  1. Guess I need to make a poster. Just did a bit of work on these to put the 32 deaths per day from guns in perspective. Daily deaths (2013 CDC figures) from:

    All causes: 7,115
Other than accidental deaths (diseases such as cancer, heart disease, etc.): 6757 (just under 95% of all deaths)
    ALL accidental deaths: 358 (5%)
Firearm related accidental deaths: 1.38 (under 2/100ths of 1%)
ALL suicides: 113 (just under 1.6%)
Suicides without a gun: 55 (just under 8/10th of 1%)
Suicides with a gun: 58 (just over 8/10ths of 1%)
ALL Homicides: 44 (just over 6/10ths of 1%)
Not gun related homicides: 13 (Just under 2/10ths of 1%)
Gun related homicides: 31 (just under 4.4/10ths of 1%)

Some obvious rounding issues due to some of the extremely small numbers on some of these causes of death. But I think everyone gets the picture. How can some of these numbers be put into perspective on a sign or a campaign to show the hypocrisy of the Anti-Gun Crowd focusing so much on restrictive gun laws?
