Joe Biden

Joe Biden isn’t doing well. We’re not talking about his mental acuity…his poll numbers are in the toilet, sinking a lower with each passing month. And his policies are dragging Democrats down with him.

That’s a big problem with midterm elections coming up fast. So with his party facing what many predict will be electoral armageddon, the White House has taken a surprisingly muted approach to the opportunity presented by this past weekend’s shooting at a Buffalo, New York grocery store, at least in terms of pushing their gun control agenda.

The superannuated Commander In Chief flew Air Force One to upstate New York this morning to stand before the cameras and say a few obligatory words about the supermarket massacre. But with a couple of prominent exceptions, he refrained from calling for Congress to pass a new “assault weapons” ban. He didn’t say, ‘NRA.’ There was no mention of deer in Kevlar vests or the much-reviled Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

Biden’s been shouting about those bogie men for years now. He’s held two Rose Garden events during which he awkwardly yelled, whispered, and lied his way through pre-formatted talking points demonizing the Second Amendment, firearms, the companies who make them, and the increasing number of Americans who choose to exercise their right to keep and bear arms.

Instead, he declared in Buffalo that . . .

“The American experiment in democracy is in danger like it hasn’t been in my lifetime. It’s in danger this hour. Hate and fear being given too much oxygen by those who pretend to love America but who don’t understand America.”

As the AP reports, Biden said . . .

“These actions we’ve seen, these hate-filled attacks, represent the views of a hateful minority,” Biden said.

“We have to refuse to live in a country where black people going about a weekly grocery shopping can be gunned down by weapons of war deployed in a racist cause,” he added. “We have to refuse live in a country where fear and lies are packaged for power and for profit.”

The closest he came to calling — yet again — for Congress to act on his wish for more gun control legislation was when he noted that, “We can keep assault weapons off of our streets. We did it before and violence went down.” That’s apparently a veiled reference to the Clinton “assault weapons” ban for which Biden loves to take credit. The fact that virtually everyone acknowledges that the Clinton AWB did nothing is apparently beside the point.

What the President didn’t do was to blame his political opponents for the shooting. At least not directly. Why? A couple of reasons seem likely.

First, anti-gunners and their media accomplices have done that in the past and it hasn’t worked for them. Bill Clinton blamed Rush Limbaugh for creating the atmosphere that led to the Oklahoma City bombing. Democrats tried to pin responsibility for the Gabby Giffords shooting on Sarah Palin for producing a pamphlet that printed targets on contested congressional districts. Those attempts to leverage the actions of previous insane killers for political gain didn’t help them.

Second, we’re now less than six months away from the November midterms. Asking an already unpopular Congress to vote on gun control legislation — which is certain to fail — won’t help their prospects at the polls and increases the risk of Democrats losing one or both houses this fall.

Besides, Biden doesn’t need to try to pin the blame on his political opponents for what a broken, radicalized wacko from upstate did. He’s got people like Chuck Schumer and members of the media lining up to do that for him.

Chuckie’s been pretty quiet about gun control since Saturday, sticking instead to the “RIGHT WING MEDIA MADE HIM KILL THOSE PEOPLE!” message.

That, however, isn’t satisfying members of the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex who desperately want to take advantage of a high profile mass murder, just as they did after Sandy Hook and Parkland.

Oh dear.

Gun-grabbing zealots want to see Senate Democrats walk the plank vote for a gun control bill, whatever the fallout may be come the election.

Tucker Carlson isn’t any more responsible for what the Buffalo killer did than Bernie Sanders or Rachel Maddow were for James Hodgkinson’s attack on the Congressional baseball practice. But that won’t keep those on the left from attacking him and trying to tar anyone else on the right they can think of.

Meanwhile, Old Joe Biden — or more likely White House political strategists — have determined that this crisis will just have to go to waste, at least as far as pushing for more gun control laws is concerned. They apparently are holding out hope that they may still be able to hold onto control of the Senate after November. We shall see.

  1. Liberals ought to look in the mirror to see who’s stirring up hatred and animosity in this Country.

The non stop bile and vitriol they vomit is the leading factor for the animosity and intolerance so prevalent today.

Until they fix themselves I’m not interested in their lectures.

    • I am just happy that several of the locals interviewed suggested more people carry guns to take the crazy out. Bunch of other issues need to be addressed especially actually using the laws we have to not make it as easy for crazy to pass a background check with an established history suggesting actual criminal intent. But at least it’s becoming apparent to some the government isn’t going to help much past cleanup.

