The $8/hour temp guards at a sporting event will most likely be blissfully unaware. The other alternative would be a knife made out of glass-filled nylon.

Hey! Get off my name! lol.
Also, how easily could this be considered “Brandishing”? Anyone?
Impossible in my state (AZ), can’t speak for others though.
Gimmick.
The founder should have just home carried. Seriously though… people have their gun buried in a pocket or purse. If I’m the victim of a violent crime, I’m going straight for the bangswitch, not some shocky phone case. The gun has more range, more power, and doesn’t depend on a battery. This honking thing is a lot bigger than an LCP.
You’re missing the point. Not an either/or proposition.
If you are at stun gun range then you don’t need “range.” This could enable you to get to your weapon at home (a delaying action) and if you’re out, you may just have it in your hand.
I home carry, but I do not home carry my 12ga.
With me the point is moot as I do not own a smartphone and will most likely never own an Apple product.
Hmmm…. what could go wrong?? Holding a stun gun to the side of your own head every time you use the phone? Naaaaaaaaa…. nothin’ wrong with that idea. Next, the folks at Red Jacket (any relation?) will design the “iDerringer,” a double-barreled .22-Mag iPhone case. 🙂
Please don’t give them ideas.
HEH-HEH
THE POSSIBILITIES
HEH-HEH
Brilliant! A handgun designed to look like a mobile phone! It should be able to fire from within the carrying holster or case. This is revolutionary. Who says that guns must look like traditional guns?
Stungun next to the head ?
Bluetooth headset to the rescue.
NEVA BEN DUN BEFO!
If you thought butt-dialing was embarassing,…
Was just thinking that.
LET’S SEE-
SIMPLE SAFETY,
USER UNDER THE INFLUENCE,
THE VARIATION OF POSSIBILITIES,
I’M CRACKING UP ALREADY.
hmmm i can definitely think of some uses for this sucker. I mean hell we’ve all seen the sheeple walking round with cell phones in their hands 24/7. Now you blend in with the crowd don’t seem like your really well armed and if bad guy closes distance with you….zzzzzzpppt. lol i want one.
