Pascal remembered our post Bloomberg Funded Gun Control Study: CT’s Handgun Law Reduces Firearms Deaths. Or Not. relative to the article Living In New England’s Murder Capital [at courant.com, behind pay wall]. Seems the gun control paradise known as the Constitution State is having some problems with “gun violence.” Here’s the money shot . . .

I woke up recently to the reality of being a resident, voter and taxpayer in the murder capital of New England, Hartford, with Springfield, Mass., the city in which I currently pastor, a distant second. On Aug. 1 of this year, Hartford reached its 20th homicide with the killing of a 25-year-old man in front of the church I formerly pastored. My son, Shane, was the 20th victim in Hartford in 2012, on Oct. 20. We are in the dog days of August and already there are 21 homicides.

  1. 21!? We’re 8 days into the month and already have 21 people killed in Chicago proper. If you think you’ve seen war in the US perhaps you need to take the night tour of a few cities.

  2. Maybe Gov. Malloy should pass more laws to take guns away from the good people. Why not? Good people are an easy target because they don’t fight back. Gangs do. Which is why a thug like Malloy targets the good people and leaves the bad people alone. Call it professional courtesy.

  3. With Rauner and Hogan both scoring upset victories, it still didn’t wash the bitter taste from my mouth that Malloy’s win left there.

  4. I have a math question for the big brain folks….at the current cull rate, how many years before remaining criminals in major cities are dead?

  5. Just an update but we are actually at 25 murders in the fine city of Hartford as of today. The gun laws in this state are a joke… Assault weapons ban, mag capacity limit…. This comrade run state steps on the 2A and watches their attempts burn in flames as the murder rate skyrockets. And not just lovely Homicide Hartford but Bridgeport, and New Haven both reside on that top 10 Homicide in NE list. It’s not that 25 homicides is an insane amount compared to a Chiraq or NOLA, it’s that the city is only 17 square miles and the population is laughable small. Ok stepping off my soapbox now and going back to clean the pre ban AR’s I’m forced to buy through Malloy’s loophole

  6. It’s sad. So many names from the Fertile Crescent of American firearms manufacturing. Springfield, New Haven, Bridgeport, Hartford. Now festering liberal hives.

    • It’s not that the cities have changed, it’s that liberals have been changing. If you look at colonial Connecticut and Mass (and RI), they were the most liberal colonies of the 13. Connecticut had religious freedom to an extent and the Plymouth colony allowed a large amount of women’s rights. Mass and CT were the home of the Roundheads, the English revolutionaries who killed a king.

The Dems have always been anti-gun since they’ve been disarming blacks and other minorities since the 1800s. Now the Dems are the “liberals.”

      • Yep. Our nation was founded by liberals — real liberals. Today’s so-called liberals are actually Marxist-inspired authoritarians.

  7. Seriously Farago, ever ask yourself or amongst your own people, how it is that the wealthiest and most rabid benefactors/financiers of the Human Disarmament Industrial Complex in America are Jews (whom hypocritically and ironically enough are the biggest proponent of arming jews in Israel, even when they’re ‘officially’ anti-gun ‘liberals’ here), along with, paradoxically, some of the most brave and ardent defenders of 2A are also Jews: from Aaron Zelman, RIP, Gottlieb, to Alan Korwin, to the most winningest 2A SCOTUS lawyer Alan Gura??

Like what thee fucking schizophrenia, American Jews?? You’re killing us! xD

    • @Nelson
I figured for a moment it might be that Jews are normal people too, with the diversity of opinions one would expect to see across a random segment of the population, instead of in a monoculture determined to hold on to power. But then I realized that this is exactly what they want me to think! Oooh, these Jews can be tricky…

  8. I believe in the states right to choose and regulate themselves. BUT when the states violate the right to self preservation it is time for the Federal government to step in and charge the AG, the governor, and anybody else that would violate your “right to keep and bare arms.” Time to put politicians in jail for violating their oath to DEFEND the Constitution!!!
2nd Amendment,1st Amendment, Can we say the “Bill of Rights”? Natural rights, God given rights? Good education NOT government brain washing drivel. It is time to think. There are two classes of people, government and slaves. You ask, who is the government? The rich people that buy the elections. No double standards. Thanks for your support and vote. Pass the word. mrpresident2016.com