    • It’s very clear that the worst offenders come from the political right. The extremists that gun down black people in churches and supermarkets are not reacting to liberal chatter but to Fox News talking heads, and worse actors.

The liberals go wrong when they constantly focus on the weapon instead of the person. Violence is a human problem, not an inanimate and unthinking mechanical device problem. To solve America’s Human Violence problem we need to work on the human causes of that violence.

Neither side has any interest in doing that. That’s the problem. The two sides have their narratives and both are focused on the guns and the rights, not on the people doing the bad stuff.

The people doing the bad stuff are where the attention needs to be, it’s as simple as that.

      • “It’s very clear that the worst offenders come from the political right.”

and, any credibility you may have had is flushed right down the shitter.

How conveniently you ignore the hate and bile spewed by the Leftist Scum ™ and the actions they inspire that are swept under the rug as fast as possible…

      • door to utter stupidity…History confirms Racism is a product of the democRat Party. The white perps you speak of are carrying on what is a rotten democRat Party Family Tradition. To get to the source you must look further than the end of your ignorant, slanderous, libelous nose. Make no mistake about it…You and your Rat Party are the source and own the racist manure between the perp’s ears.

      • Your MAJOR problem is…is that the Libs and demoRATS DO NOT WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEMS!
Those ‘problems are what funds them during election times, it funds them and their buddies via graft and bribes!
they will never seek to fix them, just look at San franSHITo all dem/lib run state county and city and they still have a mess after DECADES of one sided rule
that right there should show ya they don’t want to fix anying!

  2. Nothing coming out of Biden’s self-centered, senile, malicious, lying mouth matters to any US citizen of any race that is NORMAL and wants to lead their lives with as little government interference as possible. Sponge Bob should be able to run for President in the next election as a Republican and win. He may have to get some false ballots to stuff boxes in the middle of the night so 2000 to 20,000 fish mules can help him cheat this time against Biden’s election fraud team.

  3. This Buffalo racist murder spree tragedy could have been prevented with 1 or 2 of these commonsense things:

1 – a ban on civilian ownership of body armor, giving “good guys with guns” AKA the security guard a chance to stop him. (he was shot several times in the chest but the vest worked and the guy killed the security guard and continued killing others)

    2. a ban on all semi automatic firearms. Can’t go on a mass shooting if you have to load every time you shoot. Allow guns that can shoot as fast as you can twitch your finger and the prevalence of high capacity magazines and clips, innocent civilians have no chance.

1 or 2, or preferably both 1 and 2 need to happen.

    • #1 may want to check YouTube to see how easy it is to make pistol level body armor from common materials, this idea is largely irrelevant given the rarity of mass shooters of any race using it to begin with but hey you have your curated narrative to go with.

#2 Yeah good luck with that.

Also you were better as Swalwell

    • David: Get mental health counseling dude! It might help you. Once you’re sane, you’ll be able to logically reason that the only effective response to prevent or mitigate these shootings is for more people to be armed and for the liberals to stop fomenting the racism, hate, and division.

    • “2. a ban on all semi automatic firearms.”

You can’t, because semi-autos are the most popular firearms available, and Scalia stated in ‘Heller v. DC’ that firearms in common use are expressly protected by the 2A…

    • david hoggwash…Cut the chase a-hole. Go get you a box and go door to door in your neighborhood and demand your neighbors put their guns in your box. Word of caution…Don’t be surprised when the lady of the house plants a frying pan on top of that insane pervert head of yours.

    • Hoggy, So you now want to outlaw body armor. Are guns going to be next? Semi Auto weapons are not the problem. Violent people are. A gun can’t do anything without a human.
We do not have a gun problem. We have a violent people problem.

  4. Thanks for taking a boo-lit for the team Dan. I changed the channel & put on some Youtube gat videos when Slow Joe interrupted the “newz”. Pathetically predictable dementia Dim…oh & the dims are running an ad against Darrin Bailey in ILLanoy saying “too conservative for ILLannoy”. Pro-gun,pro-baby,pro ccl, void the FOID, Christian and conservative. Sounds like an endorsement for governor🤓

  5. Really someone probably just forgot to load that part into the teleprompter and the Egg Salad Sandwich in Chief (ESSC) never knew any better.

    • .@ElonMusk: “It’s hard to tell what Biden’s doing, to be frank. The real president is whoever controls the teleprompter … The path to power is the path to the teleprompter … If someone were to accidentally lean on the teleprompter, it would be like ‘Anchorman,’ ‘UUASDF123’” pic.twitter.com/2qJKbaWXNr

  6. Don’t blame Dementia Joe for not speaking about gun control. He thought that he was in Buffalo, Montana to support conservation of the American bison. It’s an easy mistake for a senile old bonobo to make.

  7. Uh you may want to check his speech again, he very much called for an Assault weapons ban, from the WSJ:

“Mr. Biden also called on Congress Tuesday to restrict assault weapons, but he didn’t outline a proposal for broader gun-control measures. “I’m not naive,” he said. “I know tragedy will come again. It cannot be forever overcome. It cannot be fully understood either. But there are certain things we can do.”

He later told reporters that an assault-weapons ban would be very difficult to pass in Congress. “But I am not going to give up,” he said.”

    • Good. Let the voters see him ignore 6 dollar a gallon gas, record inflation and babies can’t even get formula. November approaches.

      • “Let the voters see him ignore 6 dollar a gallon gas,…”

Leftist Scum ™ have no problem at all with paying 6, 9, or even 12 bucks a gallon for gasoline if it means their glorious future of “renewable energy (a dream)” and “social justice (a delusional fantasy)” is just around the corner, don’t you know?

(Good God Almighty, I despise Leftist Scum ™ and all that think like them with a passion. May every last fucking one of them get cancer and die without effective pain meds… 🙂 )

        • “…glorious future of “renewable energy….”

I can tell you that the minerals/metals needed worldwide to build enough EV batteries is not readily available no matter how many mines are opened. Just not there in amounts needed. Renewable energy is pretty useless without a way to store the energy produced. Gasoline is potential energy stored in a container/tank.

I will be long gone before a substitute is found in order to get rid of fossil fuels completely for transportation needs. Of course oil is used to produced many products that people can’t live without so there’s that too!

        • Leftist Scum ™ have no problem at all with paying 6, 9, or even 12 bucks a gallon for gasoline…

It’s the price of diesel that’s the killer. Literally. This keeps up and those City Urban Liberal Types will be on the verge of starvation when the trucks no longer run.

        • Manse if I remember correctly we could in theory build enough nuke plants to provide the generation but the raw materials for the transportation(cars batteries etc) would never be available at a viable cost to consumer short of plundering Africa (gee China what are you doing over there).

  8. There entire 2022 strategy seems to be a repeat of 2020.
Sure, Trump is a jerk and all but he isn’t in office and caring about whether or not a politician tweets mean things is a first-world privilege born of comfort. Now we’re in world where I weigh the cost of commuting against actually going to work, where $40 billion of MY money is being thrown away, where it’s looking like I’ll have to take a second mortgage to pay for heating oil this winter, where the choice to buy food or gas will be made for me thanks to empty shelves.

Why would I worry about some guy tweeting mean things? If I’m going to worry about the behavior of other humans it would be the freaks with blue hair telling first graders about their prolapsed assholes they got over the weekend.

  9. Hey there everyone. Freudian Slip from PennLive. The Abortion, and now Gun Ban and White Supremacist Boogeyman crap, is just am admitted distraction to the impending Double Dip Recession on the way.

FJB. Let’s Go Brandon; Bankruptcy for the Economy.

  10. “The American experiment in democracy is in danger like it hasn’t been in my lifetime. It’s in danger this hour. Hate and fear being given too much oxygen by those who pretend to love America but who don’t understand America.”

I’d like to believe the puppetmaster’s grip slipped for a couple sentences there, and a true American peeked out for a minute, because that looks like a pretty fair critique of his own party. Like an evil spell being lifted for a bit. However, I think it’s been a very long time since Placeholder Biden had a lucid moment, and even longer since he was a patriot. If ever.

  11. It’s almost like he thinks we don’t know what his plans are! You can fool your supporters all you want, Slojoe. We’re a little more cognizant than that!!

  12. is it not funny that old Joey shows up to Buffalo NY
    BUT
DID NOT go to Waukesha Wi parade attack where more were HURT?
is it race of the attacker or is he waving a bloody shirt, while standing on bodies to prove something?
    Woke virtue signalling old bastard!

    • Other than the shooter referring to his own politics as authoritarian left (which they won’t report,) this situation pretty much fits with what the Puppet & Co. have been selling, which is: “They’re going to put y’all back in chains!” They weren’t going to pass up that opportunity. Black people need Democrats to save them from whitey.

  13. Actually Biden did take a stab at gun control, gun rights, and the firearms industry with this…

“We have to refuse to live in a country where black people going about a weekly grocery shopping can be gunned down by weapons of war deployed in a racist cause, ….”

He once again classified a MSR as a ‘weapon of war’ and it isn’t. In this case it was used in acts of violence but that still does not make the civilian grade AR-15 MSR that was used a “weapon of war”.

The reason, the cause, the manifestation of this horrible act – the responsibility and actions for it lies with the person who did it and not the rifle used.

    • What if they’re gunned down by weapons of war over territory or street-cred? Way more of that happens than the other. Like magnitudes more.

      • That’s what is referred to as politically inconvenient. It’s so much easier to focus on race and emotion instead of focusing on solving problems.

  14. Poor Bushmaster. I wonder if they’ll get sued again because OBVIOUSLY it was the marketing of the Bushmaster rifle that instilled so much hate in the stupid kid to the extent he bought one and killed innocent people with it.

My brother who doesn’t come to this website summed it up perfectly for me when he said, “I could use two six shot revolvers and do the same thing”

  15. Yes, the MSM is shouting that the democrats are going to lose badly this coming November

But remember, there are a whole bunch of voters who will vote for democrats anyway. Students, teachers, regular organized unions, unionized government employees, anyone who gets a handout from the government, environmentalists, the “Green New Deal” supporters, the gun-control groups — and the list goes on and on.

So why are they shouting? To convince individual conservatives that, “It’s a pushover, I don’t really have to go vote today. My one vote won’t make a difference.”

Your vote does matter, that’s what it’s all about. Register to vote. VOTE!!

    • It is disgusting how Too Many Conservative people make excuses to not Vote.

I heard a lot if it in 2020……look what happened.

    • But then again, we’re in Worse Than 2008 Double Dip Recession Area for the US Economy.

  16. But living in a country where white children can get run down by an SUV for daring to walk in a Christmas parade is apparently fine.

  17. “We have to refuse to live in a country where black people going about a weekly grocery shopping can be gunned down by weapons of war deployed in a racist cause,”

How about any people? The last couple of shootings that have been publicized were black shooters with white victims.

This is enough to make any American sick to his/her stomach. The politicians are trying to keep the people fighting about things that do not matter to them, while they just take everything they can. This is NOT MLK’s dream. I will let you all in on a secret – most whites that see skinheads and hear that BS are totally sickened, just as most blacks that see the gangbanging drug slingers in the inner city are equally sickened.

    • “How about any people?”

Because politics. White supremacy ideology is bad. So is racism. They can’t focus on stopping racism because they push it. They derive power from it.

“most whites that see skinheads and hear that BS are totally sickened”

I doubt that’s a secret in these parts. Only a few of the out of touch libs that listen to NPR would be surprised.

  18. Unfortunately for the Democrat party all the usual suspects in the legacy media have been running their mouths, and everyone simply assumes their masters in the Democrat party are the ones actually saying it. Since that is where the media always get their marching orders, no one expects independent or rational thought from that bunch.

  19. He’s not talking about this because he knows it will get little support from his own party. Sure, there’s throwing of the same, tired old political bones but other than that he knows he can’t make it happen so why bother?

Only Senators in safe states and Reps in safe districts want to touch gun control in the current environment. Even some of them would rather spend the political capital on what they see as “more bang for their buck” with stimmies, student debt forgiveness and attacking companies for “gouging”.

Some of the midwits actually think that the economy can be sorta salvaged by November and others are betting on the Fed’s PPT to keep the markets up enough to give them a talking point with the investment class libs who, generally, make enough that food inflation isn’t yet bothering them that much and whom often don’t own a car.

Which is to say that those with a few working neurons are in damage control mode and they’re not interested in patching small holes like this.

  20. The dems do not appear to be concerned about the election at all…Either something very BIG will happen or the election will stolen (worse than before)..They are acting like “its in the bag”…Then they will rub it in all of our faces…Something is in the works…DON’T be shocked…

    • The Strategic Oil Reserve is being drawn down. That’s due to end about the beginning of October. China will invade Taiwan in mid-October. Biden’s reaction – “We don’t have enough oil for our non-nuclear war ships and transports, you’re on your own.”

Hunter was in Ukraine, Hunter was in China.

  21. Racist losers are overrepresented in the mass shooter population (Charleston, Buffalo, El Paso, Gilroy, New York City Subway, San Bernardino, erc). Calling them Conservative is a stretch. Being hopeless losers, they oppose free markets, self sufficiency, capitalism, and other hallmarks of the of Republicans/Conservatives. Many aren’t particularly politically involved. The white supremacist types are Socialists, like their hero Hitler.
Other than directly killing off the minorites they dislike, their policies align more closely with Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and AOC, who prefer to indirectly victimize minorities.
